Ateez Joins BTS And Stray Kids With A Debut Hot 100 Smash

Ateez earns its first Hot 100 hit with 'Lemon Drop,' which debuts at No. 69, helping the band join ... More BTS and Stray Kids with a proper American smash. SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - JUNE 12: ATEEZ attends ATEEZ's the 12th mini album 'GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3' press conference at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-gu on June 12, 2025 in Seoul, South Korea. It was only a little more than half a year ago that Ateez scored its second No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and now, the South Korean boy band is back with Golden Hour: Part.3, a new EP that earns lofty debuts on a number of Billboard tallies. While it doesn't add to the group's list of champions on the main albums ranking, the set has produced Ateez's first major hit in America — a feat the musicians have long been waiting for.
Ateez Charts Its First Hot 100 Hit
The lead single from Golden Hour: Part 3, "Lemon Drop," was shared the same day the EP became available. Fans in the United States quickly turned the track into a proper win, earning the boy band its first appearance on the Hot 100 this frame. "Lemon Drop" opens at No. 69 on Billboard's ranking of the most consumed songs in America.
Ateez Joins BTS and Stray Kids
As the title arrives, Ateez becomes one of a very small group of South Korean names to place on the competitive list. The eight-member vocal group is now just the third K-pop boy band to reach the Hot 100, joining BTS and Stray Kids.
BTS leads with 27 placements on the Hot 100, which is the greatest number of wins among all K-pop stars in America. Stray Kids, meanwhile, have collected a trio of Hot 100 charters, and that number could easily climb again later this year.
Girl Groups and K-Pop Soloists Lead
Many other K-pop stars have appeared on the Hot 100, including girl groups from that space such as Blackpink, Fifty Fifty , Le Sserafim, NewJeans, Twice, and others. Soloists, including several BTS stars, have also scored multiple wins – so it's really boy bands that have been breaking through as of late and playing catch-up.
'Lemon Drop' Opens at No. 1
As it debuts on the Hot 100, "Lemon Drop" also appears on two other Billboard tallies. The track launches at No. 9 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart and leads the charge on the World Digital Song Sales tally. Two other tracks taken from Golden Hour: Part 3 — "Castle" and "Masterpiece" — also arrive on the latter list.

From free transit to a fan zone ferris wheel: a sneak peek at Toronto's Rogers Stadium ahead of 1st show

TORONTO - Live Nation Canada is offering a first look at a new open-air music venue set to host some of the world's biggest acts this summer. A tour of the expansive 50,000-capacity Rogers Stadium at Downsview Park in North York showed blue plastic chairs lining the edge of the venue's bowl, and a stripped-down stage ready to be retrofitted to an artist's needs. Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected for a string of 14 concerts running through September, starting Sunday with K-pop group Stray Kids. A ferris wheel anchors the fan zone, where concertgoers can buy food and drinks from vendors, or visit two private eateries that require reservations. Live Nation President of Music Erik Hoffman says a stadium of this size is 'a need' for the city and will inject $100 million into the local economy. Metrolinx and TTC will both offer free rides from Downsview Station, which is about 10 minutes from the stadium. While the two August shows by Brit rockers Oasis are sold out, tickets to Coldplay's four nights in July are available through re-sale and vary in price from several hundred dollars to more than $1,500. Hoffman says ticket prices are set by artists who charge 'what they have to' to put on a large-scale show. Although Thursday's tour was dampened by rain, Live Nation representatives say events will proceed on rain or shine, just like any festival experience. This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 26, 2025.

