TDP MPs seek Defence Ministry support for manufacturing hubs in Andhra Pradesh
The delegation, led by MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu, and comprising MPs Magunta Srinivas Reddy and Daggumalla Prasada Rao, urged the Union Minister to support the creation of a defence production hub in Andhra Pradesh.
As part of a comprehensive defence development plan for the State, the MPs presented a proposal for the establishment of four defence and aerospace manufacturing hubs, facilitation of defence investments and strategic projects, and the creation of a Statewide defence industry ecosystem.
The proposal stated that these initiatives are aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, and are aimed at strengthening India's strategic capabilities while driving industrial growth and employment generation in Andhra Pradesh.
'We seek your kind consideration and approval for recognising the proposed defence hubs and supporting the outlined initiatives. This will enable Andhra Pradesh to emerge as a key pillar in India's defence and aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, and significantly contribute to national security, indigenisation, and self-reliance efforts,' the proposal read.

Delhi Assembly set to hold first paperless session from August 4
The upcoming session of the Delhi Assembly from August 4 to August 8 will be the first fully paperless e-Assembly session in the Capital's history, chief minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday at the Delhi Secretariat after holding a a meeting of the legislative party. The inauguration will be done by Union minister for law and justice Arjun Ram Meghwal. A special trial run of the e-Vidhan platform, part of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) programme, will also be held during the event. The trial will allow MLAs to experience the new digital interface firsthand ahead of the upcoming session. Gupta said that she has transformed her own office into an e-Office to set a benchmark for other departments to follow. 'We are working in alignment with the vision of the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This system ensures accountability and provides real-time updates on how long files are pending with any officer or department,' Gupta said. She said that the e-Office platform, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), showed remarkable results in July. Out of the Delhi government's 199 departments, 119 are now fully operational on e-Office, up from 22% in June to nearly 60% now. During the same period, the number of digital files used by these departments exceeded 118,000, marking a growth of over 250% compared to the previous month (June). 'The e-Office system has not only significantly reduced paper consumption but has also made decision-making faster and more transparent. Government officials and staff in Delhi are now benefitting from digital file tracking, quicker approvals, and immediate implementation of decisions,' she said.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said that the welfare of farmers is a top priority of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the gathering of farmers, officials and dignitaries in Patna, Agriculture Minister Chouhan said that with the help of the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme, the government is ensuring that the assistance reaches directly into the accounts of the farmers. He highlighted the significant contribution of Makhana production in Bihar and the continuous efforts to connect agricultural science with the farms. The Union Minister assured the timely and adequate availability of fertilisers and pesticides. He also informed about the efforts under various schemes to provide compensation in case of crop failure. He said that now the crops are procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP), to which 50 per cent profit is added on the production cost. This reflects the farmer-centric approach of the government.
