
Lava launches Shark 5G smartphone at ₹7,999
NEW DELHI: Homegrown handset maker Lava on Friday launched its
affordable 5G smartphone
, the Lava Shark, priced at ₹7,999.
'The Shark 5G combines next-gen 5G connectivity, an immersive display, and reliable everyday performance,' Lava said.
Available in two colours, Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue, the smartphone can be purchased at Lava retail outlets and Lava e-store from today. It comes in a single variant only, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The Lava Shark features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and houses a 5MP selfie camera, while the rear gets a 13MP AI camera.
The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T765 octa-core chipset, and houses a large 5000mAh battery which supports 10W wired charging via USB Type-C. Additional user-centric features include face unlock, bloatware-free software, a clean Android 15 experience, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Lava continues to bring new budget Android phones to the market and the new ones are called the Bold N1 and N1 Pro. These are not 5G-powered and mostly cater to people who would like to upgrade from feature phones and get basic features like using the internet, 4G VoLTE calls and more. You get these with Android 14 and 14 Go versions, powered by a Unisoc chipset and offered with a 5,000mAh battery on both the models. Lava Bold N1 price in India starts at Rs 5,999 while the Bold N1 Pro will be available for Rs 6,799 in the country. Lava Bold N1 and N1 Pro sale starts from June 4 and June 2, respectively. Lava Bold N1 And N1 Pro Specifications The Bold N1 sports a 6.75-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, while the N1 Pro features a 6.67-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. The N1 is powered by Unisoc processor, and the N1 Pro gets the Unisoc T606 chipset with 4GB RAM and another 4GB available via the virtual memory feature. The N1 gets a 13MP dual rear camera system, whereas the N1 Pro comes with a 50MP triple camera setup. The other sensors are not detailed but you have an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls.
