We are indebted to them for standing firm in the face of great danger — a debt we can never fully repay. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of these fallen heroes. Your loss is profound, and we stand with you in your grief. The bravery and service of your loved ones will forever remain in our hearts. Their legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
I also pay heartfelt tribute to all the police personnel in Sindh who continue to face challenges with resilience in the line of duty. Your dedication and hard work in maintaining law and order are truly commendable. Despite daily challenges and risks, you continue to serve with honor and integrity. Your unwavering commitment to duty is a source of pride for our province and its people.
Let us reaffirm our commitment on this Shuhada' Day to support our police force. It is our collective responsibility to ensure they are equipped with the necessary resources, training, and support to perform their duties effectively. Together, we can work toward a safer and more just society.
Let us stand in solidarity with their families and uphold the values for which they laid down their lives. May their sacrifices never go in vain, and may we strive for a future where such sacrifices are no longer needed.
May Allah grant eternal peace to our Shuhada and give patience to their families. Let us remember them with pride and gratitude.

Maryam pays tributes to Kashmiris on ‘Kashmir Exploitation Day'
LAHORE: 'I salute sacrifices of brave brothers and sisters of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir,' said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on 'Kashmir Exploitation Day,' while paying tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their struggle for right to self-determination. She added, 'Freedom of occupied Jammu & Kashmir has been inscribed on the tablet of destiny. Despite relentless increase in Indian atrocities since 5th August 2019, the courage of Kashmiris is commendable.' She said, 'We stand together, are and will continue to stand together. Issue of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir is a question of global conscience.' She underscored, 'Indifference and criminal silence of international community on Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu & Kashmir is a dark chapter in human history.' The CM said, 'Sun of freedom will rise soon for Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Solution to Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in the subcontinent. Sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiri martyrs will not go in vain.' The Chief Minister said, 'India is trying unsuccessfully to suppress right of self-determination of Kashmiris through oppression. Kashmir is beating in the heart of every Pakistani.' She regretted, 'Due to India's oppression, Kashmiris have been living under lockdown for a decade now. Constant indifference to inhuman atrocities against Kashmiris is a charge sheet against world's conscience.' Maryam Nawaz Sharif vowed, 'India's oppression is temporary, but Kashmir's freedom is destined. Violation of human rights in occupied Kashmir is unacceptable. Pakistan, Finland agree to promote trade, cooperation
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan–Finland Parliamentary Friendship Group convened consultative session on Tuesday to promote bilateral trade and cooperation. The meeting was held under the convenership of Dr Sharmila Faruqui, with the objective of deepening bilateral engagement through trade facilitation, institutional collaboration, and enhanced parliamentary cooperation. The session was attended by Hannu Ripatti, Ambassador of Finland to Pakistan; Bilal Haye, Ambassador of Pakistan to Sweden (who joined virtually); senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce; as well as representatives of the Pakistan–Finland Business Council. Distinguished Members of the National Assembly, including Shaista Pervaiz, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, Dr Mahesh Kumar Malani, and Farah Naz Akbar, actively participated in the proceedings. From the Pakistan–Finland Business Council, Shahzad Sabir, Chairman, and Pervez Haroon, Vice Chairman, were in attendance. Convener of the Pakistan–Finland PFG underscored the group's potential to serve as a vital platform for enhancing people-to-people exchanges and acting as a bridge to address the challenges faced by the business communities of both countries. Deliberations focused on; addressing challenges in trade and export facilitation, promoting collaboration in priority sectors such as mining, SME partnerships, and education, exploring avenues to enhance bilateral trade, investment opportunities, and business sector participation. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce reaffirmed their commitment to advancing sector-specific proposals through coordinated institutional support. Ambassador Ripatti suggested the submission of concrete proposals and recommendations to address existing challenges and reiterated Finland's interest in fostering long-term commercial and parliamentary cooperation with Pakistan. The meeting also considered the prospect of a high-level parliamentary exchange in the near future. Participants agreed to sustain momentum through follow-up engagements in both virtual and in-person formats. The session concluded with a shared resolve to translate mutual goodwill and growing interest into structured collaboration, supported by proactive coordination among parliamentary, diplomatic, and business stakeholders. Cities across Punjab ‘decorated like bride' on CM's orders
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif noted, 'Process of decorating various cities including Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Gujrat, Layyah, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Attock for 79th Independence Day, titled 'Achievement of Independence from Protection of Independence' is under way with national zeal and zest. 08 days are left in these celebrations, cities across Punjab have been decorated like a bride. In Rawalpindi, Murree, Saddar, Satellite Town, Faizabad, Commercial Market, Chandni Chowk, Committee Chowk, Raja Bazar, Fawara Chowk, Mall Road and Charing Cross are decorated with green crescent flags. National flags are also hoisted on other highways including Gowalmandi, Moti Bazar, Liaquat Road, Chaklala, Sixth Road and Seventh Road. National flags, banners and decorative flags are displayed on both sides of the Murree Road.' Madam Chief Minister was briefed, 'In connection with the Independence Day, hoardings and large screens have also been installed on various highways and squares. Children are particularly interested in flux of national flags on the highways of cities.' She was also apprised, 'Process of hoisting national flag on houses, and putting flags and stickers on vehicles is also ongoing. Youth and ordinary citizens are also decorating motorcycles with national flags.' Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was apprised further, 'Government and private buildings are also illuminated, and intersections are decorated with electric lights.' She was briefed, 'Hospitals, old-age homes and other buildings are beautifully illuminated. Screens, hoardings and national flags have been installed on highways connecting major cities.' She was updated, 'Administration and civic organizations are also active across Punjab in connection with the Independence Day.' Madam Chief Minister noted, 'Various colourful events are also underway in schools, colleges and universities in connection with the Independence Day.' She said, 'This is not just a celebration of independence, but also an opportunity to renew an ideology.'
