Sitaare Zameen Par box office: Aamir Khan-Genelia D'Souza starrer set to beat Jaat & Kesari 2
The Monday figures reflect a drop of less than 20% from its Friday earnings, a strong indicator of positive word-of-mouth and audience retention read more Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, the latest release capturing audience attention, has achieved an impressive feat at the box office by earning ₹8.5 crore on its first Monday. What makes this number significant is not just the amount, but the expectations it has surpassed. Prior to release, many trade experts and cine-goers had predicted ₹8.5 crore to be the film's likely opening day collection. However, the film surprised everyone by performing better than expected over the weekend, and now, even on a crucial Monday, a day that often sees steep drops in earnings, it has held its ground remarkably well. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The Monday figures reflect a drop of less than 20% from its Friday earnings, a strong indicator of positive word-of-mouth and audience retention. In an industry where Monday collections often halve or even plummet further, Sitaare Zameen Par's box office trajectory signals a major win for the makers. The film's compelling storytelling and strong performances especially from the 10 debutants are likely contributing factors to its sustained success. Aamir Khan Productions proudly presents 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously helmed the barrier-breaking blockbuster Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, now returns with the biggest collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions' Sitaare Zameen Par. Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles along with the 10 rising stars. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka as producers. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film released in theatres on 20th June, 2025.

'Sitaare Zameen Par' box office collection day 5 (LIVE): The Aamir Khan starrer inches towards Rs 70 crore after seeing a drop on Monday
Aamir Khan 's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' which released on Friday, June 20 picked up extremely well over the weekend with positive word of mouth. But as expected it saw a major drop on Monday. But now how it sustains all through the week will play a huge role in determining the film's fate. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' though, has surpassed expectations and despite being a niche film and not like a 'Ghajini' or 'Dangal', the film has managed to create a dent at the box office. Sitaare Zameen Par Movie Review On Friday, the film collected Rs 10.7 crore. Meanwhile, on Saturday, it saw a growth of around 88.79 percent and made Rs 20.2 crore. On Sunday, it saw a further jump of 34.90 percent according to Sacnilk and made Rs 27.25 crore. From that, the film saw a major drop on Monday and made Rs 8.5 crore. Now even Tuesday, has begun on a similar note as Monday and one expects the movie to sustain the same as that number. Up till Tuesday afternoon, it had made Rs 1.41 crore. The total collection of the movie now stands at Rs 68.06 crore. It's expected to cross Rs 75 crore by the end of the day. The film is doing better in multiplexes than single screens. According to Box Office India, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has also done well in territories like Rajasthan and Gujarat where usually Aamir films don't do well. So, it's an encouraging sign. But one hopes that it continues to hold well all through the week and also on the second weekend. On May 27, Kajol starrer 'Maa' releases, which is a mythological horror film. It may give competition to 'Sitaare Zameen Par' if it garners good reviews. Day wise collection of the film Day 1 [1st Friday] ₹ 10.7 Cr Day 2 [1st Saturday] ₹ 20.2 Cr Day 3 [1st Sunday] ₹ 27.25 Cr Day 4 [1st Monday] ₹ 8.5 Cr Day 5 [1st Tuesday] ₹ 1.41 Cr ** - Total ₹ 68.06 Cr
