Justin Bieber's ‘Go Baby' Lyrics Explore His Private Dynamic With Hailey

THE RUNDOWN
Justin Bieber began his Swag song 'Go Baby' with a shout-out to his wife, Hailey Bieber, her famous Rhode phone lip case, and the constant online chatter surrounding their marriage. 'That's my baby, she's iconic, iPhone case, lip gloss on it,' he sings. 'And, oh my days, she keeps 'em talkin', it's comedy, just block it, oh, my baby.'
The rest of the song takes a more sensitive turn, shedding light on how he comforts his wife through life's ups and downs and relentless public scrutiny. He tells Hailey, 'Nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break / Don't need to pretend that you're okay / So cry on my shoulder, just turn into me / Cry on my shoulder whenever you need it.' In the chorus, he adds, 'Lay it all down and I can love it away, just stay by my side.'
Hailey recently spoke to Vogue about how she is trying to shut out the noise and how Justin helps her cope. 'I feel like I've fought so hard to try to get people to understand me, or know who I am, or see me for me. And people just don't want to sometimes,' she said. 'And there's nothing you can do about that. I've been in a position where I've tried to tell my side of a story or correct a narrative or tell the truth of a lie and then they go, Well, she's lying. Imagine how trapping that feels.'
She reflected on her decision to ignore the commentary, saying, 'I've learned so much from Justin, really. He's been doing this literally since he was a child and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know. He was like, 'Baby, trust me, I've been here before many, many times. You're not going to win. There is no winning.''
Justin's lyrics paint a poignant portrait of how he supports Hailey in private. Read them and listen to the song below:
Verse 1
That's my baby, she's iconic, iPhone case, lip gloss on it
And, oh my days, she keeps 'em talkin', it's comedy, just block it, oh, my baby
Refrain
When sunlight turns to shadow and it gets hard to face
Like water to a flower, babe, I know you need the rain
Nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break
Don't need to pretend that you're okay
Pre-Chorus
So cry on my shoulder, just turn into me
Cry on my shoulder whenever you need it
You better believe it that I can hold all the weight and shrivel inside
So cry on my shoulder, that low melody
Cry on my shoulder, I know you'll breach me
Lay it all down and I can love it away, just stay by my side, oh
Chorus
So go, baby, go, baby, go, baby
Go, baby, go, baby, go, uh
Just go, baby, go, baby, go, baby
Go, baby, go, baby, go, oh
Verse 2
Sunday to Sunday, I'm here whеn you're weak
Coaster bеside me, it's always okay
Every moment, you know where to find me
You don't have to speak, I can read you (Ooh)
Nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break (Ah, ooh)
Don't need to pretend that you're okay (Ah, ooh)
Cry on my shoulder, I know you'll breach me
Lay you down and I can love it away, just stay by my side, oh
Go, baby, go, baby, go, oh (Ooh)

In the next shot, Bieber's back is turned away from the camera as he walks down the stairs toward a tree. The two-time Grammy winner's latest post comes days after he and his wife Hailey Bieber shared a passionate kiss at the listening party for his new album, Swag, which was released on July 11. The event, hosted by Spotify, took place on Thursday, July 24 in West Hollywood, Calif. at Bird Street Club and served as a collaboration with Justin's new apparel brand, Skylrk. Justin Bieber Admits He Can Be 'Extremely Selfish' in Personal Message

