Who Is Rumored To Be Cast In The 'Zelda' Movie?
Casting for the live-action Legend of Zelda movie has been kept under wraps, and as of reporting, nothing has been officially confirmed.
However, one name that has been thrown into the mix is Euphoria star Hunter Schafer. Fans have long shared that they think Schafer should be cast as Princess Zelda, with many arguing that the actress bears a striking resemblance to the cartoon princess.
Schafer has commented on it, saying in 2023 that it would be "so cool" to play the role, according to Variety.
The rumor mill about Schafer playing Zelda amped up after industry insider Daniel Richtman said in a blog post that she was being seriously considered for the role.
Social media has reacted strongly to Schafer potentially being cast in the film because Schafer is trans. Some social media users expressed criticism of her potentially being cast in the role as a result, but many have spoken out in defense of Schafer, strongly supporting her casting.
In a post viewed more than 2 million times on X, formerly Twitter, @SILENTPRINCESS wrote: "imagine being so bigoted you can't see this as the most perfect casting for princess zelda just because you're a tr*nsphobe."
Schafer spoke out on social media earlier this year about the "harsh reality" of President Donald Trump's executive orders that have rolled back protections for trans people.
"Trans people are beautiful," she said at the time. "We are never going to stop existing, I am never going to stop being trans, a letter on a passport can't change that."
Patricia Summersett, who voiced Zelda in The Legenda of Zela: Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom, has also said that she would reprise her role in the live-action movie.
Speaking to Games Radar in 2023, she said: "I would love to play Zelda over and over again."
Another name that has been rumored for the titular role is A Minecraft Movie actress Emma Myers. Asked by Digital Spy if she would be interested in playing the role, she said: "I mean, whoever wants me in a video game movie."
Other names that have popped up include Tom Holland, with the Spider-Man star having been a subject of frequent fan castings for the character of Link.
Walker Scobell, who is known for his role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, has also been suggested by fans.
Another name floated by fans is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who fans have suggested could take on the role of Ganon.
What People Are Saying
Shigeru Miyamoto told Nintendo Investors in 2023 during a Q&A: "We face an extremely high hurdle in producing a film that will not disappoint the global fan base."
Hunter Schafer, speaking about playing Zelda, per Variety: "I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool."
What Happens Next
The live-action remake of the Legend of Zelda will be released in cinemas on March 26, 2027.

Cam Newton comments on ‘broken families' criticism
The post Cam Newton comments on 'broken families' criticism appeared first on ClutchPoints. Cam Newton is getting real on the 'broken families' criticism he's faced over the years due to having children with different women. Newton, who has eight children with three different women, revisited the conversation he had with Cheyenne Bryant, PsyD, about creating 'broken families.' The Super Bowl champion said that he is righting his wrongs which is hard to go through with so many eyes on him. 'It's still a work in progress,' he said in the recent episode of The Jamal Bryant Let's Be Clear podcast. 'Vulnerably. It took something out of me when or when people say I created broken homes, and I'm just trying to make my wrongs right. Being a public figure, and bleeding in public is tough.' 'When it was identified, I was like, 'I never thought about it like that, and they're so innocent, they didn't ask for this,' he continued. 'And I would always say, 'I know right from wrong, I just don't always do right.' Raised in a church, preacher's kids, they're the worst ones. I know that. So, public ridicule is a constant.' In a previous conversation with Bryant, she called out his fears of getting married and the effects of what a broken home can do to children. 'You are proactively choosing where you want to be active at, and where you want to take your time,' Bryant said at the time. 'You want to take your time in having a wife because of your own fears, but you will — and I say this will all respect and love — but you will selfishly create broken families.' 'Even if you're in their lives and you're a proactive father — and I believe you're an amazing dad — but these families are still broken,' she added. 'Every child cannot have papa in the house with them. So, some child, if not all, will end up with some kind of deficit without daddy being there.' In the recent episode, Newton expressed how present he is in his kids' life. 'Anybody who knows me, know I don't play about my kids,' he said. 'I really don't, and I love 'em. And there's certain implementations that you only can do if you're on tap.' That changed slightly when he was playing in the NFL and had to split his time. Newton previously played for the Carolina Panthers and had a short stint with the New England Patriots. 'Being able to not see my children as much as possible really took a toll on me,' he said. 'And you know, they say, 'Cam, you got all these kids, all these broken homes.' Man, I'm a hands-on father. It was fooling with me.' Newton will be growing his family has he and his girlfriend, Jasmin Brown, announced earlier this month that they are expecting another child together. They welcomed their daughter last year. Before Newton announced he was having another child with Brown, he spoke to PEOPLE about how he doesn't know if he will have more children. 'I don't know, wherever much that God gives me,' he said when asked how many more kids he would like to have. 'But jokingly, and not jokingly, [my kids] really give me my purpose and there's so many different things that I look at to say, they're my refuge. They're my peace. They're my encouragement.' 'There's times where, even I'm here and they're still at home. Those type of things affect me but it also gives me more reason to say I'm doing this because of that situation,' Newton added.

