Real Madrid breakout star attract interest from Premier League

Gonzalo Garcia was one of the standout players in the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup.
The youngster scored as many as four goals, helping Real Madrid secure a semifinal spot in the competition. He was also the only Real Madrid player to be included in the Team of the Tournament.

Garcia's breakthrough has led to major speculation over his future, especially considering the fact that he was close to leaving the club before the Club World Cup.
Premier League clubs interested in Garcia
Although recent reports suggests Real Madrid have closed the door on Garcia's exit following his breakthrough at the Club World Cup, it appears the forward is attracting interest from Premier League.
According to Mundo Deportivo, a host of Premier League clubs are keeping close tabs on Gonzalo Garcia's progress, hoping to lure him away from Santiago Bernabeu.

Sunderland, Leeds United and West Ham United are among the clubs interested in the services of Garcia.
All of these three clubs are determined to sign Garcia for next season. However, they are aware that striking a deal could be difficult as the forward is closer to staying at Real Madrid than leaving the club.
Real Madrid, for their part, are yet to make a final decision over Garcia's future but that could come soon as the club look to draw a roadmap for the young forward.
Real Madrid will be aware that giving Garcia regular game-time will be difficult, especially with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo also fighting for places in the first-team.
However, given Xabi Alonso's ability to nurture young talents, Los Blancos might just fancy keeping hold of the talented forward this summer.

Image: First look at Barcelona's El Clasico leaked kit for 2025/26 season

The first glimpse of FC Barcelona's fourth kit for the 2025/26 season, designed especially for El Clasico, has been leaked online by X user @memorabilia1899. The kit pays tribute to one of the club's most iconic wins – the 3-0 away victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 19 November 2005. As a special nod to that night, the minutes of the three goals (14, 58, and 77) are printed inside the collar of the shirt. A trip down the memory lane This new edition is not just a simple throwback. While it draws inspiration from the legendary match, it takes a modern turn in terms of design and colour. The shirt moves away from the traditional vertical blaugrana stripes and instead features a bold zig-zag pattern in deep blue and red. To make things more vibrant, lighter blue graphic details are added across the shirt, giving it a fresh and slightly experimental look. The colour scheme officially includes Gym Blue, Salsa Red, and Opti Yellow, although this version of Opti Yellow appears much brighter than fans might be used to. A Shift from the usual tradition One major change fans will notice is the departure from the usual La Senyera design, which has commonly been used as Barcelona's fourth kit in recent years. This 2025/26 version marks a clear break from that pattern. While the La Senyera may still appear in rare or commemorative matches, this kit will become the club's new fourth-choice strip moving forward. Despite the historical inspiration, not all fans are thrilled with the look. Some believe the zig-zag design feels a bit out of place for such a legendary tribute. Still, the shirt is expected to create buzz among collectors and supporters who value the emotional weight of that famous 3-0 win in Madrid. Stay tuned for official confirmation and images as Barça prepare to unveil the kit.

Youri Tielemans gives honest Champions League verdict after Aston Villa disappointment

If Aston Villa achieve their goals in the upcoming campaign, Youri Tielemans will play a key role. The club's player of the season last term, Tielemans is one appearance shy of a century in claret and blue after joining on a free transfer from Leicester City two summers ago - a move that has proven to be an excellent pick-up. Tielemans essentially replaced Douglas Luiz last summer, despite already being in Emery's squad, and quickly dispelled any fears about how Villa would cope without the Brazilian. After posting 11 goal contributions in his first season at Villa, Tielemans managed 15 in the last campaign, also ranking in the Premier League's top 10 for metrics like key passes, passes into the final third, progressive passes, through balls, and even tackles won. 'I was very consistent in most of the games,' Tielemans said in an exclusive interview with BirminghamLive in Nashville. 'I actually felt stronger and stronger as the season went on. I am very happy with last season, but now I want to build on that, stay consistent and help the team to hopefully achieve our targets.' Villa are currently out in the States, gearing up for a third full season under Unai Emery, who has transformed the club since replacing Steven Gerrard in November 2022. Tielemans was the first summer signing Emery made as Villa manager. Although it took him time to adapt to what the Spaniard wanted from him on the pitch, he has become a crucial element of the team. After starting in the 2-2 draw with Frankfurt on Saturday, the Belgian will step up his fitness in the coming days and weeks, with Villa playing MLS sides St. Louis and Nashville this week, followed by matches against AS Roma, Marseille, and Villarreal next week. 'We know how training camps are, we are out on the grass trying to put some movements together and plans for when the season starts,' the midfielder continued. 'We also have physical work and it is really good to be together for a period of time. You just want to enjoy the time with each other and get to know each other better than what you already know. 'Pre-season is all about a lot of running and preparing for the season ahead.' Villa's first objective every season is to qualify for European football, but next season they will have two shots at achieving their aspirational goal of securing Champions League qualification. A disappointing 2-0 defeat at Manchester United on the final day of last season denied Villa a return to UEFA's elite club competition. At 28 years of age, and with over 600 club and national team appearances to his name, Tielemans is now one of the most experienced heads in Emery's squad. He will be important both on and off the pitch next term as Villa look to return to the Champions League and end their 29-year wait for a trophy. "I know I have a lot of experience, I started very young and I have travelled in two different countries now. For me, it is a natural process,' Tielemans explained. 'I know I'm one of the most experienced players now, but I just try to enjoy my football and show on the pitch how it needs to be and how it works - hopefully the rest follows.' However, the former Leicester star claims it's getting harder every year to get into the Champions League. 'As an individual I just want to stay consistent and play as well as possible and stay healthy. Then, on the other side, with the team, we just really want to push on and try to get that Champions League spot which we just missed out on last year," he added. 'We know every season gets more difficult so we just have to take it from the game. Prepare well now and then in the first game go full on and we will see where we go.'
