I'm a bedding expert — 3 cooling body pillows I'd buy in the 4th of July sales to beat the heat

Tom's Guide03-07-2025
One of my favorite ways to sleep is to curl up on my side under a cozy duvet cocoon. Comfortable? Yes. However, when the temperature soars up to 28°C (82.4 F) in the summer, it's also stiflingly hot. As a bedding product tester, I recently tried swapping my duvet for a cooling body pillow and it kept me cool and comfortable all night long. And in even better news, you can buy your own cooling body pillow for less in the 4th of July sleep sales. One of my favorites is the Coop Cool+ Body Pillow, down to $135.20 at Coop Sleep Goods from $169.
Like the best cooling pillow, the full-body counterpart incorporates specialist tech like cooling gel-infused shredded foam, moisture-wicking breathable cover and more, which prevents overheating and nightsweats.
Body pillows are rarer in the market than your regular bed pillows and therefore trickier to discern the good ones from the bad. This is why I have rounded up three of the deals I recommend to make your search easier. Let's go... (Psst, still shopping for other sleep deals? We're also tracking the best 4th of July mattress and bedding deals live as they drop.)
1. Coop Cool+ Body Pillow: was from $169 now from $135.20 at Coop Sleep GoodsCoop is a brand featured not once but twice in our guide to the best pillow of the year, under the adjustable and cooling categories. Purely because they have nailed both and have crafted products suitable for all sleeping styles and body types. The recently launched Cool+ Cooling Body Pillow is no exception with its cooling gel-infused memory foam and microfiber adjustable fill. It also comes in a cool-to-touch with moisture-wicking liners on the side. With this you can say goodbye to awkward sleep postures, overheating and nightsweats. Grab this now at 20% off for 4th of July (which drops the MSRP $169 to $135.20) along with sleep benefits like: 100-night sleep trial, 5-year warranty and free shipping.

2. Cozy Earth Bamboo Down Alternative Body Pillow: was from $313 now from $219 at Cozy EarthWhile this does not include actively cooling elements, this body pillow from Cozy Earth recreates the plush softness and temperature regulation of natural down. The secret here is the hypoallergenic bamboo and recycled polyester fill, which also wicks away any moisture, ensuring a cool and dry sleep all night. So if you prefer something for year-round use without dedicated cooling options, the Cozy Earth Bamboo Down Alternative Body Pillow is an ideal pick. You can now save up to 30% off for 4th of July, which lowers the price significantly $219 from $313.
User score: ★★★★★(based on over 80 reviews)
3. Nestl Cooling Body Pillow: was from $54.99 now from $39.99 at AmazonFinally, the most affordable pick out of the three. Nestl, however, is by no means a new brand on the block, launching their own their version of the viral 'husband pillow'. Similar to the Coop Cool+, this cooling body pillow from Nestl consists of gel-infused shredded memory foam (CertiPUR-US certified) adjustable fill. It also stands out with a dual-textured cover— a cool-to-touch feel on one side and soft rayon on the other. You can now find it at 27% off which drops the price to $39.99 from $54.99 on Amazon.
