Villarreal sign Thomas Partey and condemn ‘violence in all its forms'
The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022, when he was an Arsenal player. Partey was not asked to enter any pleas and was granted conditional bail.

Villarreal announced on Thursday afternoon that they had reached an agreement with the former Atletico Madrid, Real Mallorca and Almeria player, who will join his team-mates at the training ground on Friday, but did not specify the length of contract he has signed.
However, in a statement published on their official X account, they said: 'The club is also aware that the player is currently involved in legal proceeding in England. The player firmly maintains his innocence and denies all charges against him.
'The club respects the fundamental principle of the presumption of innocence and will await the outcome of the judicial process, which will be responsible for clarifying the facts of the case. Due to the law in England in relation to ongoing proceedings the club is unable to comment further.
'Villarreal CF wishes to clearly reiterate its strong commitment to respect and diversity and firmly condemns any act of violence in all its forms, including gender-based violence, discrimination, racism, xenophobia, or any behaviour that undermines the dignity of individuals.'

Partey, who was charged four days after his contract at Arsenal expired at the end of June, is due to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2.
One of the conditions of his bail is that he must notify police of any permanent changes of address or international travel.
Partey joined Arsenal in October 2020 in a £45.3million switch from Atletico and made 120 Premier League appearances for the club.
The Villarreal statement said: 'Thomas Teye Partey is a complete midfielder with great stamina and exceptional physical attributes. He is an excellent ball-winner and has the ability to start moves from deep.
'The African footballer also boasts a good shot from mid-range and has the ability to break lines when driving forward.'

Arsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta faces £68m deal deadline as Gunners boss takes new role
Mikel Arteta has strengthened his Arsenal squad over the summer but last season's Premier League runners-up could have a bit more business to come between now and September 1 Arsenal have been one of the busiest Premier League teams this summer but their spending might not be over just yet. The Gunners have an A to Z of new signings - Arrizabalaga to Zubimendi, to be precise - but there will still be two weeks of the window to go after they begin their Premier League campaign against Manchester United on Sunday. The goal is to sign a player capable ot creating from deep and playing off the left of the front three in certain circumstances. More specifically, the goal is Ebere Eze, but things might not be straightforward. Manager Mikel Arteta indicated the spending isn't over if the right opportunity arrives. However, in order to meet Crystal Palace's asking price for Eze, they might need to raise funds through sales. Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos have both left, while Thomas Partey's release has freed up significant wage budget. Fabio Vieira, Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior could yet follow. There are two deadlines in place for Arsenal, though - not just September 1, when the window shuts. Here are Mirror Football 's latest lines from North London. Eze release clause deadline Arsenal only have until Friday to meet Ebere Eze's release clause at Crystal Palace. A bid of £68m would be enough to land the England star now, though Palace may yet accept a similar amount after the deadline. Stuttgart want Vieira, with a fee of around £16m mooted, while Trossard has previously attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League. "As a player, if it's a World Cup year, I'm thinking, 'I'm going to play consistently for Palace this year, so if I'm Eze, for instance, my thought process: obviously Arsenal is a different kind of pressure." He suggested Eze would have different responsibilities if he moves, adding: "The good thing thing about Eze's situation is that he can play every week and he has that maverick style that he accepts making and taking those risks. I think he's a player that can take those risks at Palace. I don't think he will get that at Arsenal."

Man accused of driving into Liverpool parade crowds to appear in court
A man accused of driving into crowds at Liverpool's Premier League victory parade is due to appear in court. Paul Doyle, 53, was charged with seven offences after the incident on Water Street in the city centre just after 6pm on Monday, May 26. Merseyside Police said 134 people were injured when Doyle allegedly drove his Ford Galaxy Titanium into crowds who were leaving the waterfront after the parade. Doyle, of Croxteth, Liverpool, will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday for a plea and trial preparation hearing. He is accused of two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of dangerous driving. A wounding charge and an attempted grievous bodily harm charge relate to children, aged 11 and 17. Earlier this year, a provisional trial date was fixed for November 24, and the case is expected to last three to four weeks.
