The Wicker Man BBC Four, 9.05pm
Classic horror movie focusing on a devout police sergeant who's sent to a remote island to search for a missing girl. Yet more South East Asian zombie fodder. For something less brutal and more bloom-fuelled, other foreign language fare includes French offering Under a Dark Sun. Alternatively, there's Gringo Hunters from Mexico.
Trainwreck: The Real Project X Netflix, streaming now
It's the weekly episodic that keeps on giving. This time, the good people at Trainwreck recount the fallout from a Facebook event posted by a Dutch teen. In 2012, she posted an invite for her 16th birthday, which accidentally went viral, drawing thousands to the small town of Haren. Inspired by Project X, the unplanned crowd overwhelms the area, and with no preparations in place, things spiral into chaos.
Quarterback Netflix, streaming now
Season 2 of the hit series offers rare access to three NFL quarterbacks — Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and returning favourite Kirk Cousins — as they navigate the highs and lows of the 2024/25 season, on and off the field.
All The Sharks Netflix, streaming now
If you're wondering, 'Why all the shark-related viewing of late?' Well, the simple answer is that we're currently in the run-up to July 14, which is Shark Awareness Day. This summer also happens to be the 50th anniversary of Jaws, so one should expect an inordinate level of shark-themed programming over the coming weeks. A lot of it, however, does seem somewhat at odds with itself. For instance, last week saw the release of Shark Whisperer, which featured a herd of conservationists expressing concern about people, like Instagrammer Ocean Ramsey, interfering with endangered sharks. Now, Netflix is proffering an almost oxymoronic competition show, where conservationists infiltrate the oceans to tick all the sharks off their assigned apex predator bingo cards. If you favour more traditional shark viewing — ie. without a nigh-dystopic gameshow element — Sharks Up Close With Bertie Gregory has landed on Disney+.
Heads of State Prime Video, streaming now
Have you ever considered a parallel universe where Idris Elba is the UK prime minister and John Cena is the US president? Well, now's your chance! For context, their 'special relationship' is under threat on account of their huge egos, but — once confronted with a common adversary — the pair must learn to rely on each other.

Wednesday cast reveal how the Irish landscape made the Addams family 'look alive'
The Netflix hit series Wednesday swapped the hills of Romania for the greenery of Ireland for season two, and it turns out, that led to some unexpected issues. Steve Buscemi, Jenna Ortega, Joanna Lumley and producer Tim Burton were discussing what it was like to film in the Emerald Isle during a recent press conference, with the Wednesday actress sharing that something kept making the Addams family 'look alive'. A question submitted by Geek Ireland was asked during the panel, querying what was the thing that surprised them all the most about Ireland while they were here. Joonas Suotamo as Lurch, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Isaac Ordonez aș Pugsley Addams, Thing and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams. Pic: Helen Sloan/Netflix Jenna shared: 'Everything about Ireland was so beautiful, and we had such a hard-working crew, and people who really just gave it their all, and were so skilled. 'But the only real challenge we had was fighting the green. It was so green there, and it was so bright for the show. Suddenly the Addams looked alive.' While everyone laughed, Tim added: 'Take it down a notch!' Jenna Ortega in Wednesday. Pic: Jonathan Hession/Netflix Steve also joked: 'I was surprised at how much Guinness I could actually drink every day, never while shooting. But yeah, it's… It was so lovely shooting there. The people are amazing.' Joanna was also thrilled to be working on Wednesday in Ashford Studios, having been to Ireland for work many times, she had only really been in Ardmore Studios and was thrilled to discover another area that had been previously used by Vikings. She explained: 'I was pretty thrilled, because having filmed there a few times, in the Ardmore studios, I didn't know there was a studio even further south of that. 'And just to come to Ashford Studios, which were, I think, used for about 10 years in a series called The Vikings, if I'm right, leaving behind bits and pieces on the hillside, which is actually very good, because any artist knows that debris is better than being a white sheet. 'It's much better to work on printed or messed paper or an old used napkin than on a terrible white paper. So, suddenly they've got this derelict stuff of bits of old rampant and hills and the challenges of a new studio. 'It must have been heavenly but hard to work in Romania. And I just think that Ireland, it has a natural feeling, because there's something in Ireland which is slightly otherworldly anyway, and it's it embraced… it embraced the whole feeling of Wednesday.' The old Vikings Valhalla sets came in handy as they were even redressed and used as part of Pilgrim World (according to Ortega), with Tim confirming: 'We had the whole studio to ourselves, which was amazing, and we ended up pilfering some of those sets.'
