After more than 20 years and six spin-off series, the "NCIS" television universe will further expand with the premiere of "NCIS: Tony and Ziva," which will see Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprise their roles as former NCIS special agents Anthony 'Tony' DiNozzo and Ziva David.
In a franchise first, the 10-episode series will forgo the usual "NCIS" home of CBS for Paramount Plus, marking the first title in the "NCIS" universe to be developed exclusively for a streaming platform.
The new crime procedural will pick up in Paris, France, where Ziva and Tony have been raising their daughter Tali, after Ziva's presumed death and subsequent return for one last mission. However, when Tony's security company is attacked, the duo must go on the run across Europe and try to figure out who is after them — all while learning to trust each other again. You may like
(Fun fact: it will mark the characters' first time appearing onscreen together in 12 years, since the "NCIS" season 11 episode "Past, Present and Future.")
'I expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our life very complicated but somehow a little something about love,' De Pablo revealed in a May 2024 Instagram video.
And fans can get a taste of all that intrigue and romance for themselves with the spinoff's first official trailer, which the streaming service dropped on Monday, May 5. You can take a look at the action-packed teaser below: NCIS: Tony & Ziva | First Look Trailer | Paramount+ - YouTube Watch On

'I'm incredibly grateful to CBS Studios and Paramount Plus for the chance to plunge these two beloved characters into a dangerous, fun, romantic, exciting chase across Europe,' said showrunner John McNamara, per Deadline.
'I'm excited to tell a single, serialized story of intrigue and espionage over 10 episodes, getting the chance to delve more deeply into Tony and Ziva's complex relationship, their on-again/off-again romance and the way they manage to co-parent their daughter Tali, heightened by the sudden jeopardy they all find themselves in."
Added Weatherly: 'It was surprising how Cote and I just fell into this new place with our characters. Informed by the past, illuminated by the present and trying to see a future together. These characters are on the adventure of a lifetime. And hopefully, so is the viewer.'

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Real About Disliking Being On Social Media As A Famous Person: 'I'm Like An Old Lady'

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If nothing else, you can, seemingly always, say that actress Gwyneth Paltrow is honest. The proud vagina candle maven has been known to open up about everything from hiding in her parents house after winning her Oscar at 26, to living with ex Chris Martin after they split and how hard it is to be an empty-nester. Now the Marvel star is opening up about being 'an old lady' when it comes to social media. While it's not impossible to be famous today and stay off social media (or at least not put your whole life online), it's not something that's done on a regular basis. In fact, most people, whether they're celebrities or not, use social media regularly, but the pressure to show every aspect of one's life must certainly be greater the more well known a person is. During an episode of The Goop Podcast where Gwyneth Paltrow spoke with actress Kerry Washington, the welcoming lifestyle company founder spoke about her feelings on social media, and admitted that some of her reticence likely has to do with age. As she said: There's a part of it I think that just is like a pre-Internet kid. I always wrestle a little bit with, 'Why are we having to put everything on social media? We just met with our video team. I'm always like, 'Chase, I don't want to be on Instagram!' You know? OMG. Gwynnie! I don't want to be on Instagram, either! But I am, because it's just what people do now. Of course, no one is expecting me to share literally everything I do during the day, so I'm totally free to sit back, follow a bunch of other folks and enjoy the view. When fans see Paltrow on social media, well, they want her to share things. Several stars have spoken about the immense pressure that can come from being online and opening your life up to fans. It has, in fact, caused a number of them to at least take breaks from it. Recently, A Complete Unknown star and Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro admitted that she's deleted her social media several times, and had to do it while filming that movie and again as positive reactions came in. Other famous folk have talked about doing the same social media 'detox' for a while, with Only Murders in the Building lead Selena Gomez calling the process 'the most rewarding gift.' This is likely because, as Home Town host Erin Napier once noted, regardless of what you post, the comments can be 'really rude.' While that can certainly harm one's mental health, however, the potential positives tend to outweigh some of the negatives for Paltrow, and that's exactly why she continues to use it. As she added: And yet, especially around the topic of mental health, or anything really that's heavily stigmatized, social media is this way to destigmatize. ... [like] wait, this is how you change culture and the tools right now are social media. So even though I'm like an old lady trying to get with the times of how this works... [I try to] get comfortable with it. And, lucky for us, she has gotten 'comfortable' with it and continues to share with fans on a regular basis.

TV Ratings: ‘Squid Game' Rules, But Broadcast Series Make Strong Showing in Multiplatform Rankings

With streaming now the platform of choice for the largest share of TV viewers in the U.S., it would seem logical that a streaming show would top the ratings rather than a traditional network show. As it turns out, that's correct: Netflix's Squid Game is, by a sizable margin, the most-watched series of the 2024-25 season. But in Nielsen's multiplatform ratings, which measure viewing over five weeks and across all outlets, a number of broadcast series are still commanding large audiences. All of them average at least 11.5 million viewers per episode across their network showings and streaming over five weeks. CBS' Tracker is the top network show and fourth overall with 17.6 million viewers via CBS and Paramount+. Squid Game, whose second season premiered in late December, racked up 27.1 million viewers in the 35-day window. Netflix's Adolescence (19 million) and Prime Video's Reacher (18.1 million) rank second and third, and two other network series, first-year breakouts Matlock (CBS) and High Potential (ABC), are tied for fifth overall at 16.1 million viewers. This season is the first in which Nielsen has released multiplatform data showing how outlets compare. In the broadcast landscape alone, CBS leads the pack (as it does in linear ratings) with 9.1 million viewers in primetime. NBC is second at 7.2 million viewers, followed by ABC (6.9 million) and Fox (4.3 million). ABC has the biggest gain from Nielsen's linear ratings (which are measured over seven days), rising by 61 percent with streaming and the longer window. CBS improves by 59 percent with the longer multiplatform measure, while NBC grows by 41 percent and Fox, whose shows stream on Hulu but which doesn't have its own platform, adds 12 percent. The top 20 shows (including ties) for all platforms and just on broadcast in Nielsen's 35-day multiplatform ratings are below. Sports and specials are excluded.
