
Suspect charged over death of man, 25, at flat in Scots city

A MAN has been charged over the death of Austin Ironside in Aberdeen.
The 25-year-old lost his life after being found seriously injured at a flat on the city's Skene Street on August 3.

A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 46-year-old man has been re-arrested and charged in connection with the death of Austin Ironside in Aberdeen.
"Austin, 25, was found injured on Skene Street around 3.10pm on Sunday, 3 August, 2025.
"He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died on Tuesday, 5 August, 2025.
"The man was previously arrested on Monday, 11 August and released. He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday, 14 August, 2025.
"Enquiries remain ongoing and officers are following a positive line of enquiry."

The teen, who was sitting on a bench in Dyke Road, Brighton, was allegedly approached by a man who asked for help finding a shop that was open. Officers received a report of the rape in the early hours of Sunday and immediately launched an investigation. A 38-year-old Brazilian man, of no fixed address, was arrested near the property shortly later. Officers have since charged Rafael Nascimento with rape, he appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Nascimento was remanded into custody and is due to appear in court again on September 9. Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Cobbett, said, "A dedicated team has been working diligently, swiftly, and thoroughly to ensure all lines of enquiry are fully progressed. "The victim will continue to be supported throughout this process, and following their bravery in making a report, officers quickly identified a person of interest, and they have since been charged and remanded. "Officers have continued to carry out enquiries in the Regent Hill area, and as a result, a heightened police presence has been visible. "This forms part of our ongoing work to support the investigation and to provide reassurance to the community. "We remain committed to protecting the public from those who seek to harm others. We are here to listen, to support, and to take action. Named locally as Madia Kauser, the mum is said to have pushed her five-year-old daughter out of the way of the falling branch. The little girl was reportedly in a push chair that the brave mother managed to shove out of the way before being crushed by the falling branch. The woman's young daughter thankfully survived unharmed because of her mum's noble actions. Former mayor and local councillor Zamir Khan MBE, an uncle in the family, told the Daily Mail that her body was still with the coroner. He added: "Her little girl told me her mother pushed her out of the way as the branch fell. "The older boy was walking with his father in front and could not believe what happened. "It is very hard for the children. I do not think they will ever walk in that park again." The woman's husband was said to be just a few feet away with the couple's son when the tragedy unfolded. He rushed to offer aid to his wife but nothing could be done to save the woman. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics battled to save her. The remainder of the tree has since been removed by Blackburn with Darwen council, the local authority has also trimmed back nearby tree branches. Tributes have begun to pour in for the hero mother who "would do anything for her children." Social media tributes have described the heroic mum as a "lovely person" with the local Muslim community coming together to remember her. Family members from across the country travelled to attend the gathering.
