Supermodel wife of drunk Virgin Atlantic passenger who threatened to rape flight attendant defends husband's vile outburst

New York Post17 hours ago
The supermodel wife of the disgraced executive jailed for threatening to rape a flight attendant defended her husband days after he was sentenced for the harrowing incident.
Abeer Rizvi suggested her husband Salman Iftikhar's mental health issues were the reason for his vile, first-class tirade directed at Virgin Atlantic flight attendant Angie Walsh during an eight-hour flight in 2023.
'Mental health is not a joke. Behind every story, there's pain you don't see,' Rizvi wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday.
'Before judging, try understanding,' she said. 'Be kind. Be human.'
Iftikhar, the founder of recruitment firm Staffing Match, is married to both Rizvi and Erum Salman, according to the Daily Mail.

Rizvi lives in Pakistan, where she operates a salon and posts glitzy photos of herself on social media to her half a million followers on TikTok and Instagram.
Iftikhar was traveling from London, England, to Lahore, Pakistan, with Salman and their three kids when he became intoxicated and disruptive on Feb. 7, 2023.
The 37-year-old father of three was downing champagne in front of his children during the flight's first-meal service when he reached over the counter and began grabbing ice for himself using his hands, according to the Mirror.
Cabin crew staffers reprimanded Iftikhar, telling him to go back to his seat when the crazed passenger launched into his tirade.
'Don't tell me what to do, you racist f–king bitch. I know where you are from in Cardiff,' Iftikhar screamed during the flight, according to the outlet.

Iftikhar attempted to fight male flight attendant Tommy Merchant before escalating the situation and horrifyingly identifying the hotel room Walsh would be staying in at the Avari Lahore Hotel.
'The white sheep s–ing bitch will be dead. The floor of your hotel will be blown up and it will disappear,' Iftikhar shouted, according to the Mirror. 'You will be dragged by your hair from your room and gang-raped and set on fire.'

Officials managed to get the hotheaded executive to return to his seat and Iftikhar was allowed off the flight without any police intervention in Pakistan.
Police in England arrested Iftikhar at his $1.2 million home in Iver, England, on March 16, 2024.
Staffing Match, which Iftikhar and Salmar ran, went bankrupt after amassing $22.8 million of debt following the executive's arrest, the Daily Mail reported.
Iftikhar admitted to making the threats to kill and the racial harassment of Walsh during the flight, but denied any harassment charges stemming from his altercation with Merchant.

Iftikhar was sentenced to 15 months in prison for his outburst on Tuesday during a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court.
Walsh testified during the hearing, saying she was left traumatized from the incident and forced to take 14 months off work in the aftermath.
'I am a strong, brave, happy stewardess, and loved my job. I am well-known within the company. I have been flying with Virgin Atlantic for 37 years. I was working when all flights were grounded on 9/11, and I've even flown into a warzone. But this incident has broken me,' she read in a victim impact statement.
'Never in my entire career flying for 37 years have I not been sure what to do. I have had the best career in the world for 37 years. But he has taken that away from me,' she added.
8 Rizvi won the Pakistani reality show Veet Supermodel of the Year in 2012.

Virgin Atlantic supported Walsh for her bravery in speaking out during Iftikhar's court hearing.
'The safety and security of our customers and crew is always our top priority, and we take a zero-tolerance approach to any disruptive or abusive behaviour on board our aircraft,' a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson told The Post. 'We will always work closely with the relevant authorities and will not hesitate to seek prosecution for those individuals who cause disruption onboard through unacceptable behaviour.'
'We're incredibly grateful to Angie and our cabin crew onboard who dealt with this distressing situation in a calm, courageous and professional manner. We are proud of Angie for her bravery in court and we will continue to offer her our full support.'
Salman hasn't publicly commented on her husband's jail sentence.

$30K worth of viral Labubu dolls snatched from California shop: ‘Still in shock'

What a bunch of little monsters! A crew of masked bandits broke into a California toy shop and snatched $30,000 worth of wildly popular Labubu dolls — passing up cash and electronics for the trendy collectables, according to footage and a store owner. Four thieves allegedly smashed a glass door at One Stop Sales in La Puente and made off with tens of thousands of dollars of the viral monsters — a cross between a Cabbage Patch Doll and a Gremlin with bunny ears — at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, said co-owner Joanna Avendano. Malik Beasley evicted from Detroit apartment in latest financial blow during gambling probe

Former Pistons guard and current free agent Malik Beasley was evicted from his Detroit apartment Wednesday amid alleged financial troubles and the FBI's investigation into purported gambling activity involving NBA games and prop bets, according to The Detroit News. This eviction came following two lawsuits after Beasley, 28, failed to pay rent for his downtown high-rise apartment at The Stott, which is part of Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert's business ventures, per the report. Advertisement The landlord has sued Beasley twice this year after he did not pay a 'collective' $21,500 in rent, according to the paper. Beasley, 28, reportedly did not respond to the second lawsuit, which alleged he did not pay $7,355, leading to a default judgment being filed against the guard Wednesday. 3 Malik Beasley during a 2025 NBA playoffs game vs. the Knicks. Getty Images Advertisement The outlet further reported that the case is pending. This development continues what has been a rough offseason for Beasley, who reportedly had been discussing a three-year, $42 million deal to return to the Pistons after a strong showing this past season before the revelation of the gambling probe in June. At least one U.S. sportsbook noted 'unusual heavy betting interest' regarding his statistics, with such wagers called prop bets, during the 2023-24 season when he played for the Bucks, according to ESPN. 3 Malik Beasley hoists a shot against the Knicks during the playoffs. Charles Wenzelberg/New York Post Advertisement 'An investigation is not a charge,' Steve Haney, Beasley's attorney, said to ESPN in June. 'Malik is afforded the same right of the presumption of innocence as anyone else under the U.S. Constitution. As of now he has not been charged with anything.' As the investigation came to light, details emerged about his financial troubles. ESPN reported how Beasley's former marketing agency sued him for failing to pay back a $650,000 advance, with the company alleging 'financial issues' for the NBAer. 3 Malik Beasley in a message he posted recently to Snapchat. @Pistons__Talk/X Advertisement The Detroit News further revealed how Beasley accrued multiple debts to a barber, dentist, landlord and lender, and had been the subject of lawsuits. That July report noted the pair of lawsuits against him filed by the Detroit apartment. Beasley recently broke his silence amid the scandals while responding to questions on Snapchat, indicating his desire to return to the NBA. Warning: Graphic language 'I feel like people turned they backs on me,' Beasley said. 'Low key, people were saying some crazy things in the media. If you go on Instagram, you'll see the craziest s–t. People judging you. 'Have I made mistakes in my life? Yes. Am I proud of those mistakes? No. I'm human, but I know what I know. … Until something else is done, then I just gotta stay positive, stay low key. … I got a chip on my shoulder. I'm ready to destroy anybody in front of me, I'm ready to prove again that I belong in this league. For those who know me, I work too hard, I work every day. I put basketball before anything.' Advertisement Beasley signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Pistons before the 2024-25 season and finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting after averaging 16.3 points per game. The gambling probe raises uncertainty about whether he will join a roster for this upcoming season.
