Delhi Police issues advisory:
In a tweet, the Delhi Police has issued an advisory about rain during Rakshabandhan. 'Due to the Raksha Bandhan festival weekend and recent rains causing waterlogging at GTK Depot, Jahangirpuri, and Adarsh Nagar, traffic on old GT Road is likely to be severely affected. To avoid congestion, commuters are advised to avoid taking old GT Road. Delhi Metro services are operational and can help minimize travel disruptions. Please plan your route accordingly.'
Flights delayed amid downpour:
Over 100 flights were delayed after the intense rainfall in Delhi and NCR. Delhi Airport and IndiGo issued advisories.

75L avail free bus travel facility
1 2 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's initiative to provide free bus travel for women during Rakshabandhan festival shattered previous records as an estimated 75 lakh passengers avail of the service by midnight on Sunday. According to UPSRTC officials, the initiative saw an overwhelming response, with up to 70% of the passengers benefiting from the free travel offer. UPSRTC managing director Masoom Ali Sarwar said that on normal days, the corporation's buses accommodated 14 to 15 lakh passengers daily. However, during the first two days of the festival, the numbers soared past 5 million, with women passengers making up a significant portion. "On Aug 8, the first day of the scheme, over 19.5 lakh people travelled, marking a 25% increase from regular days. The numbers peaked on Rakshabandhan day, registering a staggering 210% rise," an official said, the total stood at 75 lakh. Additional buses were deployed and all staff were on duty to ensure smooth operations. An incentive scheme was also introduced for drivers and conductors, offering Rs 1,200 for completing 1800 km and an additional Rs 0.55 per km for continuous six-day operations. Turkey hit by 6.1 magnitude earthquake, multiple aftershocks recorded
Ankara [Turkey], August 11 (ANI): A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Sindirgi district of Balikesir province in Turkey on Saturday at 19:53 local time, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said. The tremor was felt in neighbouring provinces, including Manisa, Izmir, Usak, and Bursa. According to the AFAD, a total of seven aftershocks with a magnitude above 3.0 have occurred since has activated the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) and dispatched personnel and vehicles from various provincial directorates to support search and rescue operations. Air India flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi diverted to Chennai
New Delhi [India], August 11 (ANI): An Air India flight operating from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi was diverted to Chennai on Sunday following a suspected technical issue and weather conditions along the route, the airline to Flightradar24, the Air India flight AI2455 was scheduled to depart Thiruvananthapuram at 7:15 pm but took off at 8:17 pm. The flight, originally expected to arrive in Delhi at 10:45 pm, instead landed safely in India spokesperson in a statement said, 'The flight crew of AI2455 operating from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on August 10 made a precautionary diversion to Chennai due to a suspected technical issue and given the weather conditions en route. The flight landed safely in Chennai, where the aircraft will undergo the necessary checks."'We regret the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers. Our colleagues on the ground in Chennai are extending support to the passengers to minimise it and are making alternative arrangements to fly the passengers to their respective destinations at the earliest," an Air India spokesperson airline emphasised that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority.