‘KPop Demon Hunters' Director Thought About A Live-Action Version

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS - When they aren't selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey use ... More their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise. ©2025 Netflix Since its release last week, Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters has reached No. 1 in 26 countries and the Top 10 in 93 countries. Critics and fans have praised the animated feature, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. The soundtrack has also generated buzz, hitting No. 1 on the iTunes Top Album and K-Pop Charts, as well as the Apple Music Pop and K-Pop Album Charts. The film centers on Huntrix, a K-pop girl group who are secretly demon hunters sworn to protect their fans from supernatural threats. One of the hunters, Rumi (Arden Cho), has demon blood running in her veins, as we find out that her Hunter mother had a relationship with her Demon father. The circumstances of their relationship are never disclosed. Celine, a former Hunter and Rumi's guardian, avoided talking about Rumi's parentage, disregarding her demon side. Rumi – and the audience – are never given answers about her past. Though Netflix hasn't announced if there will be a sequel, Kang says there's more to the story they wanted to tell – especially when it came to Rumi's heritage as part Hunter and part Demon, and the reason behind Celine's aversion towards demons. KPOP DEMON HUNTERS - Celine (voice by YUNJIN KIM). ©2025 Netflix 'There are different versions [of Rumi's story],' says Kang. Ultimately, we felt like that whole part of the story didn't need to be told here. It was a tricky thing with the story. There are so many questions that are left unanswered.' Some scenes were cut that answered these questions, but it didn't feel like they belonged, as they changed the overall story. There's so much they wanted to add – Rumi's parentage, Celine's background, and the mythology behind Derpy the tiger and Sussie the six-eyed bird. '[Derpy and Sussie] live between these two worlds,' Kang reveals. It's not a Demon. It's not a Hunter, obviously. So, what is it? There's a lot of mysteries and question marks that even I have thought about what that could be. We're definitely thinking about that stuff.' KPOP DEMON HUNTERS - (Right) Rumi (voice by ARDEN CHO). ©2025 Netflix The KPop Demon Hunters creatives, crew, and actors all expressed their interest in a sequel. Kang has many more ideas for her characters and the story. After finishing her film, she did think about a live-action version of the animated film. After watching the new live-action How To Train Your Dragon movie, she mentioned that director Dean DeBlois, who directed the original animated films, did a wonderful job. She thought what it would be like to have a live-action KPop Demon Hunters. She understands that comes with its own challenges. 'I really enjoyed [How To Train Your Dragon],' says Kang. I was sitting in the theater thinking, I wonder if anybody would want to see a live-action KPop Demon Hunters. What would that be like? How would that go?' Until then, Kang is enjoying the response to the film and the music. She's so proud to see a Korean story resonate with everyone. 'I had so many crew members [and people] tell me how much this movie meant to them – and they weren't even Korean,' says Kang. 'They loved learning about our culture and being part of something different. [People have told me], 'I'm watching more K-dramas,' and 'I'm going to Korea,' or 'I'm taking K-pop dance lessons.' It was just so amazing as a director to see people love this movie and fall in love with the culture. I really appreciated the studios for taking a risk on something that is a full Asian cast, too. I couldn't have believed we could make this. It's very surreal.' KPop Demon Hunters is streaming now on Netflix.

Lisa Joins BTS And Rosé With Her First Solo Top 10 Smash

Lisa scores her first top 10 hit on the Adult Pop Airplay chart with Maroon 5 collaboration ... More 'Priceless,' joining BTS, Fifty Fifty and Rose with her latest feat. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Lisa attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo byfor The Met Museum/Vogue) 2025 has been a huge year for Lisa in terms of finding success on American radio. The Blackpink superstar has been pushing tunes from her debut solo full-length Alter Ego for months, and multiple tracks from the project have landed on the Adult Pop Airplay chart – but it wasn't until she partnered with Maroon 5 that she reached new career heights. Their catchy collaboration, 'Priceless,' not only helped Lisa reach positions she's never seen before on the radio tally, but also pushed her into the uppermost region of the ranking – and she makes history as she rises again. Lisa Earns Her First Top 10 Hit 'Priceless' arrived on the Adult Pop Airplay chart seven weeks ago and has been steadily gaining in popularity ever since. This frame, the track lifts from No. 11 to No. 10. While that's only a gain of one spot, it's a significant one. Lisa earns her first top 10 smash on the Adult Pop Airplay tally, which ranks tracks being played on radio stations that focus on the more mature side of pop music that accrue the largest total number of audience impressions. She now joins a select group of K-pop favorites who have managed to enter that coveted space. Lisa Joins BTS, Fifty Fifty and Rosé Lisa is just the fourth K-pop artist to make it to the top 10 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. While she was born and raised in Thailand, when it comes to her music career, she's most closely associated with K-pop. Her solo work is usually classified simply as pop or hip-hop, but thanks to her work with Blackpink — which is set to reunite later this year for a tour and likely new music — she remains a key figure in the K-pop space. BTS is the only K-pop act to collect multiple top 10s on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. The group reached a new high alongside Coldplay with 'My Universe,' which peaked at No. 8, while its own 'Dynamite' stalled in tenth place. Fifty Fifty's 'Cupid' rose to No. 9 at one point, and 'Apt.' by Rosé and Bruno Mars stands out as the loftiest placement by any K-pop star. That collaboration missed the summit by just a single rung.
