BRESCIA, Italy, April 04, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The wait is over: the list of cars that will participate in the 1000 Miglia 2025 has been drawn up by the Selection Committee that, year after year, has the task of choosing the cars that will take part in the "most unique travelling museum in the world", as Enzo Ferrari defined it.
The over 400 crews selected will be from 29 countries: Italy is the most represented country, closely followed by Netherlands, Great Britain and the United States. As for the cars, 127 pre-war models will take part in the 43rd re-enactment of the Red Arrow. 78, on the other hand, are those that raced in the historic speed competition between 1927 and 1957.
In the exclusive parterre of cars, together with the prestigious collections of Ferrari (17), Bugatti (10) and Bentley (8), there are an impressive 18 pre-war Alfa Romeos. Not to be missed is a unique specimen such as the Biondetti Ferrari-Jaguar Special. On the subject of models, an Aston Martin DB 3 and two fascinating Porsche 550 Spyder RS deserve a special mention.
Awaiting the drivers of the next edition of the Most Beautiful Race in the World, scheduled from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 June, is a route of about 1900 kilometres divided into 5 days of competition, along an 'figure-or-eight' route inspired by the first 12 editions of the 1000 Miglia speed race. The cities on the route are San Lazzaro di Savena, Rome, Cervia-Milano Marittima and Parma.
Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, in pursuit of their fifth consecutive victory at the wheel of the splendid Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato from 1929, will have to watch their backs against expert crews such as Fontanella-Covelli, Aliverti-Polini, Turelli, Tonconogy-Ruffini and Erejomovich-Llnanos, just to name a few. Among the famous faces this year will be Joe Bastianich and Carlo Cracco, who for the occasion will be competing far from the kitchen: one at the wheel of a 1954 Porsche 356 1000 Speedster, the other as navigator in a 1927 Bugatti T40.
As per the regulations, each car participating in the race must have been previously certified by the Registro 1000 Miglia in order to guarantee its authenticity, as well as a standard of excellence worthy of the Most Beautiful Race in the World.

Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. Enhances License to Groundbreaking Ion Pair Technology Developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory by Acquiring Exclusivity in Marine, Aviation, and Portable Power Fields

LIVERMORE, Calif., Aug. 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADN), an innovation-driven company in the fuel cell and hydrogen technology space, announced today that it has entered into a new enhanced license agreement with TRIAD National Security for the Ion Pair technology originally developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In the new enhanced license, Advent acquired exclusivity to the technology in the marine, aviation, and portable power fields while retaining its non-exclusive rights in all other fields. Dr. Emory DeCastro, Advent's Chief Technology Officer, stated: 'We are very excited to leverage the Los Alamos technology into areas that will make a real difference in Defense, Homeland Security, marine, and aviation systems. We look forward to working with our partners in implementing this technology. These developments have the potential to bring the advantages of fuel cells to traditionally hard-to-penetrate areas of aviation, marine, and portable power through Ion Pair's higher power density and simplified packaging system.' The license covers the following exclusive fields of use: Marine: Vessel propulsion, marine vessel auxiliary power, and dockside vessel support to provide electrical or thermal, direct or indirect (e.g., charging battery bank) power for propulsion or support of auxiliary operations such as lighting, navigation, communication, climate control, refrigeration, galley operations, hotel loads or standby power for crew and passenger accommodations. Aviation: Fuel cell power systems for aircraft propulsion, auxiliary power units (APU), and ground power units (GPU). Auxiliary servicing functions includes cabin lighting, avionics testing, galley operations, and air conditioning. Fuel cell power systems as GPUs on the airport premise grounds would support aircraft maintenance, pre-flight preparation, and auxiliary servicing functions such as cabin lighting, avionics testing, air conditioning, engine start-up, and battery charging. Human Portable Power: Fuel cell power units having a fuel-free system weight of 160 lbs. (72 Kg.) or less, providing electric power for defense, emergency, or expeditionary operations, remote sensing and field instrumentation, charging of personal electronic devices or mission-critical equipment, or off-grid backup power in austere environments and designed to be carried, worn, or transported by an individual without the aid of a vehicle. Gary Herman, Advent's Chief Executive Officer, commented: 'This expansion of the original non-exclusive, unlimited field of use TRIAD license solidifies our position as the leader in High Temperature PEM technology. We at Advent are committed to bringing the Ion Pair technology to the market. Drawing on our decades of experience, and our close collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratory, we continue to commercialize Ion Pair membrane electrode assembly (MEA) technology while working closely with our customers. We believe that Ion Pair is the long-awaited critical breakthrough for HTPEM fuel cell technology in the marine, aviation and portable power sectors.' About Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. Browns All-Pro DE Myles Garrett ticketed after police say he drove 100 mph in Cleveland suburb

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett has been accused of driving a Ferrari 100 mph on a suburban Cleveland interstate. The Strongsville Police Department stopped Garrett just after 2 a.m. Saturday in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 71 near the Ohio Turnpike, according to a citation. Garrett is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday but he could pay a $250 fine without appearing. Garrett is expected to be with the Browns in Philadelphia for a joint workout with the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. Garrett was stopped less than an hour after the Browns landed at Hopkins International Airport after their 30-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It is the second time in less than two months a Browns player has been stopped by Strongsville Police for speeding. On June 17, Shedeur Sanders was stopped for going 101 mph near the same stretch of highway as Garrett. In 2022, Garrett flipped his Porsche when he veered off a rural road near his home following practice. He suffered a sprained shoulder, strained biceps, cuts and bruises in the wreck and was cited for failure to control his vehicle and unsafe speed.
