Despite winning their last five meetings, Alcaraz isn't taking anything for granted heading into the Wimbledon final. He downplayed any perceived advantage over his Italian rival, acknowledging that Sinner is a quick learner - someone who will no doubt bring the lessons from their French Open showdown into Sunday's clash.
'Not at all to be honest. What Jannik has is because he learned from everything, like the huge champion he is. From the losses. From the matches he's playing. He just gets better after every match and every day,' Alcaraz said in the press conference after beating Taylor Fritz.
'I'm pretty sure he's gonna take a lot of things from the French Open final. He's gonna be better physically and mentally. He's gonna be prepared on Sunday to give his 100 per cent. I'm not thinking I have an advantage mentally because of that match,' Alcaraz added.
Guess who was the last player to beat Carlos Alcaraz at the Wimbledon? Jannik Sinner. Their only meeting on grass came in the 2022 pre-quarters, where Sinner took down Alcaraz in four sets: 6-1, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.
But fast-forward to now, and the tables have turned. With Alcaraz in sizzling form, he may just hold the edge - though Sinner knows what it takes to beat him on this very surface.
The upcoming clash is expected to be a thriller, especially after the duo faced off in the longest-ever French Open, extending 5 hours and 29 minutes.
Alcaraz was two sets down before he came back to win the match 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6.
It was also the second-longest Grand Slam final after the 2012 Australian Open where Rafael Nadal and Djokovic fought it out for five hours and 53 minutes.
In their head-to-head battles, Carlos Alcaraz holds a commanding 8-4 lead over Jannik Sinner.
And if you narrow the lens to just the past two years, the numbers tilt even more heavily in Alcaraz's favour - he's won five straight against the Italian.
The last time Sinner triumphed was at the 2023 Beijing Open semifinals.

He's racked up 24 consecutive wins, clinching titles at the Italian Open, French Open, and Queen's Club (HSBC Championships) - and now, he's one win away from a historic Wimbledon three-peat.
He's also riding a 20-match winning streak at Wimbledon.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are all set for a blockbuster grand finale of the men's singles at Wimbledon on Centre Court.
Sinner will be looking to win his maiden title at the All England Club after decimating 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semi-final on Friday.
Alcaraz, on the other hand, is looking to become only the fifth man after Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, and Djokovic to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles.

FC Seoul vs Barcelona: Lamine Yamal scores first as Barca no.10, woos fans with left-footed stunner in friendly

Lamine Yamal scored his first goal as a Barcelona No.10 after the Spaniard caught FC Seoul goalkeeper off-guard with his left-footed stunner during their pre-season friendly on Thursday. The clash against FC Seoul is Barcelona's second match in their Asian tour 2025, after a 3-1 win over Japan's Vissel Kobe a few days ago. An iconic number, which was worn by legendary Lionel Messi, Yamal was given the coveted no.10 jersey by club president Joan Laporta last month on June 16 - the day when the 18-year-old signed a contract that will keep him with the La Liga giants until 2031. The Spanish international didn't waste much time as Yamal tormented the FC Seoul defenders from the onset. Yamal's first shot at goal came in the eighth minute as the youngster got going on the right wing and shoot from the near post. However, his shot hit the post to fall into the path of Robert Lewandowski, who did the rest with a simple tap in. His moment of brilliance came six minutes later when Lamalcut in from the right after stealing possession of the ball and gets his shot blocked. On rebound, the ball once again fell in front of Yamal, who made no mistake in the finding the bottom corner of the goalkeeper's near post. Yamal's goal goal also wooed the South Koeran fans who have come to the stadium to watch their favourite start live in action. The new No.10 added another to his tally as the youngster cut back again to steer the ball past the goalkeeper after an assist from Dani Olmo at the stroke of half-time. Post the clash against FC Seoul, Barcelona will be playing against Daegu FC in the final clash of their 2025 Asian Tour on August 4 which will be played at the Daegu Stadium. Post that Barcelona will head back to Spain and prepare for the upcoming season of La Liga.

Holger Rune Trains With Tennis Icon Andre Agassi Ahead Of US Open: WATCH

Holger Rune's training with Andre Agassi provided valuable insights into the mindset of the eight-time Grand Slam champion, which he hopes will elevate his game. World No. 9 Holger Rune says his brief training stint with Andre Agassi provided rare insight into the mindset of the eight-time Grand Slam champion: one that the Danish star hopes will help elevate his own game. Rune, who burst onto the scene in 2022 with a stunning Masters title in Paris—where he defeated four top-10 players, including Novak Djokovic in the final—has struggled to maintain that momentum. Since that breakthrough, the 22-year-old has added only two more titles and has yet to progress beyond the quarterfinal stage at a Grand Slam. With peers like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner now dominating the top tier of men's tennis, Rune sought fresh inspiration, linking up with American legend Agassi earlier this month for a three-day training session in Washington. 'It was insane. I've never met a guy who sees tennis that way, and I found it interesting," Rune told the Tennis Channel during the Canadian Open in Toronto. Rune praised Agassi for simplifying the game in a way that immediately resonated with him. 'He makes things simple on the court. Sometimes tennis can be a difficult sport, and sometimes it can be a very easy sport. There's always a reason why it's this or that," he explained. 'Some of the advice he gave me was very helpful. To share those three days, for him to get a look at my game, it was just amazing. My coach Lars Christensen appreciated it too—they talked a little bit, and we're still in touch." Learning from a Legend—Even Without Growing Up Watching Him Although Rune was too young to witness Agassi's dominance in real time, he said studying the American's old matches online helped him appreciate his unique playing style. 'I've watched so many YouTube clips of him and how he was taking the ball early," Rune said. 'It was so clear to see how he was making life easy for himself on the court. It was a bit before my time, so I didn't grow up watching Andre. But to look back at how tennis was then was really interesting to see." Rune recently defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Toronto and is set to face Alexandre Muller next as he fine-tunes his game ahead of the U.S. Open, scheduled for August 24 to September 7. Former Barcelona Player Rushed To Surgery After Genitals Get Bitten By Raging Dog In Greece

Dogs love having a ball, literally. Well, Carles Perez sure learnt the same the hard way. The former Barcelona and current Aris Thessaloniki winger has been sidelined due to a groin injury sustained in a dog attack, as reported by Spanish media on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Spaniard was walking his own dog when he was bitten in the genitals by another dog while trying to separate the animals. The incident resulted in a deep wound that required hospital treatment. Perez may need surgery and has reportedly already received six stitches to close the wound. Currently on loan in the Greek Super League from Celta Vigo, Perez was treated at a private hospital in Panorama, a suburb of Thessaloniki. He is under observation and will be taking some time off the pitch with no specified return date, missing his side's Conference League qualification match against Araz-Naxçıvan PFK. Perez played in the Greek team's 2–1 defeat against Araz-Nakhchivan in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. The Spaniard is aiming to rejuvenate his career in Thessaloniki following a loan deal with an option to buy. Despite his previous loan spell at Getafe, he did not secure a permanent move, and Celta Vigo has been seeking a transfer for him for several months. The ex-Barcelona youth player has made just one appearance for his new club before being abruptly halted by the injury. Perez played the full 90 minutes in Aris' first-leg defeat against Araz-Naxçıvan. Perez made 13 senior appearances for Barcelona before moving on loan to Serie A side Roma, where he was obligated to stay, scoring eight goals in 75 appearances as the club won the Conference League. After two seasons, he returned to La Liga with Celta on loan, which eventually became a permanent move.
