LG Egypt Launches a New Phase of Its 'Better Home' Initiative in Al Beheira to Improve Living Conditions
This phase of the initiative targets support for six of the most deserving families in villages across Al Beheira Governorate by providing them with 6 top-load washing machines and 6 smart televisions.
These appliances represent part of the company's contribution to creating a more comfortable and stable living environment for the beneficiary families, thereby improving their daily quality of life .
The initiative falls within Misr El Kheir's Home Environment Improvement Program, which focuses on social and engineering interventions to improve housing conditions in the most in-need villages across Egypt, through renovation, reconstruction, or providing basic necessities in accordance with approved procedural standards.
This in-kind donation aligns with LG's strategy of truly embodying its slogan 'Life's Good.' The company continuously works to provide material and moral support to vulnerable communities in collaboration with Misr El Kheir, enhancing the foundation's efficiency and contributing to sustainable community development.
Mohamed El Gedawy, Marketing and Public Relations Director at LG Egypt, stated:
'LG is not just about providing technological products — we strive to be part of the fabric of Egyptian society. Through this new phase of the 'Better Home' initiative, we reaffirm our commitment to realizing our motto 'Life's Good' by supporting families in underprivileged areas' .

'The services offered by Misr El Kheir to eligible families throughout the year through the Humanitarian Aid Department reflect our vital social role across all Egyptian governorates.
We're pleased with this collaboration with LG, which is not the first of its kind, as LG has long partnered with us across multiple sectors within the Foundation — a partnership we hope continues.'
He also emphasized that this collaboration aligns with Misr El Kheir's broader strategy and mission to nurture and empower individuals in a way that uplifts their humanity .
LG Egypt confirmed that this initiative in Al Beheira is only one stop in a series of upcoming phases aimed at expanding the impact of the 'Better Home' program across several governorates — reinforcing the company's role in supporting sustainable development in Egypt.

Egyptians abroad can easily invest in stocks, funds via apps, says FRA chief
Egyptians living abroad can easily invest in the Egyptian Exchange and in investment funds through technological applications, the head of the country's Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has said. Speaking at the 6th Conference for Egyptians Abroad, FRA Chairperson Mohamed Farid said that developing flexible and integrated insurance solutions to provide effective coverage for Egyptians abroad is a top priority for the authority. He added that fintech has provided broader opportunities for the diaspora to benefit from non-banking financial tools in an easy and safe way, strengthening their connection to their homeland and opening up avenues for them to participate in development plans. The conference, which was opened by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, was organised by the ministries of foreign affairs and emigration. Farid noted that the non-banking financial sector, with its insurance, financing, and investment services, is a cornerstone of economic growth. He said technology allows Egyptians abroad to partner with major national companies in promising sectors and benefit from diverse investment funds. The FRA chief highlighted the development of a personal accident insurance policy for Egyptians abroad and their families, which he said reflects the state's commitment to protecting its citizens. He noted that after the insurance payout was increased to 250,000 Egyptian pounds, the number of insured individuals saw a noticeable increase of 20% in July 2025 alone. The number of insured Egyptians abroad has reached 1.3 million as of the end of July 2025, with 120 compensation cases totalling 10 million pounds paid out, Farid said. He also pointed to the launch in 2023 of the first pension policy for Egyptian citizens abroad, which aims to provide an additional pension and can be purchased electronically. Farid outlined the FRA's efforts to digitise non-banking financial transactions, beginning with a 2014 decision to regulate the electronic distribution of standard insurance policies and continuing with recent executive decisions to implement Law No. 5 of 2022, which established the regulatory framework for using technology in non-banking financial activities. The FRA is committed to developing and providing services that meet the needs of Egyptians working abroad and to continuing its efforts to improve insurance inclusion and expand the base of beneficiaries, he concluded.

Egypt, Uganda hold talks on water security, regional cooperation - Foreign Affairs
Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, and Minister of Water Resources, Hani Sewilam, held talks in Kampala on Monday with Uganda's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Oryem Okello, focusing on water security, regional developments, and strengthening bilateral ties. During the visit, Abdelatty handed over a grant of agricultural equipment and light transport vehicles to a Ugandan NGO supporting youth and small-scale farmers. According to foreign ministry spokesperson Tamim Khallaf, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to deepening its historical relationship with Uganda and boosting political and economic cooperation. He expressed support for Uganda's participation in a development project financing mechanism for southern Nile Basin countries, established by Egypt. Abdelatty also underscored Egypt's readiness to expand technical cooperation with Uganda across infrastructure, energy, investment, and development sectors. He called for increased access to Egyptian goods in Ugandan markets and affirmed Egyptian companies' willingness to contribute to Uganda's development, in line with President Yoweri Museveni's priorities—particularly in infrastructure, water, energy and pharmaceuticals. Abdelatty highlighted the role of Egyptian companies operating across the continent, noting Uganda's participation in training programmes run by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), which Ugandan officials described as valuable support for capacity building. The meeting also addressed water security in the Nile Basin. Abdelatty stressed the importance of cooperation based on international law and reiterated Egypt's rejection of unilateral actions in the Eastern Nile Basin that violate international law, saying Cairo would take 'all necessary measures' to protect its water security. Sewilam outlined existing bilateral cooperation on water projects and reiterated that respecting international law is fundamental to ensuring shared benefits for all Nile Basin countries. The two sides also discussed regional developments, particularly the situation in Somalia and the ongoing deployment of the African Union Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), in which both Egypt and Uganda participate. Abdelatty stressed the need to preserve the unity and stability of Somalia and Sudan, support national institutions, and promote peace and development across the continent. The Kampala visit followed Abdelatty's recent tour of five West African countries—Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali and Senegal—aimed at strengthening ties and enhancing coordination on counterterrorism in the Sahel region.
