How Rangers will spend £20m investment from US consortium
The group, led by 49ers Enterprises and health tycoon Andrew Cavenagh, has purchased a controlling stake in the Ibrox club in return for an initial £20million investment and the deal was confirmed today.
Cavenagh will serve as chairman while 49ers Enterprises president Paraag Marathe will be vice-chairman.
Cavenagh told the Rangers website: "We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us by the Rangers Board, shareholders, staff, and supporters. This club's history and traditions speak for themselves, but history doesn't win matches.
"We know that the true way to honour the club's heritage will be to drive performance. Our focus is simple: elevate performance, deliver results, and bring Rangers back to where it belongs - at the top."
Marathe added: 'At 49ers Enterprises, we have built a track record of sporting and business success, but our driving motivation is our deep connection to the clubs and communities we serve.
"We are excited to join Andrew and our other consortium of investors in a new era for this iconic club, and we are determined to build something that supporters can be proud of for years to come.'

Rangers can now live the American dream, but what are the big financial challenges?
One thing Rangers fans will be wondering is just how the initial investment will be spent.
The £20m will not just be provided as a warchest to be splashed in the transfer market, though the injection of cash will certainly help in that regard.
Rangers Review have reported that the initial priority for the new owners is to improve on-pitch fortunes and so a decent chunk of the cash will be put forward to do so.
Significant investment in the squad is expected and it will likely be another busy summer for Ibrox's revolving door.
The investors' long-term goal is to work towards long-term financial sustainability. In recent years, wealthy investors and supporters have plugged gaps through share issues and loans that have been converted to equity.
The fresh inject of funds will allow the club to have stability in their planning.

Three rare items from the late Davie Cooper's football career are to be sold at McTear's Auctioneers on Thursday, June 19. "I am an avid Rangers fan and the pieces have had pride of place in my house for a number of years now. "Uncle Davie was an incredible player and a true gentleman off the pitch. "It will be tough to part with the items but I think it is time to pass them on and let another fan get as much pleasure as I have from them." Headlining the collection is the Rangers Hall of Fame trophy, which was awarded posthumously in 2000 when Cooper was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame. The bronze bust on a slate base is inscribed with "Rangers Football Club, Hall of Fame, Davie Cooper 1977 – 1989". This unique item is expected to sell for between £2,000 and £4,000. The Greatest Team jersey, which was presented to Cooper's family in 1999 after a worldwide fan poll selected him for Rangers' all-time best eleven, is anticipated to reach between £800 and £1,200. Meanwhile, the match-worn claret and amber Motherwell jersey is expected to sell for between £500 and £1,000. A former Frankfurt defender is reported to be on his way to Ibrox as one of the 49ers' first signings Rangers are reported to be closing in on their first incoming transfer of the 49ers era in defender Almamy Toure – who played against them for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final. The widely anticipated takeover which was first broken my Record Sport was completed yesterday with the American consortium, headed up by Andrew Cavenagh who becomes the new chairman at Ibrox, buying a controlling stake in the club. They promise fresh ideas and investment on and off the pitch as they look to restore Rangers, who have won just one top-flight title in the last 14 years, as a genuine force in Scotland. The first step in that direction will be appointing a new manager with Davide Ancelotti, Francesco Farioli and Russell Martin among the current contenders. But work is already ongoing in tandem to ensure the next boss will have a serviceable squad to work with. They've parted company with a number of out-of-contract stars like Leon Balogun, Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence and it's being reported in Africa that one player being considered to plug a gap in a depleted squad is 29-year-old Toure. Africa Foot say the versatile defender, equally effective at right-back and centre-back, is a target with work already underway to bring him to Scotland. Toure spent last season in the German second tier with Kaiserslautern where he struggled with injury and is looking for a move to get back playing regularly and relaunch a career that at one time looked highly-promising. He came through the ranks at Monaco and was part of the golden generation of talent that included Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Fabinho. Toure came off the bench in their famous Champions League comeback victory over Manchester City in 2017 and played 80 times for the club before his exit in 2019. He then signed for Eintracht Frankfurt, where he won the Europa League in 2022 – downing Rangers on penalties in the final. The defender's exit from Kaiserslautern has already been confirmed and his reported weekly wage of around £8,000 puts him on the table as a cost-effective defensive option whose name value and experience may well appeal to the new Ibrox owners. The Canaries are still waiting to officially unveil new boss Liam Manning but with Rangers yet to have finalised their next manager, it would appear Celtic may have a head start in the race. Claims down south have also suggested Middlesbrough as a potential destination but local reports say those are just rumours at the moment.