User score: ★★★★½ (based on over 7K reviews)

Plus, it's super easy to take off at the end of the day without tons of harsh scrubbing. A pair of lightweight boxer-style shorts if you're seeking a cute, comfy alternative to the $98 Reformation pair you've been eyeballing. This wallet-friendly version is made of a breathable material *and* it has pockets with an elasticized waist so you can kiss leggings and jeans goodbye for the summer. Why Summer Fridays' K-Beauty Exfoliator Is a Game Changer for Smooth Skin

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Of all the calendars on my phone—friend group outings, looming work deadlines, the never-ending birthday alerts—none strikes fear in my heart like the one tracking my period. Every month, I peek, cringe, and slam it shut, knowing that in a matter of days, I'll be wrestling with cramps, fatigue, and the hormonal breakout parade that takes residence along my cheeks and chin. But here I am, nine days out, and my skin is suspiciously calm—smooth, bright, almost as if she's on vacation instead of gearing up for battle. The plot twist? An unlikely skin care recruit I slipped into my routine at the eleventh hour turned out to be the reset my skin didn't know it needed. I've long relied on Summer Fridays to keep my lips plush (Mint is my ride-or-die) and my post-flight face hydrated. But now? I'm convinced their new exfoliating pads might be the perfect sidekick because nothing pairs better with glossy lips and a juicy, plumped-up visage than skin that's nearly poreless, even-toned, and fully unbothered. After all, that is the Cali-cool brand's ethos—ease, bliss, and luxury, just like the flexible workday perk it's named after. Now, imagine a product that blends that breezy California edge with the innovation and radiance of beauty's most popular skin care capital. Summer Fridays' last launch took us to the tropics with a guava-inspired balm. With its latest offering, we're off to Korea. 'It's true that Korea is one of the global leaders in skin innovation. As we started to develop a product like this, we wanted to really focus on prevention, but also on gentleness,' explains Kendall Johnson, senior director of product development and packaging at Summer Fridays. 'Korea marries science and sensorial formulations. As we started to work with a specific Korean lab, we were able to find that perfect balance between effective exfoliation and daily comfort in the pad.' Hydration is Summer Fridays' love language. From lip balms laced with shea and murumuru seed butters to hyaluronic acid-rich formulas like the Jet Lag Mask + Moisturizer, Deep Hydration Serum, and Skin Soothing Hydration Mist, the brand has built an empire on moisture. Then came the corrective era—vitamin C, retinol, and firming eye serums—proof that Summer Fridays could do more than quench skin's thirst. The Gentle Reset Daily Exfoliating Pads ($42) sit right in the middle: a marriage of correction and hydration 'without compromise,' says co-founder Lauren Ireland. Safe for all skin types, it's tailored for sensitive skin. Each double-sided pad sits in a blend of glycolic, lactic, and mandelic acids—exfoliation's all-stars—tempered with PHA gluconolactone, aloe water, and glycerin to keep irritation in check. 'Glycolic, lactic, mandelic—all of these ingredients are effective and give you the full chemical exfoliation experience, but they're a little smaller in size in molecular weight, so that they can be a little bit harsher on the skin. The PHA gluconolactone is a much larger molecule, which still gives you that chemical exfoliation, but it's a little less harsh at the same time, so you still get those results,' Johnson adds. As someone with acne-prone skin, I've long loved Korean toner pads for their conditioning abilities—especially when my weekly retinol, clindamycin, and benzoyl peroxide rotation leaves my skin a bit dry. Still, they've never made a real dent in the evidence of my pimple-picking past. These pads were different; they're deceptively potent—never stinging or peeling my skin—and ultra calming. Unlike the balms, there's no smell, just a chic suede-textured box that houses 30 individually wrapped pads—smart for travel and even smarter for consistency. 'Every pad delivers the same results,' co-founder Marianna Hewitt notes. 'With jars, the top pads can dry out and leave only the bottom pads soaked, so you don't get the same experience with every pad. [Gentle Reset Daily Exfoliating Pads] ensure that youre skin is getting the same amount of juice each time and perfect for on-the-go use.' One side is textured, the other smooth—my acne-prone skin prefers the grit for a satisfying degunking. Post-use, my face looks like I just had a deep-cleansing facial—minus the redness or bumps manual exfoliation often causes. With these, you get exfoliation and glow all in one step without ever leaving your home. By day four, the glow was still there, but the breakouts weren't. The rogue cheek spot I'd been battling for weeks was noticeably lighter. One week in, my skin feels like it's finally on my side—supple, smooth, and almost smug about it. Not to mention my makeup routine shrank to a dab of concealer, powder, blush, and done. My mornings are easier, and my period calendar feels a little less ominous. At a recent work meeting, I walked in to a chorus of publicists saying, 'Your skin looks amazing.' Call it vanity, but for me, that's the ultimate litmus test of a product's success. And over a week later, the compliments haven't stopped.

