Spain's Defense Champion to Offer Investors Glimpse Into Plans

Bloomberg26-02-2025

Indra Sistemas SA's new executive chairman is set to offer investors a glimpse of his plan to accelerate the company's pivot to defense from technology, part of Spain's broader aspirations to build a national champion.
Angel Escribano, who took over when his predecessor unexpectedly moved to another company last month, will be addressing investors and media to present full-year earnings on Wednesday after European stock markets close. His first major move since taking over was helping steward an agreement to acquire a satellite operator in a bet that Europe needs a homegrown supplier to compete against Elon Musk's SpaceX.

CEO who sees Bitcoin hitting $1M now favors Tesla

CEO who sees Bitcoin hitting $1M now favors Tesla originally appeared on TheStreet. ARK Invest's CEO, Cathie Wood, conservatively estimates that Tesla's (TSLA) stock will reach $2,600 per share by 2030, representing a 744% increase from its current price. Wood's prediction is primarily tied to the forthcoming robotaxi platform, on a podcast called The Diary of a CEO. She refers to Tesla as potentially redefining its original model of selling electric vehicles for a one-time fee to customers who may rarely or never recharge, a major source of revenue. Instead, Wood argues that the major source of revenue for Tesla will now come from its autonomous vehicles, generating active recurring revenue. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, stated on a recent earnings call that Tesla's self-driving cars could function like Airbnb, allowing owners to generate passive income by renting out their cars when they're not in use. Owners could list their vehicles for short-term rentals, converting their idle assets into money-making machines. This model aligns well with the concept of decentralization underlying blockchain, which suggests that the two could work together. Crypto-based payments and smart contracts could facilitate the easy management and automation of transactions on this type of sharing platform, resulting in precise and quick settlements. Tesla could generate even more revenue by incorporating blockchain technology and utilizing cryptocurrency for ride payments or subscriptions. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also partnered with Polymarket, a cryptocurrency-based prediction market, for his other company, X. Wood sees Tesla and its customers having the potential to generate revenue in two ways: through subscription or pay-as-you-go models, depending on the vehicle's usage. If blockchain is incorporated, crypto could exist with both payment structures. "You could subscribe to the network. It could be either or subscription or à la carte if you don't think you're going to use it that much," said Wood. Cathie Wood's ARK Invest has made big crypto predictions in the past. She predicts Bitcoin will be worth $1.5 million by 2030 and supports a base case of $700,000. In the most optimistic scenarios, it could be worth $1 million. ARK's spot Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) now manages over $2.2 billion, indicating that large institutions are very interested in it. Wood's company also invested $373 million in Circle's initial public offering, which provided access to USDC and blockchain payments. Interestingly, Kraken has announced that users can now access tokenized stocks of Tesla around the clock, providing investors outside the U.S. with the chance to purchase stocks, bridging the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrency. At press time, Tesla is trading at 318.35, up 3.17% over the last 24 hours. Elon, Inc: What's Elon's Next Move?

On this week's episode, host David gathers Max Chafkin and Dana Hull to go through the latest developments in the aftermath of the Elon Musk-Donald Trump explosion last week. After two (!) emergency episodes in as many days last week, things seem to have calmed down between the South Africa native and the US president—but there are still signs of friction. Will Trump ever be able to forgive the insults Musk hurled at him on social media (as in, Trump should be impeached a third time)? Can he afford not to? In the midst of all the drama, it's easy to forget that this week will reportedly see a milestone event for Tesla: the June 12 launch of a robotaxi service in Austin, Texas. The operation will be small to start, with just 10-20 cars serving a limited area, according to the company. But the timing of the event is eyebrow raising. Not only does it come on the heels of Musk's tweet-storm meltdown, it also happens a mere week after a Bloomberg story outlining a lethal crash involving a self-driving Tesla. The crew discuss just how long the odds are for robotaxi success. To end, Chafkin has brought a feud to the program. This week it's Musk against his own chatbot, Grok. Why is he so disappointed with his digital companion this time? The answer includes a screen short, a left wing meme and an artificial intellgence with a surprising lack of digital critical thinking.

Tesla Launches Killer Model 3 Lease Offer for June

Tesla Launches Killer Model 3 Lease Offer for June originally appeared on Autoblog. The Tesla Model 3 has always been a compelling entry point into the world of electric vehicles. It's quick, comfortable, packed with tech, and now, thanks to an attractive new lease offer, it's surprisingly affordable. For June 2025, Tesla is offering standout 24-month lease deals on all three versions of the refreshed Model 3. Whether you're looking for maximum range, all-wheel-drive confidence, or brutal acceleration, there's an option that could fit your budget better than you'd expect from a luxury EV brand. The entry-level Long Range RWD model can now be leased for just $349 a month for 24 months, with only $349 due at signing (not including the acquisition fee). That's a remarkably low barrier to entry for a car that delivers over 360 miles of range and a 0–60 mph time under five seconds. Need all-weather traction or more speed? The Long Range AWD version leases for $549/month, and the top-tier Performance AWD trim, which rockets to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, leases for $849/month. Both require matching down payments of $549 and $849, respectively. Tesla is also offering 0.99% APR for 60 months to qualified buyers who apply the $7,500 federal EV tax credit at the point of sale. That effectively knocks thousands off the price up front, and makes financing nearly as appealing as leasing. The 2025 Model 3 lineup features Tesla's latest 'Highland' updates, which include a smoother ride, quieter cabin, and cleaner interior design. Despite its simplicity, the cabin feels modern and tech-forward. All trims come with heated and ventilated front seats, a large center touchscreen, built-in navigation, and Tesla's Autopilot driver assistance system. The cargo area expands with split-folding rear seats, offering up to 21 cubic feet of usable space. No matter which version you choose, the Model 3 is fast. The Long Range RWD hits 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, while the Performance AWD does it in a supercar-rivaling 2.8 seconds. Even with this kind of speed, the Model 3 delivers excellent range: up to 363 miles for the RWD model, 346 miles for the AWD version, and 296 miles for the Performance trim. On the road, the Model 3 feels planted and sharp, thanks to its low center of gravity and firm suspension. The Performance model also adds adaptive dampers and upgraded brakes, making it a serious driver's car. Tesla's June lease specials make it easier than ever to get into a Model 3, especially if you've been on the fence about EV ownership. Whether you're drawn to the RWD model for its range and value, or the AWD Performance for its raw acceleration, there's a deal here worth considering. With updated styling, better ride quality, and flexible pricing options, the 2025 Tesla Model 3 isn't just one of the best EVs on the road—it's one of the smartest leases this summer.
