Mohit Suri Wishes Anurag Basu, Kartik Aaryan Luck For Their Next: ‘But if Mahesh Bhatt Isn't…'
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara's rampage at the box office continues, having broken records within its first weekend. It has not only grabbed the attention of the audience but also members from the film fraternity, who have taken to social media and heaped praises on the film. And one among them is Anurag Basu. On Saturday, the filmmaker wrote on X, 'Mohito!! Tight jhappi! You're an absolute rockstar! Hands down, this is your best work yet. I legit cried like a heartbroken teenager during the climax. Thank you for giving us two incredible actors! Bravo, maestro (sic)."
Recently, Mohit Suri opened up about how the makers (T-Series) of Kartik Aaryan's untitled next had approached him to make the film, but he stepped down when they rushed him to announce it with the star cast. And that's when Anurag came into the picture. Mohit, on the other hand, began developing his own script, which went on to be produced by YRF as Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. And in March this year, reports started doing the rounds about similarities between both the film.
Now, speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Mohit reveals receiving a call from Anurag after he made an exit from the project. 'He told me that they had offered him the opportunity to make the sequel. He probably had a script in mind and they decided to make the film with him," he recalls. Touching upon the title row the film is embroiled in, he further adds, 'Now, what the equation between Bhushan (Kumar) ji and Mukesh (Bhatt) ji is, I don't know. Sometimes, they love each other and sometimes, they hate each other. That's between them."
But it hasn't created any rift between Mohit and Anurag. In fact, he only has good wishes for Anurag's film in his heart. 'I call him dada. He's someone I had assisted. I had worked under him. It's not like he has stepped into something that was mine. I really look up to him. But I don't know what's happening there. I was too consumed with Saiyaara. I wish them all the luck and praise. But to be honest, I don't know if Aashiqui 3 is being made or not," Mohit says.
But what bothers him is the absence of Mahesh Bhatt from the picture. 'For me, Aashiqui 2 wasn't just about the producers. It was also about what Mithoon, Ankit (Tiwari), Jeet (Gannguli) dada, Adi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Shraddha (Kapoor) added to it. But most of all, it was about a man called Mahesh Bhatt who was a part of it. He started the Aashiqui franchise. He directed the first Aashiqui film. In a company that was only making thrillers, he pushed for me and allowed me to make a love story. Right now, he isn't in the milieu. And if he's not there, it's not Aashiqui for me," he asserts.

Tamannaah Bhatia Swears By Morning 'Thook' For Pimples, Fans Say ‘It Actually Works'
Last Updated: Tamannaah Bhatia says she uses morning spit on her face to prevent pimples before brushing. Social media reacts, some call it effective, others call it risky. Tamannaah Bhatia, fondly known as the 'Milky Beauty' in the South Indian film industry, has always left fans curious about the secret behind her flawless skin. Recently, she made a surprising revelation that's left the internet buzzing. In an interaction with The Lallantop, Tamannaah shared a rather unconventional skincare ritual: she uses her morning saliva on her face to avoid pimples and it must be done before brushing her teeth. When Tamannaah casually mentioned this morning ritual during the interview, the room collectively gasped. Even the host appeared visibly stunned. 'Before brushing, just thook (spit)," she laughed, leaving everyone in splits. But she was serious and it turns out she's not alone in this. As clips from the interview went viral, many social media users came forward to agree with Tamannaah's unique hack. One fan commented, 'I thought I was the only one doing that," while another added, 'She is true, using this hack since years." Some even claimed the method works for eye infections as well, citing old household remedies. 'The saliva immediately after you wake up… use it for eye infection… it works there too," read one comment. However, not everyone is convinced. Several users raised concerns about the scientific validity of the trick. One sceptical user explained, 'Saliva does have antibacterial enzymes, but they are not strong enough to treat acne-causing bacteria effectively. Pimples are caused by more than just bacteria—clogged pores, excess oil, and inflammation play a big part. Saliva doesn't fix those." Despite the polarising opinions, the conversation sparked by Tamannaah's beauty secret has been an interesting mix of surprise, nostalgia, and debate. Whether you believe in the 'morning spit remedy" or not, it certainly makes for a memorable skincare confession. On the work front, Tamannaah was recently seen grooving to the track Nasha from Raid 2. She will next be seen opposite Ajay Devgn in Ranger. Additionally, she is also working on TVF's ambitious mythological project Vvan alongside Sidharth Malhotra. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
