Srinagar, Aug 9 (PTI) Chhari Mubarak, the saffron-robed holy mace of Lord Shiva, was Saturday carried to the Amarnath holy cave shrine for traditional prayers and rituals, marking the ceremonial conclusion of the annual pilgrimage, officials said.
After the 'aarti' was concluded, the holy mace left for Panchtarani for a night halt. On Sunday, the Chhari Mubarak will leave for Pahalgam where 'pujan' and 'visarjan' ceremonies will be held on Monday on the banks of river Lidder.
More than 4.14 lakh pilgrims performed the annual Amarnath Yatra this year as the pilgrimage was concluded on August 2 in the wake of bad weather and slippery route conditions.
Last year, 5.10 lakh yatris had 'darshan' of the naturally formed 'ice lingam' at the holy cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. PTI SSB MNK MNK

Nepalese PM Oli to visit India on Sept 16-17: Foreign Ministry sources
Kathmandu, Aug 11 (PTI) Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is likely to pay an official visit to India from September 16-17, the Foreign Ministry sources said here on Monday. A wide range of issues, such as trade, tourism, information technology, connectivity, hydropower and border, will be discussed during the visit, they added. The Foreign Ministry is currently working towards finalising the agenda and itinerary for the proposed high-level visit, said the Foreign Minister's Press Advisor Ek Raj Pathak. On Monday, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, who would be part of Oli's delegation, said that direct flights between Nepalgunj and Delhi will be on 'top" of her agenda during the upcoming visit to India. 'Direct air connectivity between Nepalgunj, a Western Nepal city, and New Delhi will be my top agenda," Deuba said at a meeting with political leaders, lawmakers and industrialists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 'If this happens, it will certainly change the face of Western Nepal," she said, adding that the government has already done the necessary groundwork to strengthen the necessary infrastructure in the area for the purpose. Gujarat CM reviews development projects in Vadnagar
Ahmedabad, Aug 11 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday conducted an on-site inspection of key developmental projects being implemented by the state government and the Centre in Vadnagar city, known for its historical and archaeological heritage. Patel inspected the progress of the multi-model transport hub being developed by the Gujarat Tourism Corporation opposite the Vadnagar railway station, and instructed officials to ensure proper coordination between the Railways and the tourism department, an official release stated. To strengthen tourism facilities, a multi-modal transport hub and public plaza — linking Vadnagar railway station with the city's major attractions — is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore. The project will feature amenities such as parking, rest areas, and a cafeteria, along with the plantation of more than 2,000 trees across the premises. As part of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Centre, the government is developing key heritage sites in Vadnagar, including Sharmishtha Lake, Tana Riri Park, Lateri Stepwell, Ambaji Kotha Lake, the railway station, and Fort Wall. The chief minister also visited the site of L&T Construction Skills Training Institute (CSTI), which is being built on 37,628 sq metres of land allotted by the state government, with an open practical yard of 4,000 sq metres. The CSTI will impart technical education and vocational training to youths in 14 different fields, the release stated. Patel also offered prayers at the historic Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple. Various facilities for pilgrims were recently built at the temple at a cost of Rs 22.22 crore, it stated.