I've slept on dozens of sheets in search of my forever pair. Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets are the one.

As a hot sleeper who loves snuggling in bed with velvety sheets, bamboo fabric is my best friend. I'm always preaching the gospel of the best bamboo sheets when people ask me for bedding recommendations. Imagine the feel of a cotton sateen sheet without all the sweating, a piece of bedding that's both soft AND breathable. Pure magic. Bamboo sheets are, undoubtedly, one of my favorite bedding materials especially when it comes to cooling sheets. Earlier this year, I reviewed the Quince Bamboo Sheet Set. I loved them, thinking that no bamboo sheets could possibly top their silky, cool-to-the-touch feel. But when I tried Cozy Earth's Bamboo Sheet Set, I was proven wrong. Cozy Earth specializes in premium bedding and is known for high-quality bamboo products like sheets, pajamas, and duvets. These sheets are literally the softest I've ever used, making crawling into bed at night one of the best parts of my day. Here's how Cozy Earth's sheets became my favorite of all time — the sheets I want on my bed forever. Design and materials Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets are crafted from viscose from bamboo — a material made from bamboo fibers. Bamboo is a naturally cooling and breathable material that's also incredibly soft. I recommend bamboo for hot sleepers who crave softness without trapping heat. Cozy Earth's sheets come in 11 soft, neutral colors like oat and dove gray in sizes ranging from twin/twin XL to California king, including a split king. I tried the Peony shade, a gorgeous soft pink. There aren't any bright colors or fun designs — a bit of a bummer if you love vibrant or patterned sheets like me — but this is probably attributed to the fact that Cozy Earth avoids using harsh dyes in its products. Recently, Cozy Earth added two new simple pinstripe sets to the collection — it's first prints. Cozy Earth sells its sheets in sets with a fitted and flat sheet and two pillowcases (one if buying a twin), with no option to buy pieces individually or sans flat sheet. They also offer the bamboo bedding in a duvet cover and sell bundles if you want to buy everything in one go. For instance, the core bundle includes a bamboo duvet cover and two extra pillowcases. The fitted sheet has a pocket depth of 20 inches and will fit on the deepest of mattresses. Even the top sheet is a little oversized to fully engulf your mattress. Our review of the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set Comfort and cooling Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets might literally be the most comfortable sheets I've ever tried — and I'm a tricky customer. I'm a hot sleeper, so I prioritize cooling and breathability above all else. At the same time, I also love the silky softness that usually comes with warmer sheets like cotton sateen or flannel. It's nearly impossible to find a set of sheets that do both, but somehow, Cozy Earth has done it. First of all, these sheets are, no exaggeration, the absolute softest sheets that I've ever used. Bamboo is known for its softness, but Cozy Earth's sheets go a step beyond, with an ultra-velvety feel. When I slip into bed between Cozy Earth's sheets, I feel the stress and worries of the day melt away. Even my boyfriend — who is sensitive to certain textures and picky about his bedding — attests that these sheets are fantastic. Before I started testing bedding, we used a fleece blanket instead of a top sheet, since we liked the softness against our skin. My boyfriend has been resistant to the top sheet change, but the bamboo top sheet is so soft we don't even think about the fleece blanket anymore (although I still understand and respect those who prefer not to use a top sheet). But they're not just soft: they're breathable and cooling, too. I tested these sheets in the peak of summer when Indiana was going through its humid cornsweat season, and it's like a fiery swamp outside. Despite these conditions, I slept easily each night. Even when testing specific cooling sheets, there's always been at least one night that I wake up in a sweat, but I'm happy to report that I never experienced this with Cozy Earth's sheets on my bed. At the same time, though, I was never too cold — I always felt perfectly comfortable with a regulated temperature. A perfect fit Cozy Earth's sheets also fit the bed well. I'm a restless sleeper, so I need a sheet that fits snugly on my mattress without slipping off at night. I'm impressed by Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets because they fit on my