Justin Rose's Wife, Kate 13-Second Statement to Rory McIlroy at Masters Revealed

It is hard to believe that the Master Tournament ended almost two weeks ago, as Rory McIlroy ended his major championship drought.
His victory left a mark on the golf world, as it is rare for someone to achieve the career grand slam. Celebrities and fellow golfers congratulated him after his big win.
McIlroy defeated Justin Rose in a one-hole playoff, but instead of sulking, the Englishman's wife, Kate, made sure to stick around and congratulate the winner.
She was waiting for him at the clubhouse, embracing the five-time major champion for a full 13 seconds.
"I'm really, really happy for you," Kate said to McIlroy as she hugged him, while the latter let the tears flow.

He embraced her right after Shane Lowry wrapped him in a bear hug. These are the people who have seen McIlroy struggle under pressure the last 11 years.
McIlroy knows the Rose's well. From the many Ryder Cups and years on Tour, these two European families are close, so it does not come as a surprise to see her be one of the people to celebrate him.
It is the second straight major championship that Rose finished in the runner-up position. Last year, the golf world saw how emotional he got at the Open Championship when he came up short, so one had to think Rose would be in a similar predicament at Augusta National.
He could have congratulated him and moved on, but Rose knows McIlroy well, so once the tournament officially ended, it was more about celebrating his friend.
It shows what kind of people Kate and Justin Rose are and how there are far more important things than golf.

Surprising PGA Tour Pro Ties Scottish Open Course Record for Lead
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Everyone knows that links golf is a different animal entirely. That is what makes what happened at the Scottish Open highly surprising. The 2025 Genesis Scottish Open is just Chris Gotterup's second start on links courses in his professional career. His debut was also at The Renaissance Club a year ago, and it couldn't have gone worse, as he missed the cut by six strokes. However, a year later, the story is completely different. Gotterup enters the weekend of the tournament as the sole leader at 11-under. But it was his second round that turned heads, tying Bernd Wiesberger's 2019 course record (9-under 61). Gotterup started the day in full swing, carding six bogey-free birdies on the front nine to make the turn with a 29 strokes, his PGA Tour career-low nine. He then added three more bogey-free birdies on the back nine to complete one of the best rounds of his career. In fact, his second-round score improved his season-best by two strokes. His previous low score of the year was the 63 he carded in the first round of the Puerto Rico Open. That performance allowed him to climb 32 spots on the leaderboard, sitting in first place. In the first round, Gotterup posted a score of 2-under with four birdies and two bogeys. Chris Gotterup of the United States tees off on the 18th hole on day two of the Genesis Scottish Open 2025 at The Renaissance Club on July 11, 2025 in North Berwick, Scotland. Chris Gotterup of the United States tees off on the 18th hole on day two of the Genesis Scottish Open 2025 at The Renaissance Club on July 11, 2025 in North Berwick, the 2024 edition of this event, Gotterup bowed out early after carding rounds of 66 and 77 (3-over). Gotterup wasn't widely tipped to do well at the Scottish Open. Before traveling to Scotland, he had played 21 PGA Tour tournaments and is still searching for his first top-10 finish of the season. Chris Gotterup: "You just take what you can get" After the second round, Chris Gotterup evaluated his performance and explained the importance of taking advantage of good opportunities to achieve a score like his: "I definitely played good today. Not a lot of wind in the morning which was obviously beneficial," he said. "But yeah, it's funny, when it flips, you get some holes that you like and some holes that you don't like and vice versa." "I think there's definitely certain holes that feel nice. Nice three pars to finish." "You just take what you can get, what the course gives you." Gotterup will start Moving Day at 10:45 a.m. Eastern Time, grouped with Harry Hall, who is second, two strokes behind the leader. Charley Hull Breaks Silence after Collapsing at Evian Championship
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Charley Hull is a familiar name in golf headlines, but it's never pleasant to see her in the condition she was in at Évian-Les-Bains. The Englishwoman was unable to finish the first round of the Amundi Evian Championship due to the effects of a virus that was affecting her. A day after this unfortunate situation, the LPGA Tour star addressed her fans through her Instagram account to give them an update on her health. Fortunately, it was good news: "Been struggling with a virus all week but it got the better of me yesterday... thanks to the medics who took care of me and to all those who have reached out with messages of support, it's really appreciated." "Happy to say I'm feeling a lot better today, just gutted I can't play the weekend at such a fantastic tournament." On Thursday, Charlie Hull was forced to sit on the ground while playing the 3rd hole (12th of the day), feeling seriously unwell. Shortly after, she collapsed on the 4th tee and had to be carried off the course by medical staff. She was later airlifted to a nearby hospital. Hull had carded three birdies and two bogeys before being forced to withdraw from the Evian Championship. A week earlier, she had played in the KPMG Women's Irish Open on the Ladies European Tour, where she finished fourth with a score of 12-under. This was Hull's 13th appearance at the Evian Championship. She had made eight cuts so far at Évian-Les-Bains, but had only managed one top-10 finish, tying for third in 2022. Charley Hull of England falls as she climbs out of a bunker on the third hole, before later withdrawing from play, during Round One of The Amundi Evian Championship 2025 at Evian Resort Golf Club on July 10, 2025 in Evian-les-Bains, France. MoreHull has been falling short of expectations during the 2025 season. In nine LPGA Tour events before the Evian Championship, she had finished in the top 10 only once, fourth place at the HSBC Women's World Championship. On the Ladies' European Tour, she has played in only two events and finished in the top 10 in both. These results have caused her to drop significantly in the world rankings, where she currently sits at 19th. She started the year as World No. 8.