Originally appeared on E! Online Justin Bieber knows it's never too late to say sorry. Indeed, the 'Peaches' singer reflected on what he sees as his personal shortcomings while sharing how he leans on his spirituality during tough times. 'Thanking Jesus for his patience with me this morning,' Justin wrote in a July 29 post to X (formerly Twitter). 'I can be extremely selfish and impatient yet Jesus always has his arms open toward me.' Alongside pictures of himself smiling while hiking in the woods, the 31-year-old added an optimistic message to fans, saying, 'Let's have a good day, let's go outside. Get in nature.' While the reflection from Justin—who shares son Jack Blues, 11 months, with wife Hailey Bieber—offered a peek into his mindset, it's not the first time he has let the world in on his insecurities. In fact, earlier this year he opened up about feeling inadequate amid his success. "I personally have always felt unworthy, like I was a fraud," Justin wrote on his Instagram Story in March. "Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky like, 'Damn, if they only knew my thoughts, how judgmental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn't be saying this.'" Justin also used the moment to pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who died at the age of 76on July 22. At the end of his photo dump, the 'Baby' singer included a throwback photo with the heavy metal singer. Justin's new album is among his most honest, sharing insight into how he's learned to navigate his years living life in the public eye. In 'Therapy Sessions,' one of the album's many interludes featuring Druski, the comedian and Justin discuss the latter's social media presence, which has raised eyebrows in recent months. Justin also channeled that vulnerability into his new album Swag—released earlier this month—detailing how being a public figure has impacted the way he processes his emotions. Let's have a good day, let's go outside Get in nature Thanking Jesus for his patience with me this morning I can be extremely selfish and impatient yet Jesus always has his arms open toward me 🤗🤗🤗 Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) July 29, 2025 'I think that's been a tough thing for me recently,' the singer says on 'Therapy Sessions,' one of the album's interludes. 'Feeling like I've had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human really publicly and so people always asking if I'm okay and that starts to really weigh on me.' Justin's seventh studio album wasn't just a space for him to discuss his insecurities, though. He also highlighted his relationship with Hailey, who he believes supports him for better or worse. 'I'm startin' to be open to the idea that you know me too,' he sings on the song 'Devotion.' He then adds, 'I like when you hold me to ya / I like when you scold me too.' Sydney Sweeney critics compare jeans campaign to Brooke Shields' Calvin Klein ad

Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign is not only sparking controversy. It's giving fans a case of pop culture déjà vu. The "Euphoria" star's collaboration with the clothing brand has been drawing criticism for its double entendre-laden tagline, "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans." In one of the campaign videos, a reclining Sweeney buttons up her jeans as the camera pans up her body and she speaks in a matter-of-fact tone, saying "genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue." Some critics have argued that an allusion to "great genes" in an ad featuring a blond-haired, blue-eyed woman felt like a reference to eugenics, the discredited belief that the human population can be improved through selective breeding. Aside from its questionable marketing, the jeans campaign is also earning scrutiny for its alleged similarities to Brooke Shields' 1980 Calvin Klein ad, which drew controversy for its perceived sexual tone. Sydney Sweeney controversy: Why actress's jeans ad is ruffling feathers Why was Brooke Shields' Calvin Klein ad controversial? At the time of Shields' ad, the campaign sparked controversy by having the then-15-year-old model recite the ambiguous brand tagline: "You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing." Shields told Vogue in October 2021 that she thought the backlash, which centered on the alleged sexualization of an underage Shields, was "ridiculous." "I was naive, I didn't think anything of it. I didn't think it had to do with underwear, I didn't think it was sexual in nature. I would say it about my sister, 'Nobody can come between me and my sister,' " she explained. The actress also recalled being shocked that she was being "berated" by the public, who assumed she knew the intention behind the commercials. "I think the assumption is that I was much more savvy than I ever really was." Brooke Shields auctions Calvin Klein jeans from controversial ad Sydney Sweeney ad divides internet with Brooke Shields comparison Some users on social media compared the style of Sweeney's American Eagle campaign to the sexual controversy of Shields' Calvin Klein ad. "That Sydney Sweeney ad 😬 and finding out it's referencing an ad that sexualized 15-year-old Brooke Shields😬😬," @naledimashishi wrote on X. "Are they legitimately referencing that super inappropriate sexual commercial of Brooke Shields, who was like 15 years old at the time?" wrote @nanauzumakiii, also citing the campaign's partnership with nonprofit Crisis Text Line. "They're referencing a commercial that took advantage of a minor to raise money for domestic violence victims?" "Very uncomfortable. Clearly referencing the Brooke Shields CK ad. She was 15 in that," @lazysusansontag commented. "This doesn't feel sensual or sexy, but rather it's a voyeur of the idea of sex. This is not even artistic or original. It's just. Bad." Meanwhile, other commenters downplayed the fashion controversy, with some chalking up the backlash to political differences. "In 1980, our world was shattered by this Calvin Klein jeans commercial starring Brooke Shields," @JebraFaushay wrote on X. "Just kidding, no one batted an eye or cried about eugenics like they are now." "Whatever you do, do not — and I repeat, do not — share Brooke Shields' Calvin Klein Jeans ad from 1980. It might just send liberals over the edge," @ImMeme0 wrote. "Where did American Eagle get the idea for Sydney Sweeney's commercial? They copied it," @Nance726 commented. "This is Calvin Klein and Brooke Shields in the '80s … and nobody freaked out." Contributing: Nicole Fallert and Naledi Ushe, USA TODAY
