Kangana Ranaut slams Opposition over ruckus in House, says money spent to run Parliament is being wasted

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and actor Kangana Ranaut on Monday slammed the Opposition parties over ruckus in the Lower House of the Parliament on the first day of the Monsoon session.
The BJP MP from Mandi claimed that the money spent to run the Parliament 'is being wasted.'
The Monsoon Session of the Lok Sabha witnessed a stormy start on Monday, July 21, with the session being adjourned 20 minutes after it began. There were slogans by Opposition MPs demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's response to US President Donald's repeated claims of brokering the ceasefire deal during the India-Pakistan's conflict in May.
'The Opposition is not maintaining the dignity of the House, and the money that is spent to run Parliament is being wasted,' Kangana Ranaut told reporters.
She added that in every session, the Opposition creates chaos because they don't want Parliament to function.
The Monsoon session of the Parliament began at 11 am with a tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and those killed in the Air India plane crash, but was soon interrupted by slogans of 'PM Modi jawab do' from the Opposition MPs.
Speaker Om Birla insisted that a debate over Operation Sindoor would take place after the Question Hour, but the protests continued.
'The government wants to answer every issue. The House should function. You have not come here to raise slogans. The House functions as per the rules and regulations. All the issues raised according to the rules will be discussed,' Birla told the protesting members.
However, with chaos ensuing further, Om Birla adjourned the session till noon. When the House reconvened at 12pm, continued protests forced another adjournment until 2 pm. The uproar showed no signs of easing, and the House was again adjourned till 4 pm, after which it resumed.
The opposition INDIA bloc demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi address the Parliament on Operation Sindoor and respond to US President Donald Trump's repeated claims that he brokered peace between India and Pakistan. The bloc also pressed for a discussion on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.

Starting August 1, India's most-used payment system, UPI, will undergo five major changes aimed at improving efficiency and reducing system overload. Users will now be limited to 50 balance checks and 25 linked account views per app per day. Recurring autopay transactions like EMIs and subscriptions will only be processed during off-peak hours, before 10 AM, between 1–5 PM, and after 9:30 PM. In case of failed transactions, users will get only three chances to check the payment status, with a mandatory 90-second gap between each attempt. Importantly, there is no GST on UPI payments, including those over ₹2,000, debunking ongoing misinformation. Lastly, every UPI transaction will now display the recipient's registered name before confirmation, helping to reduce fraud and accidental transfers. Rajnath urges international community to curb terror funding, labels Pakistan as ‘nursery of terrorism' in Rajya Sabha

Describing Pakistan as a 'nursery of terrorism, which must not be nourished', Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) called upon the international community to halt foreign funding to the country. Initiating a debate on Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Singh said that providing financial assistance to Pakistan amounted to supporting the infrastructure of terrorism. Also Read: Parliament Monsoon session Day 7 Highlights on July 29, 2025 Commenting on Pakistan's recent appointment as Vice-Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee by the United Nations Security Council, the Minister noted that the panel had been constituted following the September 11 attacks. 'It was well known that Pakistan had sheltered the mastermind of the attack,' he said, terming the decision akin to 'making the cat guard the milk'. He further stated that designated terrorists such as Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar move about freely in Pakistan, and that senior officers of the Pakistan Army are seen attending the funerals of terrorists. It is a mockery of the global fight against terrorism that Pakistan is expected to lead the global community against terrorism, he said. Mr. Singh reiterated that if Pakistan was unable to take effective steps to counter terrorism, it should seek India's assistance. 'Indian Armed Forces are capable of taking effective action against terrorism on either side of the border. Pakistan witnessed it during Operation Sindoor, but it is stubborn. Therefore, it is necessary for the world to put every kind of strategic, diplomatic and economic pressure on Pakistan to end terrorism,' he said. He asserted that the Government had adopted a new strategy aimed at strengthening national security while effectively dealing with terrorism. Describing Operation Sindoor as a reflection of India's military capability, national resolve, morality and political maturity, he said it had transformed a vulnerable citizen of a soft State into 'a proud citizen of a strong nation'. 'Under PM Modi's leadership, India no longer tolerates, it gives a befitting reply. It is not going to bow down to any kind of nuclear blackmailing or other pressures,' he said. The Minister also congratulated the Indian Army and other security forces for neutralising three TRF terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. He added that the Government had permitted emergency procurement to bolster the Armed Forces in preparation for any unforeseen contingencies.

'Tears for terrorists…': PM Modi hits out at Rahul Gandhi's Cong, 'they import issues from Pakistan'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Congress during his reply to the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, accusing the party of decades-long inaction against terrorism due to its 'appeasement politics' and vote-bank compulsions. The main opposition party is importing issues from Pakistan, and the Congress and its allies have become spokespersons of Pakistan's disinformation at a time when narratives play a big role in warfare and are used to demoralise the armed forces and people, the prime minister alleged.
