Washington Post5 hours ago

BANGKOK — Thai police said Tuesday over a dozen foreigners, mostly Australians and British, were arrested for allegedly running an online investment fraud that had duped people out of at least 1.9 million Australian dollars (about $1.2 million).
Police raided Monday a rental house in the province of Samut Prakan, neighboring Bangkok, and arrested 13 people, said Jirabhob Bhuridej, chief of the police's Central Investigation Bureau, at a press conference in the Thai capital.

Shocking video shows UFC star Conor McGregor knock out man in nightclub

Shocking video shows UFC star Conor McGregor knock out man in nightclub UFC star Conor McGregor was caught on camera getting violent with a man Tuesday morning at a nightclub in Ibiza. Video obtained by British tabloid The Sun shows McGregor punching a man twice at a packed Pacha nightclub. In the footage, McGregor appears to be elevated while standing on a booth on the outskirts of the dance floor when he leans down toward a man facing him. Seconds later, McGregor punches the man with a short left hand and follows up with a harder, cleaner strike that knocks him down. McGregor stands and watches over the scene, shielded by his posse, while other club goers rush reacting to what happened. The victim of McGregor's violence was apparently escorted out of the nightclub, while McGregor was allowed to continue partying. A person at the nightclub told The Sun: 'Clearly something's been said to annoy him, and he's reacted very badly. The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away. There (didn't appear to be any) consequences for Conor, but the guy he punched was taken away, and I didn't see him again.' McGregor is no stranger to trouble in Ibiza. In 2023, a woman accused McGregor of attacking her on a yacht in Ibiza. Tuesday's attack by McGregor is reminiscent of a 2019 incident in which McGregor was caught on video sucker punching an elderly man, seemingly for no reason, at a pub in Dublin. McGregor, who turns 37 on July 14, hasn't been a part of any sanctioned violence inside of a UFC cage (or boxing ring) since a July 2021 TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in which he broke his leg.

Raducanu stalker prevented from buying Wimbledon tickets

LONDON (AP) — The man accused of stalking tennis player Emma Raducanu tried to obtain tickets to Wimbledon but was blocked by the All England Club's security system, British media reported Tuesday. The BBC and others reported that the man tried to apply for tickets through the public ballot for the Grand Slam tournament that starts June 30. His name had been red-flagged. At the Dubai Championships in February, the man exhibited ' fixated behavior ' toward the 22-year-old Raducanu, who became distressed during a match when she noticed him in the crowd. A day earlier, he had left her a letter and took her photograph, which unnerved the 2021 U.S. Open champion. After seeing the man in the stands, Raducanu took shelter behind the umpire's chair during her second-round match against Karolina Muchova. Raducanu later said she ' couldn't see the ball through tears ' and struggled to breathe before approaching the umpire. The man was ejected from the tournament. He was later detained by Dubai police and signed a document pledging to 'maintain distance' from Raducanu, who is ranked No. 36. ___ More AP tennis:
