Ponce ended a scoreless match when used assists from defenders Felipe Andrade and Franco Escobar to score his fifth goal this season and 10th in his two seasons in the league. Andrade's assist was his first in the rookie's ninth career appearance and Escobar's was his third this season.

Bond needed just one save to post his sixth clean sheet of the season for the Dynamo (6-9-5), who beat St. Louis City (3-11-6) for the first time in five regular-season matchups. The two clubs played to a scoreless draw in Houston last season and tied 1-1 there in 2023 — when St. Louis City won the Western Conference regular-season title as an expansion team.(backslash)
Roman Bürki finished with five saves for St. Louis City, which falls to 1-7-2 on the road.
Houston played without defender Griffin Dorsey, who was suspended for the match for an accumulation of yellow cards.

The USGA announced Sunday the remaining five selections to captain Nathan Smith's 10-man squad – newly minted U.S. Amateur champion Mason Howell, Oklahoma's Jase Summy, Texas' Tommy Morrison, Notre Dame's Jacob Modleski and mid-amateur Stewart Hagestad. World No. 1 Jackson Koivun of Auburn was among the earlier selections, along with Virginia's Ben James, Ole Miss' Michael La Sasso, and Oklahoma State teammates Preston Stout and Ethan Fang. This will be Hagestad's fifth Walker Cup as he was on winning teams in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Reports: Eagles obtain WR John Metchie III from Texans
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired receiver John Metchie III from the Houston Texans on Sunday, according to multiple reports. The Texans received tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick in the deal. Houston also sent a sixth-round pick next season to the Eagles. Metchie, 25, had 40 receptions for 412 yards and one touchdown in 29 games with Houston over the past two seasons. He was a second-round pick in the 2022 draft but missed that season due to a battle with leukemia. Metchie played college football at Alabama and was a teammate with Philadelphia wideout DeVonta Smith with the Crimson Tide. Smith won the Heisman Trophy in 2020 when he and Metchie were the top two target on the school's national championship team. Bryant, 27, has caught 98 passes for 877 yards and 10 touchdowns in 78 games (33 starts) over five seasons for the Cleveland Browns (2020-23) and Las Vegas Raiders.
