Halle Bailey Gets Restraining Order Against Ex After Alleged Physical Abuse — Report

Yahoo15-05-2025

Halle Bailey reportedly requested a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, DDG, accusing him of physical abuse. The court has since granted the actor a temporary restraining order that protects her and her son, Halo, from the rapper. TMZ cited the official court documents, sharing details about Bailey's claims, alleging that the abuse began in January and other intense encounters in the following months. According to the court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the mom wrote in the filings that she 'cannot allow this abuse any longer.'
TMZ acquired official court documents on Halle Bailey's restraining order against her ex, DDG, with whom she shares a co-parenting relationship. In the filings, she detailed alleged encounters of physical abuse she claimed to have suffered at the hands of her former boyfriend. Bailey filed a request with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, which has since been granted. It orders DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., to remain 100 yards away from the mother-son duo at all times, including at her vehicle and their son's school.
The 'Little Mermaid' actor alleged instances dating back to January, when she claimed the abuse started. The former couple welcomed their baby boy in December 2023 and broke up last October, announcing their split on Instagram and maintaining a co-parenting relationship thereafter. As per Bailey's claims, DDG was frequently verbally and physically abusive toward her in front of 2-year-old Halo. She also mentioned an incident from March when the rapper entered her home without permission.
Additionally, Halle Bailey's filing for the restraining order included photo evidence to back her claims against DDG. These snaps showed bruises on her arms and a chipped tooth as a result of the latter's alleged assault. The documents further revealed that one such instance prompted her to file a police complaint after he destroyed her home's ring camera and tried to take their kid without her consent, despite the toddler being sick. Bailey had also submitted text messages, among other evidence, to verify her claims.

Season 7 of the hit Peacock series premieres tonight, June 3, and PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the first look at the Islanders' dramatic first night in the villa. The season will kick off with 10 total Islanders, five guys and five girls. Peacock announced the cast on May 29: Huda Mustafa, Olandria Carthen, Belle-A Walker, Yulissa Escobar and Chelley Bissainthe will be the first five girls in the Fiji villa, and are joined by Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Taylor Williams, Austin Shepard, Ace Green and Jeremiah Brown. In the first look teaser, the ladies are the first to arrive at the villa, and they pop a bottle of bubbly right away to get the good vibes going. Host Ariana Madix is next to arrive, and she asks if the girls are "ready to find your man," but Belle-A makes it clear she wants to "have a little fun too." Nicolas and Ace are the first boys to arrive, followed by cowboy Taylor, and then pool boy Austin and Jeremiah. "This can't be real life," Chelley says as the girls' excitement kicks in. Of course, there's a twist right off the bat. "This year, things are going to be a little bit different," Ariana teases. "Time to let your lips do the talking." Before coupling up, the Islanders get the chance to lock lips with any of the boys they've got their eye on, and some feelings are starting to form already. "I am not trying to be delusional," Olandria says. "But I am liking what I'm seeing so far." The kissing doesn't stop with night one, though. The following day, after five initial couples have been formed, Ariana returns to give the group a "chance to make a play for the person you maybe have a thing for, but haven't kissed yet." As one islander puts it, there's some "freak ass s--- going on" already in the Fiji villa. In the cast announcement released last week, all 10 Islanders shared more about themselves. Jeremiah described himself as an "emotional type of guy," as he admitted, "I really don't care if I cry in front of you." Ace called himself a "short king" who has "no problem talking to taller ladies," but will draw the line at being "little spoon." Pool boy Austin touted how "damn good" he looks "while cleaning a pool," and then came cowboy Taylor, who said he's looking for a "city girl" with a "big booty." Finally, daredevil Nicolas said he's "I'm down for anything" and "huge into extreme sports." As for the girls, Chelley admitted that she is going to judge her fellow Islanders based on their Zodiac signs, and Olandria said that "college football" is her "life." Belle-A was excited to share that she loves working in her family's coffee shop, and Huda declared herself ready to find her "lifelong partner." The final girl, Yulissa, revealed that she just got out of a "nine-year relationship," but she was "glad he broke my heart, because look at me here." Soap made with Sydney Sweeney's used bathwater exists and now we feel so dirty

OK, which focus group asked for soap made from Sydney Sweeney's dirty bathwater? Because y'all are in trouble. In announcing the limited-edition Sydney's Bathwater Bliss product Thursday, boutique soap company Dr. Squatch said on social media that it exists because 'y'all wouldn't stop asking' for Soap á la Sweeney after the actor did a viral ad for the company last October. 'And Sydney said, 'Let's do it.' ' So whoever 'y'all' is should have to stay up late writing apologies to the rest of us. In cursive. The soap is said to smell like Sweeney's childhood homeland, the Pacific Northwest, so anyone who has a warm and innocent association with that area's pine, Douglas fir and earthy moss essence is likely to have that completely ruined. Of course, if you associate those scents with the parfum de décolleté et de parties féminines— that's some kind of French for the 'scent of cleavage and lady parts' — this soap should make perfect sense. 'Nice humiliation ritual you've got going here,' X user @AzBeto1997 tweeted Friday about the soap, which the company swears includes bathwater that has actually touched Sweeney's naked body. 'Way to demean and diminish your customer base. If it were a joke it'd be funny.' 'Weird and gross. I've enjoyed the pine tar soap for several years now, but this is goodbye. Enjoy your bath water fetishist customers,' user @MarvinOMars wrote. 'I guarantee you most straight men find the Sydney Sweeney soap thing pretty gross,' @UnderstanderArt said. 'She's not appealing to all straight men with it, but a very particular group that I want nothing to do with.' Over on Instagram, comments about the limited run of 5,000 bars of soap, on sale next week, seemed more charitable. One poster said the Dr. Squatch marketing department and Sweeney 'need an award for this. Hilarious and awesome.' 'We're not going to heaven, but this is close enough,' another wrote. 'Never will I be in a greater state of absolute bliss than whilst I use this holy concoction, in the form of a bar of soap, to rub across my body,' wrote a third. Some comments invoked the infamous bathtub scene from 'Saltburn.' Many alluded to masturbation. A lot of them were seriously hilarious. All of them suggested in their own quiet ways that the fall of Western civilization was imminent. So buy the soap, don't buy the soap, we really don't care. Remember, this is the same company that insured Nick Cannon's testicles for $10 million. Irish Spring, here we come. ___ © 2025 Los Angeles Times. Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.
