Here's the New Trailer for the Action-Packed Series ‘Countdown' Starring DAYS Alum Jensen Ackles

Yahoo26-06-2025
The trailer for Jensen Ackles's upcoming Prime Video series Countdown has been out for 24 hours, and it already has over 1.6 million views on YouTube (and counting). Ackles, who played the original Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives, steps into the lead, and from the looks of it, his new character has the ability to get into a lot of trouble and out of a lot of tight spots.
The Supernatural and The Boys actor plays Mark Meachum, an LAPD Detective with a bit of a death wish. After the death of a Homeland Security Agent, Meachum is recruited for a secret task force consisting of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement. According to a Prime Video press release, 'The hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions.'
In the brand-new trailer, this sinister plot is described as a 'Chernobyl-level event.' Hence, the task force will have to face massive explosions, deadly fights, and death-defying situations in order to 'stop a weapon of mass destruction.' No big deal, right?
But don't worry, since this is Ackles, the former soap star will mix up the action and danger with a little fun, sarcasm, and character-driven angst. Look for Countdown to debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Wednesday, June 25. The first three episodes drop first, and then new episodes will follow weekly. The season one finale touches down on Wednesday, September 3.
In addition to Ackles, Countdown stars Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy, The Last Ship, Euphoria), Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Sleepy Hollow), Violett Beane (Death and Other Details), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock).

Chase Daniel breaks down training camp film of Broncos QB Bo Nix

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has been honing his craft in preparation for the 2025 NFL season, and the experts are taking notice. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel recently attended Broncos training camp alongside The Athletic's Diana Russini, and he was pleasantly surprised with the progress Nix has shown from 2024 to now. "I'm telling you, Bo Nix looks excellent," Daniel said on his YouTube channel. "He's ready to make a huge jump into year two." In his eight-minute assessment of Nix, Daniel complimented Nix's quick footwork, crisp passes on both downfield and intermediate throws and his improved mechanics after working with throwing guru Tom House. For example, at one point while looking at a clip of Nix taking a dropback, Daniels remarked, "That's the quickest five-step drop you could possibly take." As a former quarterback himself, Daniel then took viewers through why he likes what he sees. "I like these type of drills; this is really cool. (It is) a little peek under the hood of how things are made in a perfect throw," said Daniel. Daniel reviewed about 10 throws from Nix, showing how his game has taken a dramatic step forward going into 2025. "I am bullish on the Denver Broncos," said Daniel. "I think they have everything they need." Fans will get their first look at Nix's growth when Denver takes on the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason opener on Saturday (view the full preseason schedule). Tom Holland Wore His Grandma's Fishnets During ‘Lip Sync Battle'

Aside from being an incredibly successful actor and our latest Spider-Man, Tom Holland goes down in history as one of the best Lip Sync Battle performers of all time, thanks to his mashup of Gene Kelly's 'Singing in the Rain' and Rihanna's 'Umbrella' in 2017. Just when we thought we knew everything about the hilarious moment where he secured his win against Zendaya's Bruno Mars cosplay, Tom casually dropped some new lore about his lip sync battle eight years later. During an appearance on Gordon Ramsay's Scrambled YouTube series, the celebrity chef got Tom to spill some details as they made spicy chicken sandwiches together. When asked if he borrowed his tights for his 'Umbrella' lip sync, Tom revealed, 'Were they mum's fishnets? They were my granny's, actually.' He added, 'What was really great about that is people didn't know that I could dance. I kept that quiet, I don't know why. And I came out with a bang.' As for how he and his now-fiancée prepped for the battle, Tom said they had originally agreed to keep things pretty chill. 'It's so funny, Zendaya and I, we were chatting at the time about what we were gonna do, and we had agreed that we would take it easy,' he explained to the celeb chef. 'That was the agreement, that it was like, 'I'm not gonna do anything crazy, you're not gonna do anything crazy, we're just gonna keep it nice and easy breezy.'' Obviously, it was nothing of the sort, as they pulled up in full costume for each of their lip syncs. Now, let's have a moment of silence (or, in our case, an uproar of laughter) for Tom's complete masterpiece of a performance: An icon, truly.
