A FORMER Bay City Roller star accused of stalking and harassing family members has walked free from court after a Crown bungle.
Pat McGlynn was alleged to have followed and spied on his brother John and sister-in-law Yvonne outside their home in Loanhead, Midlothian.

Pat McGlynn walked free
Pat, 67, was also claimed to have acted aggressively, gesticulate towards the couple and point a camera that was believed to be recording Yvonne McGlynn at her home.
The musician was said to have carried out the stalking campaign including blocking their driveway and leaving threatening voicemails between October 2020 and September 2021.
But the former Roller was allowed to walk free from Edinburgh sheriff court on Thursday after a sheriff deserted the case due to the Crown not providing the defence team with all the required disclosure.
Sheriff Peter McCormack was told this was the seventh time the Crown had brought the case to trial but had continually failed to supply the defence team with all the information they need.
Speaking outside court, Pat admitted the case had taken a toll on his health but added he is delighted he can now get on with music career.
He said: 'This case is all rubbish, my brother has caused me so much pain and suffering.
'My wife is ill because of it and I have had a heart attack due to this case - it's been a nightmare.
'I've been classed as a criminal due to these false allegations but now I'm cleared I can now get on with my life and go to Japan at Christmas.
'I've got a band together and I'm going to be touring and playing Bay City Roller classics like Shang-A-Lang and Bye Bye Baby as well as my own material.
'I've also got an album coming out called simply 'Pat McGlynn' and I'll be doing Roller classics on there too.
Tragic Liam Payne was churned out by the pop machine that breaks its stars… inside the dark secrets of boyband fame
'I see Woody has done his own version of Shang-A-Lang but I'm going to show him how it's done properly.'
Solicitor Nigel Bruce told the court there had been 'a long-standing failure to provide disclosure by the Crown' and asked the sheriff to desert the case.
Mr Bruce said: 'The fact is that this has had a really significant effect on my client.
'He is a musician and he has been invited to produce an album and to tour in Japan and that can't take place.
'This complaint is now approaching three years and the Crown have not complied with their legal obligations.'
Sheriff McCormack said: 'This is the seventh trial diet to events said to have taken place between October 2020 and September 2021.
'The Crown and the police have a statutory duty to disclose relevant material that they have accepted Mr Bruce has been asking for.
'Nothing has happened between the last trial diet in December and today and in these circumstances I am going uphold Mr Bruce's motion and desert the case simpliciter.'
Pat, a rhythm guitarist, joined the Bay City Rollers in 1976 replacing departing member Ian Mitchell before leaving the following year. He was also a member of the group between 1982 and 1985.
In 1977, Pat released She'd Rather Be with Me which peaked at number 65 in Australia.
He also had success with his own band Pat McGlynn's Scotties and wrote the song So Much Of Your Love sung by pop star Sonia in the British heat of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993.

Announcing the news online, chef Ritchie Staisnby teased a "final celebration" before he closes the doors to the much-loved vegan food spot. Co-owner of Nottingham-based No. Twelve, Ritchie Stainsby built up a strong relationship with his regular customers after starring on Masterchef: The Professionals last year. He runs the restaurant alongside wife Lauren and despite the popular spot being filled up most days, Ritchie has called time on the project. The final farewell will take place on 1 June and is open to all members of the public. In a post on Instagram the couple said: "This is more than just a party — it's a thank you, a farewell, and a celebration of everything has stood for. "Whether you've dined with us once or a hundred times, we'd love to see your face and raise one last glass together. No dress code — just bring your friends, your appetite, and your best stories. Let's make this a day to remember." News of the closure was announced earlier this year with the TV chef alluding to things being "up in the air" despite being as busy as ever. They said: "We got some sensitive news that's out of our hands. Heartbroken MasterChef star tells of 'lost dream' after shutting award-winning restaurant and warns 'it's bleak' "We have loved doing this and the reason it's coming to an end so abruptly is some personal circumstances for us and those around us that contribute to the restaurant closing. "No. Twelve hasn't failed, to be honest we are busier than we ever have been. "And because we're a couple we guarantee people will think we've split up. Just to clarify we are a happily married couple." He ended the passionate message by saying: "Everything is up in the air at the moment and, even though we don't know what's going to happen, I'm still going to be a chef." The 33-year-old is yet to say what led to the closure of No. Twelve but he did confirm the brand would live on in the form of regular pop-up events. Private dining bookings will also still be available for guests who want to get their tastebuds back with Ritchie's tasty offerings. No. Twelve can be found at Eldon Chambers in a busy part of Nottingham. It was first opened up in 2017 as a small 24-seater cafe in Hounds Gate being the business was transformed into a fine dining restaurant in a converted redbrick Victorian mill, off Wheeler Gate. Lauren, 29, previously said: "What we want to do over the next three months is celebrate. "One door closes, another door opens. We're going to see it as something positive. "It is sad but we don't want to be sad about it because there is no point. It's been a great journey for us. "I started this when I was 22, now I'm going to be celebrating my 30th here. It's amazing, we've done so well." Ritchie said despite the pair choosing to step away from the business sector for now, they could be convinced back one day. He said if the right investor came in and made an offer which was good enough then they would go into business again. The chef said: "Whilst a change of location seems impossible at the moment, it's not something we'd ever rule out. "The economy, as it is, is tragic for our industry. While there are places opening we often find it's people who have got big backing." It comes after Sunday Brunch star Elliot Kaye and Richie Hayes shared that they would be closing their modern-style greasy spoon. The North London eatery Norman's Cafe had long been a hub for influencers and fashion-forward people looking for a greasy spoon with a difference. Opened by Sunday Brunch chef Elliot Kaye and Richie Hayes, the posh restaurant first opened its doors in 2020. Norman's Cafe began as a sandwich shop before widening its menu to include a range of British classics. Despite its immense popularity, however, the shop's owners announced that it will close its doors in June 2025.

