YSRCP leader sent mails to Singapore govt. to stall investments in A.P., alleges Lokesh
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Lokesh accused the YSRCP sympathisers of deliberately attempting to block investments into the State. A person named Murali Krishna, allegedly linked to the previous YSRCP regime, had sent an email to the Singapore authorities cautioning them against investing in Andhra Pradesh, citing an imminent change of government. 'This kind of sabotage is deeply unfortunate,' Lokesh said, adding, 'This, we call criminalisation of politics. They don't want investments, don't want A.P. to develop.'
It was found that Mr. Murali Krishna is associated with Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy. The government has already initiated action. The government would not spare anyone who tried to tarnish the image and brand of Andhra Pradesh, he asserted.
'While States like Tamil Nadu show political maturity, where both DMK and AIADMK work jointly to attract investments, here in Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP leaders are actively working against the State's development by writing letters discouraging companies from investing,' Mr. Lokesh said.
He questioned the motives behind such actions, emphasising the long-term damage they cause. 'Who would want to bring capital to a region where political forces themselves attempt to undermine economic growth?' he asked. 'In the end, it's not the politicians but the people of Andhra Pradesh who lose out — on jobs, on infrastructure, on prosperity.'
Mr. Lokesh also used the occasion to contrast the current government's proactive investment drive with the performance of the previous administration. 'In just 14 months, the new government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has attracted more investments than the YSRCP government could in five years,' he said.
Highlighting the recent success of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's Singapore tour, the Minister noted that deals worth ₹45,000 crore have already been finalised. He reiterated that the current government is not engaging in symbolic MoUs but is focused on converting commitments into actual projects on the ground.

TDP faults YSRCP leader Jagan for not hoisting tricolour on Independence Day
VIJAYAWADA: The TDP faulted YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for not hoisting the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day. Taking to X on Friday, TDP senior leader and Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy sought to know why Jagan despite being the president of a political party, and served as the Chief Minister, failed to recognise the significance of Independence Day. 'Of course you (Jagan) may be disappointed with the results of Pulivendula ZPTC byelections. But how can you forget a national festival? This will be a black mark in your political career,' Somireddy said. Another senior leader Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar accused Jagan of insulting the national flag, and remained as a party president and former CM, without hoisting the tricolour on Independence Day. He said that Jagan humiliated freedom fighters by not unfurling the national flag. 'The defeat of the YSRCP in Pulivendula ZPTC byelection may be the reason for Jagan's frustration. However, abstaining from hoisting the national flag reflects his mental condition,' Dhulipalla observed. While rickshaw pullers, auto drivers and other marginal workers showcased their patriotism by unfurling the national flag in every nook and corner, marking Independence Day, it is highly objectionable on the part of Jagan, for not hoisting the national flag, the TDP leader remarked. Speaking to mediapersons at the TDP headquarters, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu felt that Jagan revealed his arrogance by not participating in the Independence Day celebrations.

CM Stalin extends birthday greetings to VCK leader Thirumavalavan, calls him 'beloved brother'
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday greeted Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and Lok Sabha MP Thol Thirumavalavan on his birthday, hailing him as a 'beloved brother' and praising his commitment to social justice and the upliftment of marginalised communities. In a message on social media, CM Stalin wrote, 'Birthday wishes to beloved brother Thirumavalavan, who has deep knowledge, clear thinking, and a desire to work for the welfare of the downtrodden. I wish you, who accompany me in the aspirational journey, a happy and healthy life.' The Chief Minister also shared a photograph of himself with the VCK leader to mark the occasion. Thirumavalavan, known for his outspoken advocacy of Dalit rights and social equity, has been at the forefront of Tamil Nadu's politics for decades. As the president of the VCK, he has championed the causes of marginalised sections and emerged as a strong voice in both the state and national political arenas. His party, which is a key ally of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), plays a vital role in reinforcing the coalition's social justice agenda. The warm greetings extended by CM Stalin highlight the strong bond between the DMK and VCK, two parties that have consistently stood together on issues of communal harmony, caste equity, and minority rights. Political analysts point out that the camaraderie between Stalin and Thirumavalavan goes beyond electoral alliances, reflecting a deeper alignment of values and political commitments. Stalin's gesture also comes at a politically significant time, as Tamil Nadu's political parties begin to gear up for the 2026 Assembly elections. Observers note that reaffirming ties with allies like the VCK will be crucial for the DMK in consolidating its position and countering the BJP's efforts to expand its base in the state. Thirumavalavan's leadership is widely acknowledged for combining intellectual clarity with grassroots activism, and his speeches in Parliament and public forums often emphasise the need to protect the rights of the downtrodden. By recognising him as a 'beloved brother' and wishing him well, Stalin underscored the DMK's respect for his role in strengthening the state's progressive political fabric. The exchange of birthday wishes thus served not only as a personal gesture of goodwill but also as a reaffirmation of the enduring alliance between the DMK and the VCK, rooted in shared ideals of justice, equality, and inclusive development.

TN Governor playing cheap politics, says CM Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday came down heavily on Governor R.N. Ravi, accusing him of indulging in 'cheap politics' and spreading fear and misinformation against the DMK government. Speaking at Dharmapuri, where he launched an instant crop loan scheme under the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), CM Stalin said the Governor had gone beyond the role of the Opposition in trying to malign the state government. 'There is a person sitting in the Governor's bungalow whose cheap politics surpasses that of the Opposition. He mocks the Dravidian Model, derides our language, and even cooks up a non-existent Thirukkural. His constant attacks will only strengthen our love for Tamil culture and language,' Stalin said. He dismissed Governor Ravi's claims that Tamil Nadu was unsafe for women, citing Union government statistics. 'According to the National Crime Records Bureau, BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh tops the list of crimes against women. If Tamil Nadu was unsafe, how did we attract Rs 10 lakh crore investments since we assumed office?' he asked. The Chief Minister also outlined his vision for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, declaring that the DMK government would return with renewed vigour under 'Dravidian Model 2.0'. 'The next government will once again be a Dravidian-model government. Dravidian Model 2.0 will take Tamil Nadu to new heights,' he asserted. Listing his government's flagship welfare measures, Stalin said that women themselves were the best ambassadors of the schemes. He recalled how the free bus travel scheme for women was ridiculed by critics who predicted reduced services and fare hikes. 'We did not see it as an expenditure but as an investment in women. Similarly, the Magalir Urimai Thittam has enabled women to save close to Rs 50,000 since its inception,' he said. On the development front, Stalin launched the instant crop loan scheme under PACS, under which online applications will be processed and loan amounts credited to farmers' accounts on the same day. The scheme was rolled out on a pilot basis at Balajangamanahalli PACS in Adhiyamankottai, Dharmapuri, and will be expanded statewide. The Chief Minister also distributed cheques to beneficiaries, inaugurated completed projects, and laid the foundation for new development works during the event.
