Clayton Kershaw Calls Cardinals 'Bush League' For Showing Postseason Highlight

Photo byThe Cardinals showed the highlight clip before Kershaw's start on Sunday afternoon, and the left-hander had some words to say about the replay. After seeing the clip, Kershaw said, "I think it's a little bush league, but I don't expect anything less from these guys. So, it's no worries."
Playing highlights from the past is nothing new in baseball; every team around the league will show highlights of nostalgic moments in its history when opponents come to town. As Brendan Schaeffer of STL Sports Central put it, "It's just a way to fire up the crowd -- it's an entertainment business, after all."
The clip was for the fans, and while Kershaw is one of the last remaining of a dying breed of pitchers, and he has earned every ounce of respect, his low moments should not be off limits and are in no way bush league. The Cardinals were Kershaw's kryptonite in the postseason, and with an opportunity to sweep the defending World Series champions in hand, the Cardinals opted to show a clip of them beating up on the Dodgers legend.
Kershaw is allowed to take offense to the clip being shown, but he should not act as if such a thing is taboo in the world of baseball. Kershaw would get the last laugh of the day as his Dodgers would defeat the Cardinals 7-3 in the series finale after a masterful performance by the lefty.
