Edmonton police closed a westbound portion of Yellowhead Trail for several hours on Aug. 12, 2025 due to a serious collision. A news release from police sent shortly after 6 p.m. said Yellowhead Trail westbound between 50 Street and 66 Street would be closed for several hours. YELLOWHEADCRASH A major crash caused Edmonton police's major collision unit to close a portion of Yellowhead Trail on Aug. 12, 2025. (CTV News Edmonton/Brandon Lynch) Motorists were asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Eastbound lanes are still open. Northwestern Ont. drug bust yields fake firearms, cash, charges
Police in northwestern Ontario seized suspected drugs, fake guns and cash in a raid last month on Fort William First Nation. A 25-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman face multiple charges as a result of the bust.
