Chilling new details on Sophia Hutchins' fatal ATV crash as Caitlyn Jenner addresses tragic death
Heartbreaking details about Caitlyn Jenner's friend and longtime manager Sophia Hutchins' shocking death have emerged.
'It looks like she may have been speeding and rear-ended the other car, the other party, and then that caused her to veer to the right and go off the cliff,' Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told the Daily Mail Saturday.
'It doesn't seem like she was following them. I think she just she came up on them and then hit the car,' Saucedo continued.
'So it looked like she tried to manoeuvre to go around it, but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there.'
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department didn't immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment.
Police have released more details about the death of Sophia Hutchins.
Hutchins died on Wednesday after suffering a fatal ATV crash while driving near Jenner's condo in Malibu, California. She was 29.
The manager was operating the ATV when she reportedly hit the bumper of a moving car, a gray 2016 Mazda 6. The impact catapulted her and the ATV down a 350-foot ravine.
Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the accident.
Footage captured by a KCAL News chopper later that day showed a blue ATV laying on top of an upside-down vehicle that had previously crashed in the same spot.
Hutchins (pictured left) was a close friend of Caitlyn Jenner, who was previously married to Kardashian family mumager Kris Jenner.
The new crash details come shortly after Jenner shared she was going through 'tough times' following her longtime friend's passing.
The former athlete, 75, broke her silence on Hutchins' death when the Daily Mail spotted her on a Starbucks run Thursday.
The ex-Olympian declined to speak further with the outlet.
Hutchins was just 29.
Jenner and Hutchins were introduced through their mutual hairstylist in 2015 — the same year Jenner came out as transgender.
Hutchins previously claimed Jenner's coming out story inspired her to move forward with her own transition.
After two years, Hutchins began living with Jenner and became her manager.

Kevin Costner has sought to have a sexual harassment lawsuit brought by a stuntwoman dismissed. The 70-year-old actor-and-director is being sued by Devyn LaBella, who has claimed she was subjected to a 'violent, unscripted, unscheduled rape scene' without notice on set in May 2023 while filming Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 but his legal team have filed new court documents asking for the lawsuit - which accused the Bodyguard star of sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, creation of a hostile work environment, retaliation, and breach of contract - to be thrown out. In paperwork obtained by the Daily Mail, it is claimed Devyn was happy on set and even sent a grateful text to a supervisor after the shoot wrapped, as well as offering Kevin's own version of what happened during the scene in question. According to the actor's declaration, the scene was included the script and saw Devyn in "full costume" of bike shorts and ankle-length dress lying next to actor Roger Ivens in a covered wagon. He insisted the scene only had Roger lift the hem of Devyn's dress before swinging a leg over her so that he ended up "on all fours over her". The declaration insisted: "There was no nudity, simulated sex, simulated rape, physical contact, fighting, gyrating, or any physicality other than Devyn's outer dress being pushed from her ankles to her knees. "While Devyn's outer dress may have bunched up around her knees (there was a lot of fabric), the dress was still below her waist and the pantaloons and petticoats underneath remained undisturbed." The Yellowstone actor insisted the scene had been blocked ahead of time with the participation of the performer, who "understood what was to happen and consented to help.". In the filing, Kevin - who directed, co-wrote, produced and starred in Horizon - included declarations from other members of the cast and crew to support his version of events. And he alleged Devyn had texted a supervisor after filming and said: "hank you for these wonderful weeks! I so appreciate you! I learned so much and thank you again. I'm really happy it worked out the way it did too. Have a great rest of the shoot and yes talk soon!" The stuntwoman's team first filed the lawsuit against Costner and Horizon producers in May, and weeks later filed an amended complaint including text messages with the movie's intimacy coordinator, and the alleged emotions she felt after the scene. In response, Kevin's lawyer Marty Singer told in a statement: "Ms. LaBella was doing a rehearsal on an Insert Shot for a scripted scene. There was no intimacy or anything sexual in the shot. "There was tugging on a dress while she was fully clothed in a dress with long bloomers lying down next to a male actor." The lawyer has also alleged that LaBella - who was a stunt double for series star Ella Hunt - thanked her supervisor for "these wonderful weeks" after finishing work on the Western saga. Singer continued: "Numerous witnesses have contradicted Ms. LaBella's meritless claims. "She herself texted her supervisor after she wrapped stating, 'Thank you for these wonderful weeks.' "We look forward to the swift end of this specious lawsuit." Court documents stated Devyn was hired as a stunt double and not informed or consented to the added scene, which she alleges caused 'permanent trauma'. She also claimed the absence of an intimacy coordinator during filming. Her suit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, states the scene was not on the call sheet and Ella herself refused to perform it, allegedly walking off set. She added Kevin directed Roger to perform the assault scene and asked her to stand in without adequate preparation or safeguards. Kevin's attorney Marty Singer denied the allegations, calling her a 'serial accuser' and accusing her of 'shakedown tactics'. He stated: 'Kevin always wants to make sure that everyone is comfortable working on his films and takes safety on set very seriously.' He also said Devyn had approved and rehearsed a prior intimate scene and was 'in good spirits' afterwards.

