Steven Naismith returns to Scotland set-up as Steve Clarke's number two
Naismith – out of football since being sacked by Hearts last September – has now been summoned back to the Scotland fold to become assistant coach after John Carver left to become manager of Lechia Gdansk.
Clarke has also recruited Leicester set-piece coach Andrew Hughes to his backroom staff as a replacement for Austin MacPhee, who left the role last autumn.

Both coaches will be in place for Scotland's World Cup qualifiers away to Denmark and Belarus next month.
'I am delighted to have Steven and Andrew with us for the World Cup qualifying campaign,' Clarke told the Scottish Football Association. 'Steven has been with us before and brings a real complementary skill set to myself and (first-team coach) Alan Irvine.
'He has had opportunities to return to full-time club football, so it says a lot for his pride in the national team that he has agreed to join up with us again. I was really impressed by a number of potential candidates we'd spoken to when John left to continue at Lechia Gdansk but the fact we've worked together before makes for a seamless transition.

'I am also really pleased to have Andrew with us. He has coached in a variety of roles since retiring from playing but has excelled as set-piece coach at Norwich City and now Leicester City and I am grateful to Marti Cifuentes for allowing Andrew to work with us during the international windows.'
Naismith, who won 51 Scotland caps, has turned down other offers since leaving Hearts but is 'really excited' to be rejoining Clarke's staff.
'When I left Hearts, I made a point of not jumping straight back in at the first offer but to reflect on my coaching experiences and wait for something that really excited me,' the former Everton, Rangers and Norwich player said.

'When I first spoke to Steve about the possibility of coming back it was a no-brainer: I loved playing for my country, I've loved being part of the coaching team previously and I can't wait to help support the mission to take Scotland to a World Cup again.'
Former Reading, Norwich and Leeds player Hughes, 47, said: 'From the moment I got the call from Steve I have felt extremely honoured to be invited to work with the Scotland men's national team.
'My father is Scottish and as well as this being a proud moment for me and my family, it is a hugely exciting time as a coach to be part of a World Cup qualifying campaign, with such a talented squad, following back-to-back Euro qualifications. I can't wait to get started.'

Skye netted a free-kick during her side's 6-2 victory over St Johnstone on Sunday Kilmarnock posted on X: '37' | SKYE STOUT! 'Skye fires in a free-kick on the edge of the box!' She was also involved in her side's third goal, setting up team-mate Cara Gray. The thrilling game at Winton Park in Ardrossan finished 6-2 to Kilmarnock. Skye had played 62 minutes before being substituted to a warm reception. The trolling over her unveiling photos was first brought to light by football organisation Team Grassroots, who said the posts were deleted after a few hours. They said on X: 'Please send your love and support to 16-year-old Skye Stout from Scotland. And don't let the ignorant bullies win. 'Yesterday, the official page of the Scottish club Kilmarnock women's team announced the club had signed a contract with 16-year-old midfielder Skye Stout. 'A grassroots player signing her first pro contract should have been a moment to cherish for her; however, Skye was forced to endure ridicule from ignorant and disrespectful fans who began to humiliate her over her facial acne. 'Things escalated to the point where the club decided to delete all posts mentioning Skye Stout in an effort to stop the bullying from haters.' Underneath the post, a host of journalists and former players united behind Skye. Jamie Carragher wrote: 'Good luck Skye.' Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen added: 'BE THE BEST, Skye! Go get it!!!' 'Sending our support to Skye, good luck for the new season and an exciting first year in senior football,' Exeter City Women's official account posted. Former Scottish First Minister Hamza Yusef also voiced his support, dubbing the trolls 'sad' and 'pathetic'. He posted: 'Skye Stout has just signed for Kilmarnock. At 16 she has already achieved more than her trolls ever will. 'Imagine being a grown man abusing a 16-year-old? What a sad, pathetic, unhappy life these trolls have.'

Marc Guehi snubs Oliver Glasner to throw Crystal Palace future into more doubt
Liverpool target Marc Guéhi appeared to ignore a greeting from his Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner after the goalless draw at Chelsea. Guéhi seemingly snubbed Glasner's call for a handshake on the pitch as he instead walked head down towards the Stamford Bridge tunnel. Roy Keane said later that Glasner only had himself to blame, however. Keane said Guehi was within his rights to not want to talk to Glasner in full gaze of the fans and TV cameras. He said the incident underlines why managers should go back to a quick handshake with their counterpart before leaving the field. He added: 'Where does this all happen over the last year or two, where managers come on the pitch and shake hands with everybody, the opposition players? When you're playing... you've just had a tough match. He's [Guehi] physically exhausted. Gary Neville urges Manchester United to sign £40m star after Arsenal defeat
Gary Neville has named two goalkeepers Manchester United should try to sign before the transfer deadline after the club's opening-day defeat to Arsenal. A mistake from United back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir cost Ruben Amorim's side dearly at Old Trafford on Sunday as Arsenal clinched a narrow 1-0 win. Amorim was thought to have full faith in Onana but then dropped his No. 1 for the opening game of the season, perhaps hinting a move for a new goalkeeper was imminent. 'There's a glaring issue for Manchester United that can't be ignored and that is that they do need to find a goalkeeper,' Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast. 'They have to. 'I'm absolutely unequivocal on that. I had an experience at United for 20 years where we had big spells with [Peter] Schmeichel and [Edwin] van der Saw and in-between we had seven or eight other goalkeepers. 'It's really unsettling when you don't have a really dominant No. 1. You need someone to own their six-yard box, to make a lot of saves, to come and punch everything and save you points when your defenders make mistakes. 'That needs to be sorted either with a permanent signing or a loan. The two that you look at that have been mentioned in the last few weeks are Martinez and Donnarumma. 'The reason I say those two would be good for United is not necessarily because they're the two best goalkeepers in Europe, but they've got big personalities and characters. 'You've seen Donnarumma in a Euros final saving those penalties, he looked like a giant, and you've seen him play for PSG in huge games under pressure. More Trending 'We've seen Martinez play in World Cup finals. They've played under extreme pressure and they can handle it. Man United need that. 'I think they need to sort the goalkeeper out because they will keep conceding goals and points and it undermines what you're doing. 'I've said it for years, you need personality, character and stability in that position. I think United need to deal with it in the next couple of weeks.'
