Anil Kapoor backs Dr. Dharmendra Kumar's healthcare mission
In a proud moment for healthcare and social service, legendary actor
Anil Kapoor
, along with former Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, presented a ₹75 lakh cheque to Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, founder of the R.K.
HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, at a ceremony at an event recently.
The event celebrated the NGO's Guinness World Record for conducting the World's Largest Free General Medical Camp. Expressing gratitude, Dr. Kumar said, 'This support strengthens our mission to reach the unreached. Our commitment is to ensure no one is denied healthcare due to lack of resources.' For over two decades, Dr. Kumar has led free medical camps across India, serving millions.
His NGO has also conducted exclusive free healthcare camps for Bollywood workers over the past four years, and distributed thousands of wheelchairs, reading glasses and medicines.
Dr. Kumar is also spearheading the 'TV Mukt Bharat Abhiyan', a tuberculosis eradication campaign in collaboration with the Government of India.
Anil Kapoor, a veteran actor, is known for blockbuster films like Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Lamhe and many such films. He was last seen in Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter. The actor had an interesting role in it and it connected with masses. Recently, his son-in law Anand turned a year older on July 29, Anil took to social media to share a heartfelt birthday post. Calling Anand the "heart of the family," Anil's tribute struck a warm chord with fans.
He praised Anand not just for being a loving husband to Sonam Kapoor but also for being a hands-on dad to their son, Vayu. The post was filled with affection, admiration, and a touch of Anil's signature charm.