Lindsay Lohan Says 'Freaky Friday' Sequel Is a ‘Love Letter' to Iconic Movie House that Burned Down
The Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, hits theaters on Aug. 8 During an interview with Elle, Lohan said the film is "such an homage" to California and pays tribute to her character's home from the 2003 film The real home was destroyed in the deadly wildfires that swept through Los Angeles earlier this yearFreakier Friday is sentimental for Lindsay Lohan in more ways than one. Ahead of the highly-anticipated Freaky Friday sequel hitting theaters on Aug. 8, Lohan, 38, opened up to Chloe Fineman for a May 27 interview with Elle about filming the upcoming movie in Los Angeles. The actress — who stars in the remake of the 2003 classic alongside Jamie Lee Curtis — told Fineman that the sequel feels like a tribute to the areas impacted by the tragic wildfires that swept through L.A. in January. The property that was used as her character Anna Coleman's home in the original movie sadly burned down during the natural disaster. 'The film is such an homage to California after the fires, because we shot a lot in the Palisades and in Malibu,' Lohan said. 'Even the house — the original Freaky Friday house — unfortunately, is gone. So I think it'll be a really nice love letter.' The Palisades Fire was the first wildfire to erupt on Jan. 7, and it wasn't fully contained until Jan. 31 along with the Eaton Fire. The deadly blaze burned approximately 23,448 acres, according to CAL FIRE, and the cause is still under investigation. In response to Fineman asking if it felt 'special' to be back filming in L.A., Lohan responded: 'Yeah. For the crew, they're so excited to be working here, where they go back home to their families. That's the difference you feel here. It's nice.' Referring to her son Luai, whom she welcomed in 2023 with husband Bader Shammas, she added, 'I made it home every night, except for one, to tuck my son in. And it shows in the film — when you're happy behind the scenes, that comes through.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Fans will officially get to see Freakier Friday in theaters this August, 22 years after the first movie premiered. 2023's Freaky Friday is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name starring Jodie Foster. A number of familiar faces will be returning for the sequel, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. Some new faces will also be added to the franchise, including Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons. Read the original article on People

Sydney Sweeney breaks silence on split from fiancé after 3-year engagement
After months of speculation, Sydney Sweeney is finally setting the record straight. The 26-year-old actress confirmed she has called off her engagement to longtime partner Jonathan Davino, 41. When asked if she was still planning a wedding, she simply replied "No" during an interview with The Times UK. Sweeney said "yes" when asked if she's single. "I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it," she said. Representatives for Sweeney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The split marked the end of a relationship that began in 2018. Sweeney stopped wearing her engagement ring in February after the couple got engaged in 2022. Davino worked alongside Sweeney and co-produced the film "Anyone But You." Rumors swirled that Sweeney and her co-star Glen Powell were dating around the time they filmed their rom-com. In March, the "Euphoria" star seemingly deleted a once "favorite" memory from her social media with Davino. While rumors of their breakup continued to circulate online at the time, fans noticed a small detail missing from Sweeney's Instagram account. In a celebratory New Year's post shared Jan. 2, Sweeney included a photo of her and Davino kissing, with friends laughing and smiling in the background. However, the photo was no longer part of the carousel, which included a caption that said, "The last few days of 2024 will forever be some of my favorite." Last year, Sweeney opened up about her decision to be with a man 14 years older. "I'm a very successful, independent woman who's worked really hard," Sweeney told Glamour magazine in October. "I've accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family." "I would love to set the record straight," she added. "You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man. We're teammates. We're in it together. And we want to see each other succeed." The news of Sweeney's split comes after she announced she is selling her used bathwater to her fans. "You kept asking about my bathwater after the Dr. Squatch ad… so we kept it," she wrote in an Instagram post. "Introducing Sydney's Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater." In 2024, the "Euphoria" star teamed up with Dr. Squatch Natural Body Wash, and her advertisement caption on social media said, "For my dirty little boys out there."Sweeney was taking a bubble bath in the ad, and comments poured in about her bathwater. "How much for the water?" one fan wrote. Other comments sparked interest in even wanting to taste her bathwater. "The White Lotus" star told GQ she "definitely was not aware" of the erotic implications of bathtub water "until I started seeing it in my own comments." When asked if she was surprised about the particular request for her bathwater, she replied it was a "really fun, full-circle moment.""Fans always joke about wanting my bath water. … I was like, 'This is just such a cool way to have a conversation with the audience and give them what they want.' But then also hopefully encourage them to take care of themselves in a healthy way."
