The physical single will consist of four songs: two new songs as well as a Japanese-language version of 'Do the Dance,' the main track from its third EP 'bomb," and its first song in Japanese 'Almond Chocolate,' which was released in February.
'Almond Chocolate' amassed 50 million streams on Oricon as of last week and set a record for a song from an international artist this year. Third EP 'bomb' ranked No. 2 on Oricon's Daily and Weekly Album Rankings.
Meanwhile, the fivesome is slated to host fan concert 'Glitter Day' in Japan, two days each in Yokohama in August and in Osaka in September. Tickets for all four live events sold out.

CGTN: Why Chinese film Dead to Rights topped global weekend box office
BEIJING, Aug. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Chinese film Dead to Rights has been maintaining its top position on China's weekend box office since its premiere on July 25th. That also made it the No. 1 watched film globally over the just past weekend. According to popular Chinese film industry tracker Maoyan, by Tuesday the film has raked in 1.7 billion Yuan, or about 236.6 million dollars. The film now holds an 8.6 rating on Chinese review platform Douban and has been reviewed or reported by international press like "Variety", Channel News Asia, among others. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre and follows the life of a group of Chinese civilians who seek refuge in a photography studio. While bidding for survival, they assisted a Japanese military photographer to develop films, only to uncover graphic images of the atrocities. They risked their lives to preserve the evidence. The film's massive success should, of course, be first attributed to its powerful storytelling and artistic execution. Director Shen Ao has avoided sensationalism, using only minimalistic visuals to convey horror, for example, a knife held to a baby or rivers of bloodshed. In this way, emotional depth and authenticity have been created. The film's layered storytelling and polished production design also present viewers with unraveled technical craftsmanship. Movie goers are drawn to the cinema for Dead to Rights also because, fundamentally, the movie has done justice to history. Evan Kail, an American who donated a photo album of Japanese war crimes to China, said the film is a "ten out of ten" that keeps history alive, honors the victims and exposes the past against all odds. Remembering the past is not to stir or preserve hatred; rather, it is to remind us to cherish modern peace. Increasing Yasukuni Shrine visits and wartime denial by some Japanese rightists these days are risking Asia's or even the world's stability. By preserving evidence on screen, films like Dead to Rights counter Japan's historical amnesia and expose the truth that must be held and told. The movie is slated to premiere globally in places like Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Malaysia, Singapore, among others. With over 35 million military and civilian casualties combined, China was a vital, but often forgotten, member of the Allies battling Japan during WWII. As both a universal call to peace and a truthful reflection on history, the film Dead to Rights deserves the time and attention of global viewers.

Agency RBW Entertainment announced Monday that after four years together, the six members will go their separate ways in November. Purple Kiss debuted in 2021 as a group of seven, but Park Jieun left in 2022. Its latest effort is the second single 'I Miss My …' dropped last month. As per the agency's statement, the group of six will release an English-language album later this month and will tour the US before also holding a concert in Korea.

Hybe, Geffen Records launch second global girl group project following Katseye
Global audition began Thursday in Japan for next multinational act Hybe is once again partnering with Geffen Records, a label under Universal Music Group, to launch a new global girl group next year, the company announced Wednesday. This marks the second multinational group to debut under the ongoing collaboration between the two companies. The new project, titled 'World Scout: The Final Piece,' will begin with a large-scale audition tour across Japan. It aims to discover outstanding global talent and form a next-generation girl group for the international music market. According to Hybe and Geffen Records, top scouting teams from Hybe will take the lead in identifying promising trainees with high potential. Those who pass the audition will undergo specialized 'K-pop-style training,' adapted for the US market, from October to December. Selected trainees will then move on to an advanced training camp in the US, where they will compete for a spot in the final debut lineup. The debut is slated for 2026. The entire journey — from auditions to the group's formation — will be exclusively broadcast in the spring of 2026 via Japanese streaming platform ABEMA. 'The program will capture how talented individuals grow while working alongside world-class producers,' Hybe and Geffen Records said in a statement. The move marks the latest phase in Hybe's strategy to globalize K-pop by expanding its production model beyond South Korea. In 2023, the two companies launched the audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' which led to the formation of the multinational girl group Katseye. That project drew wide interest from global viewers, who watched contestants from diverse ethnic and regional backgrounds train and compete under Hybe's K-pop production system — a blueprint previously centered in Korea, but now adapted for the US market. The show became a milestone in exporting the K-pop "DNA" to the global pop mainstream.
