Clifford averaged 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals on 45.8% shooting from 3-point range in six appearances with the Kings. He scored in double figures five times, including a 19-point, nine-assist and seven-rebound performance on July 16.
The 24th pick helped the Kings advance to the championship game on Monday before falling to the Charlotte Hornets. He emerged as the top performer among all first-year players, according to one metric used by HoopsHype.
Joining Clifford on the first team were 2025 NBA Summer League MVP and Utah Jazz forward Kyle Filipowski, San Antonio Spurs guard David Jones Garcia, LA Clippers guard Jordan Miller and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Terrence Shannon Jr.
Kings forward Isaac Jones, the top performer by HoopsHype, headlined the second team announced on Tuesday, along with Detroit Pistons guard Ron Holland II, Hornets players Kon Knueppel and KJ Simpson, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell.
Knueppel was named MVP of the championship game, guiding the Hornets to an 83-78 win to claim their first title in Sin City. He finished with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes.

Suns GM: Team turned down 'great offers' to draft Khaman Maluach at No. 10

Phoenix Suns general manager Brian Gregory recently revealed the team turned down trade offers to select Khaman Maluach with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. The Suns acquired that first-round pick from the Houston Rockets -- along with Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and several second-round picks -- in exchange for Kevin Durant. The trade was eventually expanded to seven teams and officially completed on July 6. The 7-foot Maluach became a top target for the Suns to provide frontcourt depth and rim protection. Gregory said in a behind-the-scenes documentary published this week on the Suns' YouTube channel that the front office had Maluach high on their draft board. We weren't the only organization in the NBA that had such a high evaluation and thought so highly of him. A lot of calls came in. We had some great offers, but we really believed in him as a player and as a person and that he could come in and make a positive impact on our organization, so we stuck with him during that entire process. For us to get a guy that was projected on our board five spots higher than where we got him is a great accomplishment, and it is because of all of the work that everyone put in during the entire year. Maluach was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team last season at Duke, averaging 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks on 71.2% shooting from the field. He was highly touted due to his versatility as a player who can both shoot and defend, boasting a 7-foot, 6 3/4-inch wingspan. The 18-year-old debuted with the Suns in the NBA Summer League on July 11, recording 14 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots. He finished by posting averages of 10 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in three appearances. Maluach has impressed teammates and coaches early on after joining the organization last month. He showcased each element of his game that attracted the Suns, and the group will be eager to get to work with him in training camp and beyond.

NBA rumors: Hornets' Collin Sexton trade comes after Chris Paul revelation

The post NBA rumors: Hornets' Collin Sexton trade comes after Chris Paul revelation appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Charlotte Hornets continued their offseason activity by orchestrating another trade, this time acquiring combo guard Collin Sexton from the Utah Jazz. While the trade came as a surprise, further reports suggest that the move occurred after the team realized they would be out of the running for veteran free agent Chris Paul. The Hornets were one of several teams interested in Paul, but believe the 40-year-old wants to sign with a West Coast team in free agency, according to Mark Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line. Charlotte remains interested in adding a quality backup point guard, but acquired Sexton to further its backcourt depth. 'The Stein Line has likewise learned that the Charlotte Hornets also planned to make a run at Paul — who grew up in North Carolina — but have all but conceded internally that the former Wake Forest star will almost certainly decide to stay on the West Coast if he returns for a 21st NBA season,' Stein and Fischer reported. 'Charlotte is known to be pursuing veteran ball handlers to back up All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball and is perceived to be one of the potential landing spots for Cleveland's Ty Jerome.' Paul averaged a career-low 8.8 points, but a stellar 7.4 assists in just 28 minutes per game in 2024-2025. Perhaps most impressively, he started all 82 games for just the second time in his 20-year-long career. Sexton, 26, provides much more scoring but less facilitating than Paul. The former lottery pick put up 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in 2024-2025. Collin Sexton trade adds to Hornets' loaded backcourt Coming off another disappointing, injury-riddled season, the Hornets are reportedly entering free agency with a focus on adding guard depth. However, they continue to address that issue before the official window opens. Sexton is the fourth guard Charlotte has added early in the offseason. The team's previous deal, which sent Mark Williams to the Phoenix Suns, brought Vasilije Micic back to the organization. The Hornets also notably added Kon Knueppel and Sion James in the 2025 NBA Draft. The slew of incoming guards turned heads, considering the team's two best players — LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller — already run the backcourt. By trading Williams and Jusuf Nurkic, Charlotte is also noticeably thin up front. The Hornets have yet to add a true backup point guard, but their free agency might now be more focused on replacing their lost big men.