Lehrmann in new bid to clear name after defamation loss
Bruce Lehrmann will have three days to convince an appeals court to toss out findings he likely raped his colleague Brittany Higgins in parliament house. The former federal political staffer is seeking to overturn a Federal Court judgment he was not defamed by Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson during an interview with Ms Higgins on The Project in 2021. Justice Michael Lee found Ms Higgins' claims she had been raped in parliament house in 2019 were substantially true in a ruling against Lehrmann in April 2024. But Lehrmann, 29, claims the judgment was rife with errors and launched an appeal which will be ventilated over three days, beginning on Wednesday in Sydney. The ex-Liberal staffer alleges he was denied procedural fairness because the events found by the judge were "starkly different" from the case run by Ten. He points to the allegation Ms Higgins had repeatedly said "no on a loop" during the alleged incident, which Justice Lee was not satisfied had occurred. The case as found by Justice Lee wasn't put to him during cross-examination for his response, Lehrmann argues. He says because of deficiencies in Ms Higgins' evidence, the judge should not have found he engaged in rape. The judge found Lehrmann had been "hell-bent" on having sex with Ms Higgins and had a mindset of "non-advertent recklessness" which showed he knew she was not consenting. But that definition of rape has been criticised by Lehrmann, who claims it's inconsistent with the meaning conveyed to an ordinary person. Justice Lee is also accused of erring by finding Lehrmann would only be entitled to damages of $20,000 if he had succeeded in his defamation suit against Ten. Lehrmann's lawyer Zali Burrows has previously said he should be awarded a seven-figure sum for the "false charge of rape". Lehrmann continues to deny he sexually assaulted Ms Higgins and a criminal case against him in 2022 was abandoned without any findings against him. Fiona Jordan apologises for filming toddler vaping video in New York
A 23-year-old influencer has apologised for her role in exposing a toddler to a vape while babysitting after a video of the act resurfaced online. Fiona Jordan, a New York-based influencer, has taken to social media to address a viral clip from when she was 15 that has recently started doing the rounds online again, causing a lot of 'concern, confusion and anger' among her followers. The video showed an unknown toddler having a vape put in their mouth, before the small child sucked in the smoke and coughed. Hysterical laughter could be heard in the background. Ms Jordan was the one behind the camera filming the incident, according to the Daily Mail, and people were quick to condemn the act. 'This is horrifying,' one person said. Another said: 'Disturbing she thinks child abuse is funny. An absolutely vile individual.' One said that child protective services should be called in to investigate the situation. Ms Jordan has since taken to social media to issue an apology about the incident, although she never specified exactly what happened in the clip she was apologising for. 'I was 15 years old, and it was shortly after my mother was murdered. I was not in the right state of mind. I was grieving in ways that even I couldn't understand,' she said. 'As a young girl I was hanging around a lot of the wrong people and making a lot of reckless choices.' She said she was 'drinking often' and 'made a terrible decision' Ms Jordan said while she wasn't the person who gave the toddler the electronic nicotine device, filming and being there made her 'just as guilty'. 'I take full responsibility for this,' she said. 'Right after this incident, I fully co-operated with law enforcement and took full responsibility for my actions on that day. I am truly, deeply sorry for the pain I caused that family now and then. 'I am so sorry to anyone I have hurt with that video, whether you're a parent or somebody who's experienced harm or gone through anything like that — or, honestly, just as a human being — I am so sorry.' Ms Jordan said since the incident eight years ago, she has worked incredibly hard to change, grow and heal. She said she was no longer the 'broken teenage girl' she once was. 'I built my page off of authenticity and showing all the real sides of life, and that also means owning up to my mistakes,' she said. 'I am a human. I make mistakes, and this is one I regret more than anything in this world.' The influencer said the video didn't reflect who she is now, or the values that she holds, adding while she couldn't change what she did, she could hold herself accountable. Ms Jordan, who is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, boasts more than 700,000 followers across social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Her mother was killed in a car accident in 2018.
