Hamas condemns 'Israeli' abduction of Gaza Ministry of Health spokesperson
In a press statement issued Monday, Hamas said Al-Hams was kidnapped while visiting a field hospital operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Rafah. The group claimed that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on the ambulance transporting him, killing several civilians, including journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin.
Hamas accused 'Israel' of deliberately targeting medical workers through 'killing, arrest, and intimidation,' describing the incident as part of a wider campaign to cripple Gaza's health sector.
The movement held the 'fascist occupation government' fully responsible for Hams' life and the lives of hundreds of other detained medical personnel, whom it said are being held in 'inhumane conditions.'
Hamas urged the international community, particularly the ICRC and the World Health Organization (WHO), to strongly condemn the incident and pressure 'Israel' to release detained doctors. The statement further called on global institutions to 'confront the genocide war that is targeting all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip.'

UK surgeon recounts harrowing crisis of Gaza healthcare system
Professor Nick Maynard, a distinguished British consultant gastrointestinal surgeon, has returned from a volunteer mission at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, delivering a stark and harrowing account of what he describes as a systematic humanitarian catastrophe. His testimony highlights "indescribably bad" levels of malnutrition, targeted attacks on civilians seeking aid, and a healthcare system in complete collapse. Professor Maynard, who has volunteered in Gaza for 15 years, noted a drastic deterioration in conditions since the conflict began in October 2023. He reported that malnutrition is "much, much worse now than a year ago," leading to preventable deaths among patients whose injuries cannot heal due to lack of food. He witnessed four recent infant deaths in the neonatal unit due to malnutrition, describing a seven-month-old who "looked like a newborn". Attempts by other international doctors to bring in formula feed were reportedly confiscated by 'Israeli' authorities. The surgeon also treated a "relentless" influx of trauma casualties, including "multiple gunshot wounds every day". These injuries, he observed, primarily occurred at "militarised distribution points, where starving civilians are going to try and get food but then report getting targeted by 'Israeli' soldiers or quadcopters". Professor Maynard frequently operated on "teenage boys with gunshot wounds, often twelve or thirteen years old," who had been shot while seeking food for their families, recounting the death of a 12-year-old shot through the chest on his operating table. Medical teams noted a "clear pattern of people being shot in certain body parts on different days, such as the head, legs or genitals, which seems to indicate deliberate targeting". He cited instances of "four young teenagers come in, in the space of one hour, with gunshot wounds to their testicles," which he deemed "beyond coincidence". Gaza's health system is in a state of "complete collapse," with severe shortages of basic supplies like morphine, antibiotics, and even running water for hygiene. Beyond trauma, a "silent catastrophe" is unfolding, with normal care for chronic diseases like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer "not being treated at all," potentially leading to tens of thousands more deaths. Professor Maynard believes he is witnessing a "systematic effort by 'Israel' to dismantle Gaza's civilian infrastructure," extending to the destruction of laboratories, dialysis machines, agricultural systems, and water sanitation plants. He stated, "I think what we're witnessing is a very deliberate plan to erase the Gaza population from this land. I do not believe for a minute this is just about destroying Hamas... with the very clear aim of ethnic cleansing and getting the whole population out of this land". In a powerful plea, Professor Maynard concluded that "the enforced malnutrition and attacks on civilians we are witnessing will kill many more thousands of people if not stopped". He called the "deliberate starvation of the Palestinian population in Gaza... utterly unconscionable" and urged that "something must be done to stop this collective punishment of the population of Gaza". Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), with whom he volunteered, echoes these calls, demanding an immediate lifting of the blockade, unrestricted humanitarian access, and the dismantling of militarized distribution sites.

No proof Hamas stole US-funded aid in Gaza, says USAID study
A recent internal review by the US government has found no evidence that the Palestinian group Hamas systematically diverted US-funded humanitarian aid in Gaza, according to an unreported study by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The findings contradict previous assertions made by both 'Israel' and the US, which had been used to justify a controversial new armed private aid operation. The USAID study, conducted by one of its bureaus and completed in late June, examined 156 cases of lost or stolen aid reported by USAID partner organizations between October 2023 and May 2025. According to a slide presentation of the findings, the analysis found "no reports alleging Hamas" benefited from US-supplied aid. While the study noted it was often unable to attribute incidents of theft to a specific actor, it highlighted that 44 of the 156 incidents were "either directly or indirectly" due to 'Israeli' military actions, including airstrikes or evacuation orders. A State Department spokesperson disputed the findings, but did not provide corroborating evidence. The USAID report emerges amidst a deepening food crisis in Gaza, and humanitarian agencies continue to warn of an escalating famine due to deliberate starvation. This dire situation has made aid distribution points highly dangerous, particularly those managed by the new armed private aid operation, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is backed by the US and "Israel." According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 1,083 people have been killed and over 7,275 wounded while attempting to access food at aid distribution points since the war began. United Nations reports corroborate high casualty figures around these private aid hubs, with UN human rights office OHCHR noting 875 people killed by July 13 while trying to get food, with 674 of those near GHF sites. T he head of the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, has publicly called the GHF system a "death trap costing more lives than it saves." The ongoing genocide in Gaza has resulted in more than 59,500 Palestinian fatalities since October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The ministry indicates that over half of those killed are women and children. The war has severely devastated the enclave's infrastructure, gutted its health system, and led to widespread severe food shortages.

Ben Gvir: 'No hunger in Gaza, I support starving Hamas'
'Israeli' National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir denied the existence of famine in Gaza, stating: 'Factually, there is no hunger in Gaza.' He added: 'If they were really hungry, they would have returned the hostages already,' and openly declared: 'I support starving Hamas in Gaza.' 1. עובדתית אין רעב בעזה. 2. אם הם היו רעבים כבר היו מחזירים את החטופים הביתה. 3. אני בעד להרעיב את החמאס בעזה. — איתמר בן גביר (@itamarbengvir) July 25, 2025 Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Health Ministry in Gaza, has warned of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged enclave. He said residents of Gaza are facing a severe famine, with many surviving only on salt and water for days. 'Some people have lost up to 25 kilograms in recent weeks,' he noted, describing the situation as widespread across the population. He cited alarming findings from a recent health survey of pregnant women and children, which revealed that over 50% now suffer from acute malnutrition, a sharp increase from just 0.5% at the start of the month. Al-Bursh called the figures 'terrifying jumps' that point to total nutritional collapse. He accused the Israeli Occupation of deliberately creating crises and committing a slow-motion genocide against civilians. Over 13% of Gaza's population, he said, are crammed into an area no larger than one square kilometer, around 40,000 people living in what he called a 'maze of death.'
