Amit Shah Congratulates Security Forces, J&K Administration For Keeping Amarnath Yatra Safe

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated all security forces, Amarnathji Shrine Board, Jammu-Kashmir administration and voluntary organisations for their contribution in making the annual Amarnath Yatra safe and smooth.
The yatra began on July 3 and was scheduled to conclude on August 9 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. However, authorities decided to shorten it by a week due to heavy rainfall and its impact on the yatra route.
In a post on X, Shah said more than 4.14 lakh devotees visited the holy Amarnath cave shrine, reflecting the unbroken tradition and faith of Indian culture. " I congratulate all the security forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Jammu-Kashmir administration and voluntary organizations for their contribution in making this pilgrimage safe and smooth."
'The contribution of all of you in making this holy pilgrimage successful was commendable and unique. May Baba Barfani keep his blessings on everyone," he added.

The Amarnath Yatra is an annual Hindu pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters in the hills of Jammu and Kashmir. The cave houses a naturally formed ice Shivling, believed to represent Lord Shiva, and draws lakhs of devotees every year.
However, the yatra was affected by heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, which rendered the roads unsafe. Authorities announced that the yatra would be suspended from August 3 due to the need for track maintenance along both the Baltal and Pahalgam axes of the route.

On July 17, the yatra was suspended due to heavy rains at the twin base camps in Kashmir. A woman pilgrim died while three others sustained injuries on July 16 in a landslide incident along the Baltal route of the Amarnath Yatra in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, four pilgrims were washed downhill by a landslide at Railpathri along the Baltal axis to the holy cave.
This year, following a major terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, the government deployed the highest number of troops ever for the annual yatra. Ahead of Independence Day, Punjab DGP holds law, order review meetings in state
Agency: PTI Chandigarh, Aug 12 (PTI) Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday chaired a law and order review meeting and outreach sessions with officers of Ferozepur, Faridkot, Bathinda and Patiala ranges ahead of Independence Day. During his day-long tour, the DGP has visited three districts including Ferozepur, Bathinda and Patiala. He issued strategic directives on counter-terror readiness, inter-district coordination, checkpoints, and continuous surveillance to ensure safe Independence Day celebrations and to eliminate the cross-border drug menace through enforcement of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act . Yadav appreciated police work on 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign and directed them to further intensify initiative to wipe out the drugs from the state. He also briefed the police force regarding the current security scenario and reviewed counter-terror strategies. As part of the outreach, Yadav also engaged directly with officers across all ranks including station house officers (SHOs), encouraging an open discussion and exchange of valuable field insights to strengthen inter-district coordination. 'Had a fruitful feedback session with all SHOs, who are truly the backbone of Punjab Police. The interaction provided valuable insights and constructive feedback, reinforcing our shared commitment to public safety and community well-being," he said. Passenger on India debut: I would love to work in a Bollywood film
Though he's visited India quite a few times as a tourist, his week-long sojourn this November is extra special. Passenger aka Mike Rosenberg is looking forward to marking his music debut in India with a three-city tour. 'India has always been close to my heart. I've been to Kerala so many times and the place is magical. But I never got a chance to travel to other parts of the country. For instance, for the role of a software engineer in San Francisco, between Level 1 with annual compensation of $135,699, and Level 4 at $213,512, the latter would be preferred as per the role. The compensation was based on the current wage data from the US Department of US government decision is likely to impact hiring for entry-level positions. Immigration experts said the move may also hit diversity in hiring talent as it prioritises wages.
