Pilgrims depart Makkah for Madinah after completing Hajj rituals
MADINAH — Several pilgrims began heading to Madinah from Makkah by land via the Hijra Expressway or the Haramain High Speed Railway to visit the Prophet's Mosque and pray in it.
Coinciding with the start of the pilgrims' arrival, the Hajj authorities in Madinah have begun implementing their operational plans for the second season, which will see thousands of pilgrims arriving over the coming days.
These plans include enhancing service, health, security, and organizational efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims during their stay. Government and volunteer sectors have increased their readiness, supporting reception centers, ports, and historical sites, in addition to intensifying transportation, guidance, hospitality, and healthcare services within an integrated system operating around the clock.
The relevant authorities involved in Hajj operations are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for pilgrims, reflecting the level of care the Saudi government provides to the Guests of God during their religious journey to Madinah after performing the Hajj rituals.

Pakistan to continue receiving Hajj applications for remaining 3,500 official scheme seats
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will continue receiving Hajj applications for the remaining 3,500 seats under the government scheme, the religious affairs ministry said on Monday, hours after the expiry of a deadline. The country announced earlier this month it has been allocated a quota of 179,210 pilgrims, of which around 118,000 seats have been allocated under the government scheme and the rest to private tour operators. The religious affairs ministry said it has received 114,500 applications under the government scheme since Aug. 4 and will continue to accept applications for the remaining 3,500 seats. 'Aspiring applicants should submit their Hajj applications to the nearest bank as soon as possible,' the ministry said on Monday night. 'The receiving of applications will be stopped as soon as the remaining 3,500 seats are filled.' The South Asian country, which extended the deadline for receiving Hajj applications under the government scheme on Saturday, has designated 14 banks to receive Hajj applications. Intending pilgrims can also apply through the online Hajj portal of the ministry. Under the government scheme, pilgrims can choose between a long package (38-42 days) and a short package (20-25 days), with costs ranging between Rs1,150,000 and Rs1,250,000 ($4,050–4,236). Applicants are required to deposit a first installment of Rs500,000 [$1764] or Rs550,000 [$1941] depending on the package, while the remaining dues will be collected in November. Saudi Arabia had approved the same quota for Pakistan in 2025, though private tour operators last year struggled to utilize their share, saying they faced technical and financial delays, even as the government filled its quota of over 88,000 pilgrims.

Agreement signed to establish and operate passenger train station in Zulfi
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Deputy Emir of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Railways Company (SAR) Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish and operate a passenger train station in the Zulfi governorate. The agreement was signed between the Saudi Railways Company and the Cooperative Society for Logistics Services in the Riyadh Region in a ceremony held at the deputy emir's office in Al-Qasr Al-Hakam in Riyadh on Monday. Governor of Zulfi Saleh Al-Rafie, CEO of the Saudi Railways Company Dr. Bashar Al-Malik, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Society for Logistics Services in the region Mohammed Al-Qashami also attended the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the deputy emir praised the qualitative development leaps witnessed by the Riyadh region within a short span of time. "At present, Riyadh has become the capital of political decision-making, a global economic center, and a tourism capital, hosting major events such as the 2027 Asian Cup, Expo 2030, and the 2034 World Cup," he said. The railway station project is one of the pioneering projects in which the non-profit sector contributes to achieving development. This agreement will add a new passenger station in the Zulfi governorate, making it the seventh station on the Northern Railway network, which departs from Riyadh towards Al-Qurayyat, passing through Al-Majma'a, Al-Qassim, Hail, and Al-Jouf. This will enhance railway transportation services and provide advanced and effective solutions for the mobility of the people in the governorate.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's deadline for receiving Hajj 2026 applications under the government scheme is set to expire today, Monday, state-run media reported as authorities says over 110,000 applications have been received during the last 12 days. Pakistan extended the deadline for receiving Hajj applications under the government scheme on Saturday. The country announced earlier this month it has been allocated a quota of 179,210 pilgrims, of which 129,210 seats have been allocated under the government scheme and the rest to private tour operators. Pakistan's religious affairs ministry said on Saturday that designated banks will keep receiving Hajj applications on Monday, adding that only 7,000 seats under the government scheme were available. 'Today is the last date for submission of applications under government Hajj scheme,' state broadcaster Radio Pakistan said in a report. 'The process of receiving Hajj applications will be stopped once seats are filled.' Only designated banks would receive the applications, the ministry had clarified last week, adding that its online portal would stop accepting applications at midnight on Aug. 16. Pakistan began receiving applications on Aug. 4, advising applicants to obtain computerized receipts and verify their details through the ministry's portal or the Pak Hajj 2026 app. Under the government scheme, pilgrims can choose between a long package (38-42 days) and a short package (20-25 days), with costs ranging between Rs1,150,000 and Rs1,250,000 ($4,050–4,236).
