266 aid trucks enter Gaza in 3 days as famine worsens
Only 266 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip over the past three days, far below the 1,800 expected, the Government Media Office reported on Monday.
The office said that just 1,937 trucks crossed into the enclave in the past 22 days—less than 15% of the 13,200 required—stressing that at least 600 trucks daily are essential to sustain Gaza's 2.4 million residents amid the collapse of basic services.
It accused Israel of deliberately obstructing relief through restrictions and border closures, leaving convoys exposed and crippling aid operations, while urging the UN, Arab and Islamic states, and the wider international community to guarantee the entry of food, medicine, and infant formula.

Officials warned that 40,000 infants under one year face acute malnutrition, while over 100,000 children and patients risk life-threatening shortages. The Health Ministry confirmed seven new deaths from hunger in the past 24 hours, including two children, raising the toll to 258 since October 7, 2023—110 of them children.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) accused Israel of 'using food as a weapon,' citing a sharp rise in malnutrition cases at its Gaza City clinic.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes intensified across the enclave. The Palestinian Information Center reported bombardments on Khan Younis and Gaza City's al-Zaytoun neighborhood. At least five people were killed while waiting for aid in southern Gaza, and shelling in central districts caused additional casualties.
According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israel's military campaign has killed 61,944 Palestinians and wounded 155,886 since the war began.

Israeli strikes kill dozens in Gaza as Hamas backs new ceasefire proposal
Shafaq News – Gaza Israeli forces carried out heavy air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing at least 20 people since dawn, health officials said, as famine conditions continued to worsen among displaced residents. Emergency services reported that overnight they recovered two bodies and evacuated 53 wounded people who had been waiting for humanitarian aid in northern Gaza. The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that since the outbreak of the war, 62,004 people have been killed and 156,230 injured, with more than 10,000 still missing. It added that famine has claimed the lives of 263 people, including 112 children. مشاهد جديدة صباح اليوم..بـ"الروبوتات المفخخة" والمتفجرات.. الاحتلال يواصل نسف عدد كبير من المنازل في حي الزيتون، جنوب شرق مدينة غزة. — المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام (@PalinfoAr) August 19, 2025 Among the casualties are 1,590 medical workers, 115 civil defense personnel, 220 journalists, and 754 police officers and aid escorts. Government figures and UN reports estimate that more than 88 percent of Gaza's buildings have been destroyed. Overall losses exceed $62 billion, while Israeli troops currently control about 77 percent of the territory. The destruction includes 149 schools and universities demolished, and 369 have been partially damaged. At least 828 mosques have been destroyed, 167 partly damaged, and 19 cemeteries flattened. According to local authorities, more than 10,460 people were killed and 44,189 wounded after Israel ended a ceasefire agreement on March 18, 2025. Since May 27, when Israel restricted humanitarian aid distribution to limited checkpoints that were later targeted, 1,965 people have been killed and 14,701 wounded. Gaza officials accuse Israel of using the 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,' described as a joint Israeli–American initiative rejected by the United Nations, to exert political pressure under the guise of aid delivery. Diplomatic efforts to halt the fighting have so far failed to produce results. Talks mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States ended in Doha on July 25 without agreement. However, the Palestinian Hamas Movement said it has delivered its formal approval to a new ceasefire proposal presented by Egyptian and Qatari mediators. According to a source quoted by Al Jazeera, the proposal includes: -A 60-day ceasefire. -Release of 10 living Israeli captives and 18 bodies, in exchange for 140 Palestinian prisoners serving life terms, 60 others sentenced to over 15 years, all female and juvenile detainees, and the transfer of Palestinian remains. -Entry of aid through UN, Red Crescent, and humanitarian agencies. -Israeli withdrawal of roughly 1,000 meters in the north and east of Gaza, except for the Shejaiya and Beit Lahia neighborhoods. -Launch of broader negotiations to end the war once the truce takes effect. Hamas's acceptance comes after a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which both leaders underlined the urgent need to deliver aid without obstruction, secure the release of captives, and reject any reoccupation or forced displacement of Palestinians.

Gaza faces ‘healthocide' while protests in Israel demand ceasefire
Shafaq News – Gaza Seven people, including two children, died within 24 hours from malnutrition in Gaza, amid what the Health Ministry described as a health and psychological genocide, while calls intensified for a ceasefire to end the suffering. فلسطينيون يشيعون جثامين عدد من الشهداء من بينهم أطفال، في المستشفى الأهلى العربي بمدينة غزة. — شبكة قدس الإخبارية (@qudsn) August 17, 2025 According to Munir Al-Barsh, Director-General at the ministry, the devastation extends beyond direct Israeli bombardment to what he called 'healthocide and psychocide'—a systematic destruction of the body and mind. He described how 38 hospitals have been reduced to only 15 partially functioning, more than half of Gaza's primary care centers are closed, and 183 ambulances have been destroyed. Nearly 1,600 healthcare workers have been killed, including 157 doctors, while hundreds more have been detained on duty. Famine is spreading rapidly, with 28,000 malnutrition cases documented this year, 40,000 infants and a quarter of a million children under five at risk of slow death, and nearly 90 percent of children under one suffering from anemia. Medical shortages have deepened the crisis: more than half of chronic disease treatments are unavailable, nearly two-thirds of cancer medicines are at zero stock, and almost half of children's vaccines have run out. Critical nutrition supplies are also exhausted, leaving 16,000 patients trapped without treatment abroad, with more than 1,100 dying while waiting for permits. The psychological toll is equally severe. Over one million children in Gaza are suffering from trauma—half with symptoms of post-traumatic stress—while 44,000 have lost one or both parents, and nearly 850 amputees now endure double trauma. UNRWA described conditions in Gaza as 'inhumane,' stressing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire. Juliette Touma, the agency's Communications Director, warned that the world is 'very, very close' to losing its collective humanity, accusing Israel and the United States of replacing the UN-led aid system with a politically motivated mechanism that has only deepened chaos and deprivation. 'We are very, very close to losing our collective humanity,' our @JulietteTouma tells @ manmade famine in #Gaza has been largely shaped by the deliberate attempts to replace the UN-coordinated humanitarian system through the politically motivated 'GHF'.This… — UNRWA (@UNRWA) August 17, 2025 Amid these calls, protests intensified in Israel demanding a ceasefire and the release of hostages held in Gaza. According to The Times of Israel, marchers advanced toward the prime minister's residence, while police used water cannons to disperse demonstrators who blocked a key tunnel leading into Jerusalem, arresting seven people and bringing the total detained nationwide to 25. 'Arrest me, but the protest movement will continue,' one detainee declared as police encircled him on the roadside.
