Thiago: I've never felt better
Off the back of scoring Brentford's goal in a 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against club strategic partner and Primeira Liga side Gil Vicente, he is confident that he'll continue to find the back of the net for Keith Andrews' side this campaign.
'I'm feeling very good, very strong, very different to how I felt last year," said the 24-year-old. "I've never felt better.
'I've probably had to do a little bit more work than the other players over the summer but I've also wanted to relax my head and not focus just on football.
'My goals are very specific and personal to me, but the main thing is that I want to be in the best possible form, the best possible shape to do what Brentford hired me to do – and that's score goals.

The west Londoners returned to Portugal for another pre-season tour this month, with Andrews and the new-look coaching staff putting the players though their paces at Cidade do Futebol, the Portuguese national team's training base.
'It's a different mentality and a different way to work," Thiago explained.
"It's good because we can learn different ways of thinking and different ways of playing.
'The main difference has been the work with the ball. Instead of just focusing on the running, we've been working with the ball and on the more technical side of things."
Alongside a rigorous camp and the aforementioned Gil Vicente friendly, the 10-day tour has also provided an important bonding opportunity for the players.
'It's been very nice because the team is united," Thiago continued.
"We have the professional side of it but also the friendships are very good. I've been at other clubs and the energy was not like it is here, not as united.
'It's very important because the connection we have in these moments helps us when we're playing out on the pitch. It helps to build our relationships.'

Chelsea striker Marc Guiu joins promoted Sunderland on loan
SUNDERLAND, England (AP) — Newly promoted Sunderland signed 19-year-old striker Marc Guiu on a season-long loan from Chelsea on Wednesday ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Guiu made 16 appearances for Enzo Maresca's team last season and scored six goals — all in the UEFA Conference League campaign. Chelsea won the third-tier competition. Guiu became the second-youngest player (18 years, 350 days old) to score a hat trick for Chelsea. That feat came in a 5-1 victory over Shamrock Rovers. The Spaniard also played twice in Chelsea's run to the Club World Cup title. 'I see myself as a powerful striker, who can make a difference on and off the ball, and I pride myself on being a natural goalscorer,' he said in Sunderland's announcement. Guiu rose through Barcelona's youth academy and made seven appearances for the Catalan club before joining Chelsea in 2024. ___

Verizon Promo Offers NFL Sunday Ticket Access at No Extra Cost
It's still the NFL preseason, but ahead of the official 2025-2026 regular season kickoff in September, Verizon, a long-term partner of the league, is offering NFL Sunday Ticket to new and existing mobile and internet customers. You don't even need a paid subscription for YouTube TV or YouTube Primetime Channels. Verizon revived its Sunday Ticket on Us promo on Tuesday, and it will run through Sept. 23, along with an alternative option to get $200 off the sports package for a savings of up to $480. The deal grants football fans access to watch out-of-market Sunday games that aren't broadcast on their local networks. As an added perk, the company is giving out a limited number of free tickets to NFL games. Beginning Thursday at 8 a.m. ET, Verizon users can check the My Verizon app for spontaneous ticket giveaways throughout the season. You'll need a Google account to stream live games on the sports package. This promo expires on Sept. 23, and you must redeem it within 60 days of your purchase or service activation. How to get NFL Sunday Ticket for free from Verizon The wireless company offers multiple ways to get in on the game action, whether you're new or a current customer. How do you know if you're eligible for free access? If you buy a 5G phone from Verizon and sign up for a new line on its myPlan service, you can get the deal. Wireless customers can bring their own phone and add a new line with myPlan to be eligible. Activate one of these internet plans: Fios 1 Gig, Fios 2 Gig, LTE Home Plus or 5G Home Ultimate. Get $200 off the price of Sunday Ticket Existing Verizon phone or home internet customers can still get a discount without switching subscription plans or buying new devices, and returning Sunday Ticket subscribers may also be eligible. Though the offer doesn't apply if you're a Verizon prepaid, business or data-only phone customer, you can sign up for the sports package by Sept. 23 to lock in $200 off the full price.

Mike Vrabel dives in to break up Patriots-Commanders fight
With joint-practice season comes fights-during-joint-practice season. And a fight happening in Foxboro, between the Patriots and Commanders. Via Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston, New England coach Mike Vrabel dove to the ground to separate a Patriots offensive player and a Commanders defensive player. Vrabel ended up at the bottom of the pile. He emerged with a bloody cheek. "We want to practice the same way we've practiced against our team and that's by playing physical and aggressive and not doing stuff that hurts the team and certainly don't expect any of that and if it does, we'll have to handle it accordingly," Vrabel told reporters before practice started. "You have to be able to play competitively and physically without letting your emotions get the best of you." He undoubtedly will have something funny to say about the in-practice experience. And he'll undoubtedly have some pointed things to say to his players about the consequences of fighting.