Credit: Jam Press/Rohan Tully The converted 1960s houseboat, which is spread across two levels, is moored up in Penton Hook Marina in Chertsey, Surrey. It was initially on the market for £750,000 but is now being sold at a bargain £525,000. It comes after owners Rohan Tully and ex-wife Christina struggled to secure a sale for the famous vessel. In 2020, the couple appeared on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces on Channel 4. They explained how they had given up their rental property in Paddington, central London, to renovate the boat. George, who presents the show, called the houseboat 'one of the best homes I've ever seen'. The pair initially looked to flog their home through an Omaze raffle after others sellers had success through the same route. And when that didn't work out, the couple managed to secure a private buyer for the houseboat. But the sale fell through when the interested party pulled out, choosing to move abroad and pursue a different opportunity. Love Island's Laura Anderson gives tour of her HUGE new mansion with en-suite rooms and garden so big it could be a park Now, Rohan has decided to cut down the price. Speaking to Luxury Property News, Rohan said: 'We initially tried to sell the houseboat via a raffle. 'Having seen others doing it, I thought it was an innovative approach to selling. 'Myself and Christina would have gotten something out of it, and a charity would get something out of it. 'Obviously the winner of the houseboat would also get something out of it. 'We were late to the game though and it didn't work out. But I have no regrets and if you don't try, you don't know.' The renovations were completed in 2020 and the vessel features a spacious living room and a large kitchen dining area. Large French doors lead out to an outdoor terrace and the master bedroom is en-suite, with a bath and twin basin vanity unit. Another bathroom and two other single bedrooms can also be found onboard. 7 The owners had given up their rental property in central London, to renovate the boat. Rohan has now moved onto his next project abroad and is hoping that their houseboat will be sold soon. He added: 'I'm already onto my next project so I would like to see the houseboat go to someone who will enjoy it as much as we did. 'It was a wonderful family home that we enjoyed creating. 'We paid a lot of due care and attention to the boat's conversion and finish. 'Everyone who has seen it has loved it, and we have some great memories of the project and living there.'

Daredevil dressed as wizard ‘lucky to be alive' after SOMERSAULTING down hill as he warns cheese chasing is ‘dangerous'

Heart stopping footage showing Ty Loerzer Fitzjones, 22, flying into the air and flipping into a somersault has been viewed more than 100 million times. Doctors were left astonished that he survived the fall without breaking any bones, or worse. He should have done it more Caerphilly but escaped with his em-mental health intact. Crackers music student Ty has been dubbed The Cheese Wizard and is being mobbed by stunned fans. Footage of his fall is quickly becoming a global sensation on TikTok and YouTube. Ty visited the cheese rolling event in Gloucestershire with pals last Monday, dressed in a long black cape and pointy hat. From Kilburn, London, Ty joined thousands of visitors from around the world who gather every year. He was determined to break the course record for the fastest descent in pursuit of a 7lb wheel of Double Gloucester. At the event, which dates back to 1826, fearless contestants aim to beat the cheese to the bottom of Cooper's Hill, even though it travels at speeds of up to 100km an hour down the 180m slope. Ty said: 'Years ago, growing up in France, I saw a Netflix documentary about cheese rolling and thought it looked like great fun. 'It was a glorious day, there was a really nice friendly atmosphere even though we had to wait an hour for The Cheese Master to start the race. 'I didn't have a plan but my girlfriend Lola sewed a chinstrap on my hat so I wouldn't lose it, and held on to my glasses so I wouldn't break them, and I just went barrelling off down the hill. 'I started running, thinking 'This is easy, I'm beating everybody' but then I lost my footing and suddenly there was a big drop, and that's when I thought 'Oh dear, this is not what I planned.' 'The next thing I remember is waking up in hospital three hours later in a compression suit and everything was a bit fuzzy.' 8 The clip of Ty's fall has been viewed millions of times on social media Credit: Dan Charity 8 Ty was rushed to hospital after the fall Credit: Dan Charity 8 After waking up in the hospital Ty headed to the pub Credit: Dan Charity When he came round after three hours, Ty was given a CAT scan and a number of cognitive tests. Astonishingly there was no sign of brain trauma, and he hadn't even fractured any bones. He was discharged without pain medication and headed to a nearby boozer where he was mobbed by tourists who witnessed his fall and were stunned to see him up and about. Ty commented: 'I've got a massive bruise on the top of my skull, cuts and scratches all down my arms and back, and I ache all over but I'm very grateful to still be here. 'I can laugh about the whole kerfuffle but it wasn't funny for my friends watching or my parents when they got the frightening phone call saying I was unconscious in the back of an ambulance. 'It's my first near death experience and it doesn't feel real yet. 'I definitely would not do cheese rolling again, I'm not going to push my luck. 'I wouldn't let anyone I love do it either, it's really dangerous and people are injured every year - it's not safe. 'It's very weird to think hundreds of millions of people around the world have watched me fall over, but I'm not embarrassed - I survived relatively unharmed.' 8 Ty escaped with only a few cuts and bruises Credit: Dan Charity
