Close call for Pakistani flight as scary turbulence moment captured on video. WATCH
The Gulf News reported that the flight was operated by the private carrier Fly Jinnah. During its descent into Lahore, the plane encountered strong crosswinds and low visibility caused by the sandstorm, making landing conditions extremely dangerous.
With safety at risk, Air Traffic Control reportedly instructed the pilot to abort the landing, and the pilot made the decision to fly back to Karachi. The viral clip shows the aircraft shaking violently and passengers screaming in fear.
Sharing the video, an Instagram handle @fl360aero wrote, 'Flight 9P842 / FJL842 encountered intense turbulence mid-air as it was caught in a severe storm while attempting to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport, was forced for a go-around. Cockpit, following instructions from air traffic control, flew the aircraft back to Karachi on 24 May.'

The incident has sparked an array of reactions on social media, with a user commenting, 'Understanding India's values, we would have granted their request to fly over our air space on humanitarian grounds. This is the greatness of my India.'
'Now you understand what the indigo passengers went through a few days ago when your 'government' refused flight path to the aircraft,' another user wrote.
An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Srinagar recently experienced severe turbulence and a hailstorm before landing safely in the Jammu and Kashmir capital. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) stated that the pilots had contacted Lahore Air Traffic Control seeking temporary access to Pakistani airspace, however, the request was turned down.
Both India and Pakistan have closed their respective airspace to each other's aircraft following the Pahalgam terror attack.

IndiGo ready to resume India-China flights if governments agree; Air India says no immediate plans
NEW DELHI: Indigo is ready to resume flights between India and China if both the governments permit it through bilateral pacts, said its CEO Pieter Elbers. Meanwhile, Air India said it had no immediate plans to fly to the neighbouring country. Indigo released a statement attributed to Elbers which said, 'IndiGo operated daily flights between India and China prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. The airline stands ready to resume these services as soon as the bilateral arrangements between the two countries allow. Guided by its entrepreneurial spirit, IndiGo remains committed to identifying and pursuing commercially viable opportunities.' On the sidelines of an event organised in the City on Wednesday, Elbers had told mediapersons that if the bilateral arrangements between the two countries would enable operation of the flights, then Indigo would go ahead with it. 'Indigo was operating there prior to COVID and is known for its entrepreneurial spirit. If the governments were to come to an arrangement, then air travel would resume. Clearly Indigo would be ready for it.' Indigo would begin flying to Athens from India early next year, he added. It would also fly to Copenhagen and London Heathrow in the winter, he added. Contradicting reports that the Aviation Ministry had asked Air India to be ready along with IndiGo to operate flights next month to China, an Air India source told, 'The Government has not conveyed anything to us in connection with flight operations to China. As of now, we are not having any immediate plans to fly to China in the near future.'

The Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH) concluded its two-day FAITH Conclave 2025 in New Delhi which saw external affairs minister Dr. S. Jaishankar talking about positioning tourism as a 'strategic pillar' of India's diplomacy, alongside trade and technology, while tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stressed on raising tourism's GDP share from 6% to 10% through skilled manpower, sustainability, and cultural preservation. Puneet Chhatwal, FAITH chairperson, underlined tourism's role as India's soft power and the world's leading job creator. On day two, Peter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo and Chair-elect of IATA, highlighted aviation's role in tourism growth. He outlined three enablers—visa reforms, ease of travel, and targeted global promotion—and announced IndiGo's expansion to over 50 international destinations with wide-body Airbus A350s. Representing IATO, FHRAI, HAI, ADTOI, ATOAI, ICPB, IHHA, ITTA, TAAI, TAFI, and AIRDA, FAITH said it reaffirmed its dedication to a whole-of-nation approach for tourism growth, integrating central and state policies, private partnerships, and community participation. The industry body said a joint recommendations document will be submitted to the prime minister and the Ministry of Tourism following the event. 'This is India's century,' said Rajiv Mehra, general secretary, FAITH. 'Achieving our tourism potential requires shared vision, coordinated action, and industry accountability.'