mattress, regardless of height. I've been testing mattress toppers, adding three to four inches to my already thick mattress, but these sheets can handle it, with 20-inch deep pockets. Made to last Beyond softness, where Cozy Earth sheets stand out is in their durability. I've washed this set four times, and despite a small loss of sheen, I've noticed no difference in the sheet's texture. There's no pilling, loose threads, or visible scratches. Plus, the sheets feel even softer after each wash. The durability is especially impressive, given that my dog likes to nest with his claws before he goes to sleep. Other sheets I've tried have given way to his nails, either snagging or ripping completely, but Cozy Earth's bamboo set has stayed strong. I'm looking forward to continuing to wash and use this set to observe it for signs of wear and tear. They still look as good as new after months, and if my predictions are correct, they'll hold up to years of use. Care The Cozy Earth bamboo sheets are simple to care for and follow standard wash instructions. I wash with detergent with cool or cold water on a gentle setting, then transfer them to the dryer to tumble dry on low. I recommend removing the sheets from the dryer right away, as they tend to wrinkle when left in the dryer for too long. Cozy Earth also suggests washing sheets separately, especially from towels to avoid lint. I was careful not to use fabric softeners or harsh chemicals like bleach, which can break down the bamboo fibers. For more tips on caring for bamboo sheets, I recommend checking out our how to wash sheets article. Value Cozy Earth bamboo sheets are expensive — a queen-size set will cost $297. They're extraordinarily comfortable and durable, but I think they're a tad overpriced, especially compared to competitors. Fortunately, Cozy Earth frequently runs promotions around holiday shopping events like Memorial Day or Black Friday, where I've noticed you can save as much as 35% off. Cozy Earth offers a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty. If you decide they aren't for you within 100 nights, you can return them for a full refund. The sheets are protected from "pilling, abnormal rips and tears, and workmanship defects" within 10 years of the purchase date. If you use your warranty, you'll receive a replacement product. Cons to consider The main drawback? These sheets are expensive. Almost $300 for a queen-size set is nothing to sneeze at. Bamboo sheets are, in general, more expensive than cotton sheets, but Cozy Earth's bamboo set is one of the most expensive on the market. You're paying for quality and durability, so it's a worthwhile investment, but it's definitely not a small expense. Otherwise, we've noticed that the sheets lose their sheen after washing, something that Cozy Earth notes is normal for bamboo sheets. The sheets are on the thinner side, which helps with their airiness, but light colors are see-through. I can see my mattress and pillow logos through the fitted sheet and pillowcase. If that will bother you, I'd opt for a darker color like navy or charcoal. Mattress and pillow protectors can also help for a seamless, logo-free look. As you can see by the pictures, the sheets are also prone to wrinkling, even when cared for properly. It's difficult to get a crisp, clean, made bed look with the top sheet. What are your alternatives? The best overall pick in our best bamboo sheets guide is the Quince Bamboo Sheet Set. Like Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets, Quince's version is made with 100% viscose from bamboo for silky, cooling sheets. Quince's sheets aren't as durable as the Cozy Earth sheets — they're prone to pilling and loose threads.. I've tried both and ultimately prefer the feeling of the Cozy Earth sheets, since they're much thicker. Even so, Quince's bamboo sheet set is hundreds of dollars less than Cozy Earth's set, so they're much more affordable. Read our Quince Bamboo Sheet Set review. For affordable bamboo sheets, I recommend the Bampure Bamboo Sheet Set. The fitted sheet has an additional corner strap elastic band, so you won't have to worry about your top sheet slipping off the bed. For more recommendations, read our best bamboo sheets and best sheets guides. The bottom line The Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set is one of the best investments you can make for your bed. The set is a splurge, but it's impressively durable, with a generous trial and warranty policy. If you're on the hunt for the softest set of breathable sheets and you're willing to spend a little extra, I wholly recommend Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets.
