Kiss' Gene Simmons Crashes Local L.A. Weather Report, Says Weather Is Perfect ‘To Rock and Roll All Night'

Yahoo14-03-2025

A Los Angeles news station got a dose of star power when Gene Simmons crashed a local weather report. On Thursday, the legendary Kiss vocalist and bassist made an unexpected appearance on Fox 11 Los Angeles, joining meteorologist Adam Kruger to help deliver the week's forecast.
'You look much better in real life than you do on TV,' Simmons quipped to Krueger. When Krueger assured Simmons he looks good in both, Simmons (decked out in sunglasses and leather pants) joked: 'I know that.'

The 'God of Thunder' singer reported on citywide showers, but he and Krueger assured viewers that sunny skies were ahead, even sneaking in a few Kiss lyrics. 'This weekend it's looking pretty good if people want to rock and roll all night,' Krueger said, a nod to the 1975 track 'Rock and Roll All Nite.'
Simmons continued the bit, finishing the lyric and advising that viewers 'should probably party every day.'
'The weatherman approached me and asked me if I wanted to jump on and do the weather,' Simmons told Entertainment Weekly about appearing in the segment. 'Of course! But I told him, 'Hold onto your britches. I'm not your usual weatherman. Weather advisory is in order.''
The impromptu weather report isn't the first time Simmons has appeared on local Los Angeles news: the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has previously helped Los Angeles' KTLA 5 deliver a weather forecast, during which he encouraged viewers to 'Kiss somebody. The mailman, your beautiful wife — kiss the dog, kiss life.'

'Wicked: For Good' trailer gives us 1st look at Dorothy and the hunt for the Wicked Witch: Watch it here

Grab your broomstick and your bestie: Wicked returned to select theaters on Wednesday — and it brought the Wicked: For Good trailer along with it. The first part of the Broadway musical adaptation hit theaters on Nov. 22, 2024, to critical and commercial acclaim. The final half of the two-part film is slated to arrive in theaters almost exactly one year later, on Nov. 21, 2025. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer, which premiered at special one-night screenings in North American theaters on Wednesday night, features Cynthia Erivo as 'Wicked Witch' Elphaba and Ariana Grande as the supposedly 'good' witch Glinda reprising their roles and singing "For Good" as they return to Oz. The trailer also gives fans a first look at Dorothy and the yellow brick road. Wicked: For Good picks up after Elphaba defied gravity on her broomstick and narrowly escaped the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) in order to save the animals subjugated by their tyrannical rule. Meanwhile, Elphaba's best friend, Glinda — afraid to give up her social status — chose to stay behind rather than join in on her mission. A new poster for the film shows the new looks for the characters in Wicked: For Good. Glinda is sporting a blue dress, while Elphaba is wearing an all-black ensemble — and the hat Glinda gifted her. Wicked: For Good places Glinda and Elphaba on opposite sides of major drama in Oz, with Glinda — who is still dating prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) — acting as the Wizard's spokesperson. Meanwhile, the Wizard's henchmen are seeking to find and kill Elphaba, who all of Oz now considers 'wicked' thanks to good old-fashioned propaganda. How will this story end? Well, if you saw The Wizard of Oz, you probably think you know — with Dorothy and company dousing poor Elphie with water and killing her. Yet Wicked: For Good may surprise you — at least, if you haven't seen the musical.

Nick Jonas to Play Paul Stanley in KISS Biopic SHOUT IT OUT LOUD From Director McG — GeekTyrant

Actor and musician Nick Jonas ( Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle , Midway ) has signed on to play KISS front man Paul Stanley in the upcoming music-based biopic, Shout It Out Loud . McG ( Charlie's Angels , Terminator Salvation ) has been hired to direct the film, from the most recent draft by Darren Lemke. The story will follow the formation of the venerable hard rock band in the 1970s. The film will go into production at the end of the year or in early 2026. It's being reported that Jonas will do his own singing, and he'll need time to train to replicate the jet-engine vocals of Stanley. McG is zeroing in on a star to play Gene Simmons, the fire-breathing, blood-dripping, growly voiced bass player who formed the band with Stanley. The pair teamed with lead guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss, and then made themselves stand out by playing in face makeup with each adopting different personalities. Their enduring success was fueled by a steady array of power rock anthems including 'Rock and Roll All Nite.' They beat the odds to become one of the most commercially successful bands in rock history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. via: Deadline

At YouTube Brandcast, Lady Gaga, ‘Hot Ones' & NFL Help Video Giant Mark 20 Creator-Shaped Years

At YouTube Brandcast on Wednesday night, the finale of a three-day blitz of upfront presentations in New York, Lady Gaga achieved the rarest of things: a standing ovation and screams of enthusiasm from a crowd of advertisers. The pop star's scorching 20-minute set closed things on a high note and received the opposite of the usually jaded reactions, but the event had already been a substantive one before she stepped onstage. The 20th anniversary of YouTube earlier this year served as the framework for the presentation, with appearances and remarks reflecting the milestone. Chargers NFL Game For Free From Brazil This September - Update Netflix Releases NFL Christmas Gameday Schedule With Cowboys Vs. Commanders & Lions Vs. Vikings 'In just two decades, YouTube has reshaped how we watch entertainment,' CEO Neil Mohan said. Live events, from concerts to sports to many other kinds, have come to be one of YouTube's foundational elements as technology improvements have enabled more seamless livestreams. 'We want to bring more of these moments to fans everywhere,' Mohan said. One example in September will be an NFL game in Brazil, streamed on YouTube in full for the first time. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage at the Lincoln Center presentation and joined Chief Business Officer Mary Ellen Coe to mark the step-up in the relationship between the league and the video giant. The expanded deal encompasses a flag football game during Super Bowl week, which last year drew 6 million viewers. Coe also announced a new initiative to give ad buyers a chance to get in on key cultural moments. Brands can collaborate with YouTube creators and properties like this month's PGA Championship (or award shows like the Oscars and Emmys, plus a number of other events) to create custom ads. Befitting the night's themes, MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson) made an appearance. With 394 million followers, he has long been the standard-bearer for the creator community. 'People ask me if I'm going Hollywood. Why?' he said. 'The future of entertainment is not in Hollywood. It's happening right here, right now, on YouTube.' Popular YouTuber Brittany Broski (aka Brittany Tomlinson) interviewed another longtime creator, Sean Evans, who hosts interview series Hot Ones. Evans recently participated in an $82.5 million deal to buy the property from BuzzFeed, giving him an ownership stake in the chat show. 'Ownership, equity, and having a stake in the game is like a natural state for a creative person,' he said. 'We are far past the days when a production company or studio is bigger than the person creating the content.' Asked about the enduring appeal of his 10-year-old show, Evans said, 'It pierces the façade of celebrity. … We knock them off the pedestal and take it down to a relatable level.'
