Second BSF member succumbs to injuries sustained during cross-border firing from Pakistan
Constable Deepak Chingakham was the second BSF member who was killed in Pakistani firing from across the border.
The BSF said he sustained fatal injuries during firing along the International Border in Jammu's RS Pura area. He died on April 11.
The other Border Security Force member killed in cross-border firing on April 10 was Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz, who was heading its border outpost in RS Pura.

Former Manipur Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader N Biren Singh described Chingakham as ' a proud son of Manipur '.
'As a Manipuri-Meitei, his courage and devotion to the nation reflect the unwavering commitment of our people to protect and serve,' Singh said.
Tensions between India and Pakistan have been escalated since the Indian military on May 7 carried out strikes – codenamed Operation Sindoor – on what it claimed were terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 persons on April 22.
The Pakistan Army retaliated by repeatedly shelling Indian villages along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
On May 8, the Indian armed forces said they had neutralised attempts by Pakistan to use drones and missiles to target military installations in 15 towns and cities on the previous night. That evening, India said it had repulsed several attacks using drones and other munitions along the western border.
The two countries on May 10 arrived at an 'understanding' to stop all military action, after which the Army said that the night remained largely peaceful on May 11.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday took a jibe at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of delivering 'repetitive' and 'unproductive' speeches during his visits to Bihar, referring to it as "pakau-thaku". Speaking to the media, Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of practising "politics of negativity" and ignoring pressing issues such as education, healthcare, poverty, and large-scale migration from Bihar. "Amit Shah speaks the same 'pakau-thaku' things whenever he visits. He should speak about the development of Bihar, about ending unemployment and inflation. He doesn't speak about any of these. Bihar will not benefit if they keep abusing Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Unless unemployment, poverty and migration end in Bihar, they do not speak about education and health facilities. Their is only the politics of negativity. Let them do it, this doesn't matter...," Yadav said. Amit Shah reached Bihar's Sitamarhi on Friday and laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Janki Mata Temple at Punaura Dham. Later, addressing a public rally, Shah lashed out at the Opposition over their criticism of the government's handling of Operation Sindoor, accusing the Congress party and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's camp of "opposing" the anti-terror operation. Shah also hit out at the Opposition parties for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, accusing them of indulging in vote bank politics. He alleged that the opposition parties were opposing the SIR because infiltrators form part of their vote bank. The Union Minister further asserted that this exercise is not happening for the first time, and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru started it. On being asked about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's meetings with Anant Singh and gangster-turned-politician Anand Mohan, Tejashwi Yadav chose a guarded response. "I do not want to comment on understand only the language of the AK-47. The Government seizes AK-47 from their house, and the same Government releases them. People of Bihar know very well who they are. Party spokespersons are there to speak on their behalf. It does not suit us to speak on them...," he said.

Korean woman accuses Gurugram mall authorities of harassment: ‘Disconnected electricity, water supply'
A South Korean woman has accused the management of the Global Foyer Mall in Gurugram's Golf Course Road of harassment by cutter supply of water and electricity to her restaurant, PTI reported on Saturday, citing officials. She also filed a complaint regarding the mall management at the Sushant Lok Police Station.(HT Photo/Vipin Kumar) Hyang Lee posted a video on social media on Friday to share her side of the story, prompting the police to intervene. In the video, Lee alleged that despite paying rent and maintenance charges, the mall authorities repeatedly cut off the water and electricity connections to her restaurant 'MISO'. 'I have been running my restaurant legally for 14 years, complying with all Indian laws and licenses. For the past three years, the mall management and builder have been harassing me by illegally disconnecting essential services,' Lee said in the video, according to PTI. 'If no action is taken, I'll be forced to return to my country with a bitter experience.' She also filed a complaint regarding the mall management at the Sushant Lok Police Station and also wrote to the South Korean Embassy, claiming the mall management want her to vacate the leased premises. Gurugram Police issues statement In a statement, the Gurugram Police said a meeting was held between both the parties at the police station on Friday, where it was revealed that she has been running the restaurant at the mall for around 14 years, according to PTI. According to the police, the mall management had issued Lee a notice demanding ₹9 lakh in damages, alleging that water leakage from her restaurant caused damage to the mall building. However, Lee did not pay this amount, resulting in a dispute over the utility cut-offs. "The dispute regarding electricity and water was resolved in the last meeting, but a meeting is scheduled for Monday to address the remaining ₹9 lakh dispute. This meeting will take place in the presence of the legal teams for both parties," a spokesperson for the Gurugram Police said.

Govt may roll out ₹2,250 crore export promotion mission soon: Official
The government is expected to soon announce support measures under the proposed ₹2,250 crore export promotion mission to help insulate industry from global trade uncertainties arising from Trump tariffs, an official said. "We are in dialogue with exporters to see how we can support them best in different ways, like ease of doing business. We are looking at how to give a boost to domestic consumption. We are looking at new supply chains, which we can capture, new markets, and new products," the official said. The mission may include components, such as easy credit schemes for MSME and e-commerce exporters, facilitation of overseas warehousing, and global branding initiatives to tap emerging export opportunities. The government on February 1 announced the setting up of the mission with an outlay of ₹2,250 crore. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has already made a presentation on the mission to the representatives of export promotion councils and other key stakeholders on April 30. According to industry officials, the mission is divided into two broad categories - Providing Trade Finance Support (NIRYAT PROTSAHAN) and Driving International Holistic Market Access (NIRYAT DISHA) Initiative. Sources have earlier stated that the GST Council is likely to meet soon to discuss rate simplification and rationalisation, and the future of the compensation cess. It will help boost domestic consumption. The commerce ministry, in the past few days, held a series of stakeholder meetings to understand the challenges which they are facing due to high U.S. tariffs on Indian goods. US President Donald Trump has announced 50% tariffs on India. Sectors like textiles, chemicals, leather and footwear are expected to be hit hard by these duties. India's exports remained flat at $35.14 billion in June due to global economic uncertainties, while the trade deficit narrowed to a four-month low of $18.78 billion during the month. Key export sectors, including petroleum, fabrics, gems and jewellery, leather, iron ore, oil seeds, cashew, spices, tobacco, and coffee, recorded negative growth during June. During April-June 2025-26, exports increased 1.92% to $112.17 billion, while imports rose 4.24%nt to $179.44 billion.
