Newsboy's tips from Friday's five meetings including six races live on ITV
Newsboy is backing Sweet William to win the featured Group 2 Yorkshire Cup at York and he expects Consecrated to deliver in the Listed Sky Bet Fillies' Stakes, both on ITV
SWEET WILLIAM gets the vote over favourite Rebel's Romance in the Group 2 Boodles Yorkshire Cup (3.45) at York on Friday. The John and Thady Gosden-trained six-year-old proved better than ever in 2024 with a win at this level in the Doncaster Cup in September.
Sweet William can look ungainly under pressure but has made the frame in every one of his 15 career starts and the step back to a mile and three-quarters should not inconvenience Rab Havlin's partner.
Karl Burke is fancied to saddle a double before the ITV cameras, completed by THUNDER RUN in the Knights Solicitors Handicap (2.42).The preceding Listed Clipper EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes (2.10) is a good opportunity for stablemate LOVE OLIVIA to add to an impressive debut victory at Wolverhampton in the Listed Clipper EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes (2.10).Also seeking to defend an unbeaten record at Listed level is CONSECRATED, who is taken to add to a first-time-up score at Newbury in the Sky Bet Fillies' Stakes (3.13).
He missed out by a short head at Doncaster on his return, but ACRISIUS has strong claims of going one better in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Handicap (4.15).At Newbury, SOVEREIGN SEA should appreciate the chance to tackle a mile and a quarter when he engages with 14 opponents for the Titan Wealth Handicap (2.25). New Love Island star exits ITV show after bosses learn of past arrest
One Love Island star has left the ITV villa after bosses learned of his past arrest. The star, who was released with no further action, said he 'fully cooperated with the police investigation' A new Love Island star was recently removed from the line-up of the upcoming series after bosses learned of his past arrest. Kyle Ashman, who was due to take part in the dating series airing this month, is no longer entering the Spanish villa following news of his recent arrest coming to light. Earlier this year, the 23-year-old water operative was arrested and quizzed by police with another person over an attack in Stafford, which Kyle said he had no involvement in a recent statement. After being quizzed by police, he was released with no further action. Speaking on his exit, Kyle said: "I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation." ITV also released a statement on his departure saying: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned. Staffordshire Police had previously said: 'We were called to a social club on Riverway, Stafford, at 7.40pm on Friday, February 28 following reports that someone had been glassed outside and a fight was taking place. Some of the men involved were wearing masks and were carrying weapons. 'Two men went to hospital after suffering injuries at the scene. Both have since been discharged. A man and a woman suffered minor injuries at the scene but did not want any medical treatment. 'Officers have reviewed CCTV footage and have been actively carrying out enquiries to find out more about what happened. A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. 'Both were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.' The police later confirmed both suspects were released with no further action last month. Meanwhile, when Kyle was meant to enter the villa, he shared his expectations from the show and shared how he flirted with women. He said: "I just go with it, find something to compliment a girl on and go from there." The star went on to say he was looking for "someone that's fun, confident and just themselves".

Love Island star's SHOCK EXIT as they leave the villa ahead of upcoming series after citing 'personal reasons'
Love Island star Kyle Ashman has left the show ahead of the launch episode next Monday. ITV have confirmed the 23-year-old from Stafford has chosen not to enter the villa and has decided to leave the show for personal reasons. It comes amid The Sun's reports that Kyle was involved in an machete attack in February when masked thugs stormed a wake and hacked at a dad with a blade. Kyle was one of two arrested by police but he was released with no further action and he has now confirmed he had no involvement in the incident, but has chosen to leave the ITV show regardless. Kyle told MailOnline: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Meanwhile ITV added: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.' The Love Island line up was announced on Tuesday so Kyle's departure will have plunged the show into chaos ahead of Monday's launch episode. The Sun have revealed they alerted bosses on Kyle being questioned in the attack but ITV said they were unaware of the incident and he was not flagged during the contestant checks. The incident on February 28 saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept it for around two weeks. Another mourner was reportedly glassed, one hit with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car during the 15 minute attack at the The White Eagle Club in Stafford. Sources said the victim was attacked by three balaclava-clad thugs over an alleged £3,000 debt. He was injured by a blade that left him with a deep gash and has suffered tendon damage and is now unable to drive. Police confirmed yesterday that after the matter had been investigated Kyle and another individual were released with no further action only last month. The incident on February 28 at The White Eagle Club in Stafford saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment A show source told the publication: 'ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle's past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island's stringent DBS checks. 'It's only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.' Staffordshire Police said on Monday: 'A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. 'Both were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.' Kyle, who works as a water operative, doesn't have a strong social media presence with just one Insta pic on his profile. Prior to his announced departure, Kyle said he was looking for 'someone that's fun, confident and just themselves'.

Love Island Sophie Lee's TV star ex ‘gutted and blindsided' she's signed up for show as they have ‘unfinished business'
LOVE Island beauty Sophie Lee's TV star ex has been left devastated after she was revealed in the villa line-up. The 29-year-old motivational speaker will soon make a splash in Majorca and it's all proving tough to take for Ouzy See, who took part in series 10 of the show. 4 Sophie Lee's casting on Love Island has taken her ex by surprise Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 4 Ouzy See believes they still have 'unfinished business' Credit: ITV A friend of the semi-pro footballer told us: 'Ouzy was really shocked and blindsided to see Sophie had signed up for Love Island. "He was gutted because he feels like there is still unfinished business between the two of them. "While they aren't dating anymore, he thinks she's an amazing girl and they ended on good terms. "It's weird for anyone though knowing your ex is about to go on Love Island and could fall for someone else on TV.' Ouzy, 30, was totally smitten with Sophie back in 2023 at the start of their fledgling romance. He accompanied her to the Beauty Awards where she won Beauty Influencer of the Year. Ouzy told us on the red carpet: "It's going really well," prompting Sophie to chime in: "He's really kind, that's my favourite thing about him." The former villa hunk then gushed: "She's inspirational. We've been dating for a few months." When asked if they were in love, they giggled and replied: "We'll see." Sophie overcame a near-death experience in her early 20s. Ten Years of Love Island The dancer, from Manchester, was performing with flaming props when the freak accident on stage in Chicago left her fighting for her life. The air-con in the venue was too powerful and blasted a fireball back at her, causing her face and chest to 'go up in flames'. Sophie told Fabulous Digital: 'The air-con was too strong so when I blew the fire out it blew back to me. It set me on fire. I just remember being in so much pain, I blacked out for a little bit. It's crazy. 'It happened in front of everyone and I had to get on with it as professionally and quickly as I could. As soon as I got into the ambulance, I was in bits." Sophie spent a month in intensive care in America by herself, while receiving treatment for the burns. 4 The former couple at the 2023 Beauty Awards Credit: Instagram 4 Sophie is a dancer from Manchester Credit: instagram/sophirelee
