CPA intensifies inspections ahead of Khareef
Salalah: As part of its preparations for the upcoming Khareef Dhofar 2025 season, the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in Dhofar Governorate has ramped up its field inspection efforts to ensure that suppliers and vendors comply with the relevant laws and regulations. Dr. Taie bin Salem Al Janibi, Acting Director General of the Directorate, confirmed that a total of 19,582 inspection visits were conducted across the governorate's markets during the first half of this year. In addition, 14,317 monitoring visits were carried out to cover various commercial establishments as part of a comprehensive regulatory plan designed to create a fair and secure commercial environment. In addressing consumer complaints, Dr. Al Janibi noted that the directorate received 555 complaints during the same period, with an impressive resolution rate of 97%. Furthermore, 214 reports were handled with a high efficiency rate of 99%, reflecting the swift response and effectiveness of the communication channels between the Authority and the public. He added that the campaign also seeks to enhance coordination and integration with various public and private entities. By fostering collaboration and unifying regulatory and awareness efforts, the initiative aims to ensure the success of the tourist season and offer a safe and seamless experience for both visitors and residents in Dhofar Governorate.
