Tyreek Hill lobbies for Jalen Ramsey to stay with Dolphins despite trade buzz

New York Post3 hours ago

Tyreek Hill does not want the Jalen Ramsey to leave South Beach.
Hill told the Fanatics Fest crowd on Saturday that he was hard at work to get his star cornerback to stay, despite Ramsey having been on the trade block for months.
'I'm going to hang out with Ramsey,' Hill said, 'I'm going to get him back, full-court press, I'm getting him, Ramsey, back in a Dolphins jersey.'

Keeping Ramsey in Miami will be a challenging task for both Hill and Dolphins brass.
The 30-year-old was named the best cornerback in the NFL three times and is a seven-time Pro Bowler.

As the No. 5-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey quickly became for defensive force for the Jaguars, eventually moving to the Rams in a midseason 2019 trade.
Since coming to Miami in a 2023 deal with the Rams, his production has trended downward.

Ramsey has played in 27 games with the Dolphins, recording five interceptions and 16 pass deflections over the past two years.

The main reason Miami might send him to another team is due to his contract: In 2024, Ramsey signed a three-year extension worth $72 million. At the time, that made him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
With Ramsey's $24 million cap hit, his contract would be one of the first that would need to go if the Dolphins' front office wants to enter a rebuild.
Currently, Miami is positioned between a playoff contender and a team that may need to enter a rebuild sooner rather than later.

It's not enough to deter Hill, the speedy star wideout.
'He's a dog. He's one of the best corners in the league, man.' he said of Ramsey. 'Great leader, great teammate too, though. That's what he doesn't get a lot of credit for.'

Commanders owner buys Jayden Daniels rookie card for $500,000

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels had a rookie season to remember in 2024. And over the weekend, one of his biggest supporters spent half a million dollars to have a keepsake of the special season. During last weekend's Fanatics Fest, Commanders principal owner Josh Harris bought Daniels' rookie card for $500,000. It is the most money ever spent on a Daniels football card, according to ESPN. The card, a 1-of-1 numbered Black Finite Prizm card, was worth at least $200,000 before it even initially was discovered in a pack. Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is also married to tennis star Serena Williams, had offered a bounty of $200,000 to whoever found the card. A post shared by Rothcards • Sports Cards & Youtube Vlogs (@rothcards) JAYDEN DANIELS: Commanders QB 'excited' for Deebo Samuel to juice up his stats The Athletic reported that the card finally emerged during a Fanatics Live stream on New Year's Day, and the original owner eventually sold it to Florida-based trading card collectors Rothcards for more than $300,000 earlier this year. Rothcards' Josh Roth and Jacob Ramos initially asked for $2 million for the card during Daniels and Harris' on-stage appearance at Fanatics Fest, citing the sale of Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes' baseball card for more than $1 million in March. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin negotiated down to a $500,000 sale to Harris in front of the crowd, and Roth agreed to make the sale. Roth and Ramos also received a signed Daniels jersey as part of the deal, according to The Athletic. Multiple outlets reported that Harris plans to display the unique card at Northwest Stadium, the home of the Commanders. In 2024, Daniels threw for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions and a 69% completion rate. He led Washington to a 12-5 record during the regular season and took them to the NFC championship game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Dolphins' Tyreek Hill's race with Noah Lyles canceled due to ‘personal reasons'

The post Dolphins' Tyreek Hill's race with Noah Lyles canceled due to 'personal reasons' appeared first on ClutchPoints. The buzz was palpable, and the anticipation was through the roof. But just a few days before the big showdown, Noah Lyles dropped the bombshell that his highly anticipated sprint against Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was off the table. Advertisement At the Sport Beach event in Cannes, France, Lyles shared with reporters that the one-on-one race, originally set to unfold in the bustling heart of Manhattan, had been canceled due to personal reasons. 'We were very deep into creating the event,' Lyles said. 'It was supposed to happen this weekend. Unfortunately, there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn't come to pass.' The event was meant to be huge, with Times Square shutting down, billboards, sponsorships, and cameras everywhere. Lyles and Hill had been building up the race for months through social media banter and playful interviews. What started as an online challenge turned into what Lyles called a full-scale production that sponsors didn't initially take seriously. 'A lot of people didn't believe it to be true,' Lyles said. 'The companies didn't believe it's real.' Advertisement The planned distance was between 40 and 100 meters, a middle ground between Hill's football background and Lyles' track specialty. It could have settled the ongoing debate about who the fastest man is. Lyles even won Olympic gold with a record time of 9.78 seconds in the 100 meters just last year. In the meantime, Hill kept running, just not against Lyles. The Dolphins wide receiver posted a personal best of 10.15 seconds in a 100-meter dash during a track meet in California. After finishing, he held up a sign saying, 'Noah could never,' echoing Lyles' earlier message, 'Tyreek could never.' Despite the friendly banter and the build-up, it looks like the race will remain a what-if. Lyles admitted he tried to make it happen, but the timing did not work out. Hill has not commented directly on the cancellation.
