Former Hibs player Jake Doyle-Hayes has started legal proceedings against the club after sustaining 'horrific' injuries.
This happened after a tackle by then manager Lee Johnson. Now playing for Sligo Rovers, the Irishman has lawyers acting on his behalf as they accuse Johnson of making 'incompetent and incoherent decisions'.
After clashing with former boss Johnson, the 26-year-old suffered an ankle injury in 2022 which left him in need of surgery, reports the Daily Record.
And it's understood the player, who left Hibs by mutual consent in January 2025, has taken legal action.
The case at the Court of Session was called on Wednesday, with Doyle-Hayes represented by Thompsons Scotland LLP.
The legal firm say the Irish footballer's career has been "greatly restricted" by the injuries suffered.

Hearts have signed a co-operation agreement with Edinburgh neighbours Spartans in an effort to enhance the development of young players. The new Scottish Football Association initiative was launched for the 2025/26 season, allowing anyone aged 16-21 who is eligible for the Scottish national team to move freely between two clubs. Spartans are Hearts' first partners in the new project as the two sides work towards a full collaboration. Tynecastle B team captain Kenzi Nair is the first player to benefit from the arrangement, which will see him play for the William Hill League Two side but also for his parent club this year. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The Hearts technical development manager Shelley Kerr explained the deal on the club's official website. 'We're delighted to have reached an agreement with The Spartans to enter a co-operation agreement,' she said. 'The system as a whole is an excellent approach that offers invaluable opportunities to our young players at a crucial stage in their development. 'The system is more flexible than the traditional loan structure and is something that is already in operation across Europe, to great success. It aligns with the club's strategy, which centres around recruiting, developing and supporting talented, young players, with the ultimate goal of producing players who are capable of excelling at the highest level. 'The Spartans share our commitment to player development and embrace similar values in nurturing young talent. We already have a strong working relationship with the club, utilising their excellent facilities for our B Team fixtures in the Scottish Lowland League and I'm excited to see the potential benefits of this partnership unfold.' Hibs icon strikes deal with Hearts Mixu Paatelainen appointed former Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen as their sporting director earlier this year. He is also pleased to link up with Hearts. 'We are delighted to have a co-operation agreement with Heart of Midlothian FC. The opportunity to help young players develop in coming to us to play competitive matches is something that we are excited about,' he stated. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'It also gives us a wonderful chance to add to our squad quality, ambitious youngsters who will make our squad stronger and more competitive. It is a win-win situation, which we are thankful for.' Hearts officials are keen to develop younger players in the hope they can break into the first-team squad, which is currently congested. Seven new signings have arrived at Riccarton this summer, with two more to follow in the shape of Pierre Landry Kabore and Tomas Bent Magnusson. The level of competition currently makes it difficult for youth academy graduates to get first-team game time. Teenage striker James Wilson is an established member of the squad, but others like Macaulay Tait have had to leave on loan to play regularly. Tait joined Livingston, who also signed Hearts midfielder Aidan Denholm on a permanent contract. Defender Lewis Neilson is on loan at Scottish Premiership newcomers Falkirk. Family announces death of Irish training great Edward O'Grady

O'Grady trained a whole host of top-class horses over the course of his long and illustrious career and for a long time was the leading Irish trainer at the Cheltenham Festival where he saddled 18 winners, the first being Mr Midland in the 1974 National Hunt Chase. A statement released by his family through Horse Racing Ireland read: 'It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Edward O'Grady, who passed away peacefully yesterday evening at St James's Hospital (in Dublin), surrounded by his family. 'Edward was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also one of the most respected and successful racehorse trainers of his generation. 'Over the course of an extraordinary career that spanned more than five decades, Edward trained just shy of 1,700 winners under rules. His name became synonymous with Irish National Hunt racing, and he was a formidable force at Cheltenham and across the racing world. 'Beyond the winners and the headlines, Edward was a man of deep intelligence, sharp wit, and remarkable warmth. He had friends on every continent, a story for every occasion, and a lifelong passion for the sport, the hunting field and everything equestrian. 'Funeral details will be announced in due course.' Perhaps the most talented horse to pass through O'Grady's hands was Golden Cygnet, a brilliant winner of the 1978 Supreme Novices' Hurdle but fatally injured in the Scottish Champion Hurdle the following month. More recent Festival winners for O'Grady include Pizarro, who landed the 2002 Champion Bumper in the hands of top Flat jockey Jamie Spencer, and the 2003 Supreme scorer Back In Front. Away from Cheltenham, O'Grady saddled Sound Man to win successive runnings of the Tingle Creek at Sandown in 1995 and 1996, while his final Grade One winner was Cash And Go in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown's Christmas Festival in 2011. Other top-class horses he trained include 2002 Irish Champion Hurdle winner Ned Kelly and his half-brother Nick Dundee, who both carried the colours of Coolmore supremo John Magnier. O'Grady trained for more than 50 years from his base in County Tipperary, taking over at Killeens after the death of his father, Willie – a former dual Irish champion jockey and later trainer – in January 1972. His final winner came via Our Soldier in a Bellewstown handicap hurdle at the start of July, while his last runner, Sovereign Banter, finished unplaced in a Cork sprint on Friday night.

Huw Jones reflects on emotional rollercoaster of Lions series triumph and has words for Garry Ringrose

Huw Jones admitted he had been riding an emotional rollercoaster, culminating in the British and Irish Lions clinching a series victory over Australia. Andy Farrell's men have returned to Sydney intent on becoming the first Lions team to complete a Test whitewash since the 1927 visit to Argentina – an aspiration made possible by Saturday's gripping 29-26 triumph in Melbourne. 'It was a pretty mental week. I had the initial disappointment of not being in the squad on the Tuesday,' Jones said. 'I had a chat with Andy and I was gutted. I got over that and was ready to get behind the boys. 'And then on Thursday we trained and Garry – to be fair to him – said his head just wasn't right. I think he may have got a knock in the session and went to the doctor. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'That's brave. And pulling yourself out as well. It was at the end of training, I had no idea that he was struggling. Garry Ringrose self-reported concussions symptoms to rule himself out of the British & Irish Lions Test win over Australia on Saturday. (Photo by) 'I chatted to Garry afterwards and he was emotional. Its one of those….you think 'I'll be all right' but if it's bad, it's bad. 'But like people have said, it's just a game. Your head's very important, you only get one brain and all that. 'If he felt the need to say that he was struggling, then fair play to him. I just hope that he gets over it very quickly. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I was gutted for him because he deserved to play and I know he would have been unbelievable. Sometimes that's rugby and that's sport. 'So I got a nod after that session. I was ready to step in and luckily I'd run some of the plays on Tuesday, so I was ready to go and got the job done.' Jones played a key part in the Lions' comeback from 18 points down after showing his strength to power over just before half-time, but it was Hugo Keenan's dashing finish with 51 seconds left that ignited the celebrations. Remarkably, Keenan's try was the first time the Lions had led in the second Test. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'What a game. Unbelievable. We made it hard for ourselves, ill-discipline and all that, but came back at the end and Hugo….what a finish. It was a good feeling,' Jones said. 'It's a cliche, but we never stopped believing, even at half-time. Even if we'd been further down, we still had the belief that we'd go on and win.' Farrell has given his squad two days off to celebrate Saturday's achievement with the players being joined by their friends and family.
