Shahid's co-star from the film,
Vijay Patkar
recalled in an interview with Filmymntra Media, "I was doing
R Rajkumar
. For seven days, Prabhudeva would narrate the scenes to Shahid's manager and the manager would then go and relay those scenes to Shahid Kapoor.'

'R...Rajkummar' starred Shahid opposite Sonakshi Sinha. It was a hit for him after many flops in a row and Shahid was elated about it. He had said, in an old interview with Hindustan Times, "Prabhu Deva has a knack for understanding what will make people clap and whistle. He promises an entertaining experience, and that's what the audience gets. This film is a reflection of that theory.'
