Edmonton police closed a westbound portion of Yellowhead Trail for several hours on Aug. 12, 2025 due to a serious collision. (CTV News Edmonton/Brandon Lynch) Edmonton police are investigating a crash that closed a portion of Yellowhead Trail for several hours Tuesday evening. A news release from police sent shortly after 6 p.m. said Yellowhead Trail westbound between 50 Street and 66 Street would be closed for several hours. YELLOWHEADCRASH A major crash caused Edmonton police's major collision unit to close a portion of Yellowhead Trail on Aug. 12, 2025. (CTV News Edmonton/Brandon Lynch) Motorists were asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Eastbound lanes are still open.
